Style? Grace? Aesthetics? All three? Steve

Drool... Of all the Indy 4 sets, this one looks the best. Definite must buy. JT is getting a new plane! 6 figure too... Steve
-
Actually, its not my find. Indi from adventurers.dk found them. Steve

I'm not a big fan of the super-figure sets, though this one looks to be the best of the lot. The face is very well done and I'm glad to see they didn't do a new face mold. Steve

Nope. ;-) Steve

Oooh, somebody got a wizard! Steve

You're in San Francisco? Isn't there already a club there? BAYLUG, or something? I know I've seen club-displays at the bay area Lego stores. Steve

Just put the set numbers in here. For reference, the set numbers are: 7624 7625 7626 7627 Steve

Unless it is the decapitated head of an enemy...

I think this is the best one. Its very subtle, but when you figure it out, its disgustingly funny. Though I'd drop the whole cherry flavor part, it makes it too long. Just have the troll say, "Yeah and I'd wash the trumpet too..." Steve

So that means epaulettes and capes and weapons each count as an element? On a semi-related note, does anyone know if the cloth capes are counted in Lego's official piece count for official sets? I've never considered that before. Steve

Pretty cool. I had only looked at the first and second pictures (they were the only ones that came up on the screen without scrolling down) and I was getting all prepared to type off a snarky comment about how there was a distinct lack of treasure in the treasure chamber. Then I saw the third picture. :-P I think there is too much brown. I might change the furnishing in the foreground to another color; maybe tan? Steve

What geographic area are you looking at? You need a fairly large population to support a club. There was one in Sacramento, CA, but, even in that large of an area, we'd only get about five AFOLs (including teenagers) and the rest were young kids. Steve

I may be too big, but your legs are too short... Steve

That's not to say I wouldn't have posted it anyway... :-P Steve

I didn't realize it was yoda! That's even funnier. :-D Steve

I hope they give the witch a better face. I wonder if she is the same as the Advent calendar figure... probably. Steve

I thought this thread from fbtb was worth mentioning here too. Steve

Hadn't noticed that. Will have to check to box tonight. Steve

Very funny. I think that should be the next building on Market Street. Steve

We didn't want to sound like the sissy Romans... :-P Steve

6075 Wolfpack Tower Pictorial review!
Athos replied to Nikola Bathory's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I like this set. Sure it was small and simple (and the basement was flooded), but for some reason I really liked it. It was nice they made a base for even the tiny wolf pack faction. I wish they'd include a base for the trolls. Steve -
Perhaps that is why the coloring on all my new bricks is not uniform and the generally quality is going down? Steve P.S. Earth first, we'll clear cut and strip mine the other planets later... :-P

Well since we are just speculating, I don't see how you can say that the suggestion that the line will be similar to Vikings is unsound. I don't see how a Roman line could support itself for more than a Viking-length run. Here's how I support my position: First off, I would argue assuming the future would substantially mirror the past, is a reasonable assumption (some would argue its the only rational assumption). So thus, expecting any Roman line to mirror previous historical lines (ala Vikings) is perfectly reasonable. A Viking-esque smaller theme will not compete with Castle to the degree a fully developed line would. A fully developed intracate Roman theme would definately steal some of Castle's sales. Further, once you've gotten past the fort, colleseum, etc., there isn't much else to do. A temple, maybe. More than one, not likely. The forum? Not likely. I can imagine the catalog description: "Build the Roman forum. Recreate the orations of Cicero and Seneca. Debate imperial policies with your little Lego senate. Stab Caesar 90 times on the steps. Also includes Caligula's horse... Baths? Nude roman figures? I think not. Battle Scene? Can you point to any similar set, in Lego history? Would the new faction of Visigoths, to replace the Ostrogoths really get kids excited about a second year's run? Maybe a new Lepidus faction would make a nice addition to the Anthony/Augustus storyline of the first year? Your turn. ;-) Though, I'm willing to admit I may be wrong and we'll see an extended Roman line. I just think its wishful thinking and pretty unlikely. Until Indy came along, I'd have said our best hope for Romans was a JT line. Now I think our best bet is that it will be like Vikings. Steve
