  1. Are we talking just the figure or the Indy/Adventurer lines? I'm going to assume you mean figures. I think Indy is a great figure. Well designed, lots of accessories (hat and pouch). He captures the Indy essence very well. The only down side is the fleshtones. Johnny is a great figure too. He kind of a copy of Indy (which is a negative) but with lots of differences (facial hair, different hat). Personally, I think I prefer JT. He's the hero of my stories. The star of a great line. An all around great figure. And yellow. That's not to say I don't like Indy though. I've got them both on my desk at work. Steve
  2. That's true. We've all got them... Even if we're not die hard WW fans. Steve
  3. I don't think its nearly as bad as everyone is making it out to be. The swastika is a little out there, but it is true that ol' Charlie has one on his forehead. Is this really any worse than any number of beheading scenes we see all the time as Castle MOCs? Steve
  4. Supposed to be coming out for this Xmas! Only 10 months to go! X-D Steve
  5. I doubt it. I think Bruce of Vignette Bricks and Classic-Castle made at least one first. Big Daddy Nelson probably did too. Steve

What? I gave you at least a good 20 minutes to do it... ;-) Actually, I hadn't realized how new the pictures were. I'm not real fond of the HQ set. That just jeep dwarfs the bike. Penguin is going to drown, if that's where he rides his sub. Steve
  8. Pretty cool. Though I'm not sure I like the helmets on the women. Steve
  9. Very worthy. I really like it. Though I'm not real keen on the blues, in this context. Its too colorful for a goldmine, though I do like how that light blue looks. Steve

Think we could edit these pictures into the first post? I almost missed them again. Is that a new barrel piece in the HQ set? Or is it the old large barrel in new brown? Or is it a bunch of 4x4 round bricks stuck together? I'm hoping for the second option, but think its probably the third. Steve
  11. I'm personally not very excited about this set. I'm not really an army builder, so buying this set as a minifigure pack, isn't all that appealing. I also don't know many people who play chess, so to me, its usefulness as a chess set is minimal too. Aesthetically, I don't find it very pleasing. It looks too big and crowded, so I can't see using it as a display piece. Given all that, I'd find it hard to drop $100 on it, when I could put that $100 towards other sets (i.e. Grocer, the whole '08 Castle line-up, PaB, bricklink purchases, etc.). So I'll probably have to pass on this one. I was more excited about it when I first saw the pictures, then after a couple of hours, I found my feelings had cooled significantly. Maybe I'll feel differently later. Steve
  12. I wonder why Henry's hat is tan here, but grey in the set... Steve, who definately has to get all these chains...
  13. I wonder how much they'll cost. I also wish they came in the cardboard boxes rather than the goofy plastic. Steve
  14. Hey, what do ya know? X-D Steve
  15. Well actually, I'm not sure Indy should be moved. I just find it funny to split Indy and JT. Pretty much any Indy MOC could be a JT MOC, if you just swapped out the figures. I don't see any real solution to this issue, beyond the severe remedy of dividing the history forum into all its covered subthemes (i.e. Castle, Western, Adventurers), which is not warranted. It was just a thought I had while looking through the Adventurers index and thinking: "Hey, where are all the Indy links... oh wait, I should look in the theater forum... how clunky..." As a resolution to this issue, I'd suggest a link in the Adventurers Index to the Indy Index (if one is ever made)... or I could just quit thinking... X-D Steve
  16. I edited my original post to include this, which, at least, addresses the Star Wars concerns: Steve, who realizes he's probably fighting a losing battle on this one... X-D
  17. It seems that there is a disconnect between Indy and Adventurers. JT and company is placed in the history forum, while Indy is in the theater. While I understand the reasoning behind this, it doesn't seem like its the best way to go. Indy sets and MOCs would fit more readily in the history forum. JT and Indy are quite similar, in theme, sets and style. So dividing them up into separate forums seems silly. Indy fits better here anyway. The only thing it has in common with Star Wars, Harry Potter, Speed Racer, Sponge-Bob is that its a license (and the crappy flesh-tones). Having the flying wing next to bikini bottom or a TIE-fighter seems like a non sequiter. While its true that, using my logic, Star Wars should probably be put into Space. SW is, however, a much larger theme than Indy will ever be. And the whole theater forum is pretty much solely devoted to and dominated by SW. To sum it up, I suggest Indy be grandfathered into the history thread. Steve
  18. I know I did it too, but do discussions of MOCs really belong in the index thread? Maybe some of the new Indy stuff should be added here too? Steve
  19. Oh, you mean that 54 page train wreck of a thread...? Wonder how I could have missed it there... ;-) A couple of reasons: (1) they showed up on ebay before anyone here found leaked pictures; (2) the ambassador at C-C didn't know anything about them; (3) no set number apparent; and (4) the whole GBP/USA thing. Steve
  20. Glad I went with the Brickslinger, rather than LegalLego... X-D What a pain that will be... Steve
  21. Someone found these and posted them over at Classic-Castle: Knight Battle Pack Skeleton Battle Pack They look pretty real. I'm a bit intrigued/suspicious as to why the currency is GBP, since the items are located in the USA. Steve Edit Bonaparte: Added pictures in post

That is incredibly disappointing. No Willie or Short Round? I can understand avoiding certain scenes, but to skip the entire movie, is ridiculous. Lots of good scenes could still be made, as discussed above, but I'd also add the rope bridge fight... Look at some of the scenes already done from the other movies (not to mention faux-nazis): Lost Tomb: snakes crawling out of a skull's mouth Truck Chase: pretty explicit running over of a guard Temple: decaying Forrestal and an impaled Sapito, both of which are included! I hope they'll reconsider. Steve
  23. It needs a door... X-D Steve
  24. Awww, I forgot about this and then didn't get around to making an entry for this... Tough choice between 007's entry and BM_145's entry. BM's is just so large and imposing. It'd also be fun to make hinkley build it to put into his stories. 007's is unique and nicely detailed. I'm going to have to steal some of the ideas in it for my own MOCs. Steve
