  1. Living in St Louis, I see the Big Arch a bit differently, there is a really cool version done by Adam Reed Tucker at our science center, about 2 feet high at its peak of the arch for the keystone
  2. Marina Bay Sands, just an update on this, and for the Netherlands, good possible news: http://www.brickshop...-bay-sands.html Brickshop is showing they will have the set for sale on May 1.
  3. just an update on this, and for the Netherlands, good possible news: http://www.brickshop.nl/lego/lego-architecture/lego-21021-marina-bay-sands.html Brickshop is showing they will have the set for sale on May 1.
  4. Michael - thanks, please keep us informed of any info that comes your way, we have, as you can tell from this post, another thread about the whole architecture line if you want to post any info there, hoping for Taipei 101 myself
  5. Rollermonkey, it is being billed as a Landmark Series, not a Building based on the wording on the box
  6. I must be going crazy, I have seen tons of threads all over the place, why do you care?
  7. Really great build, I really like the crane and the "building" of the build at the end, congrats on the show as well
  8. yes, but that is a thread for the whole year, not just one product, I just started this as a product thread. Maybe I missed it, but this is done quite a bit on a lot of forums and threads. You have the main Lego movie thread and then a thread for each product. If you want to change all that fine, but someone needs to communicate that.
  9. From Promo Bricks at: http://www.promobricks.de/spielwarenmesse-2014-lego-architecture-21020-trevi-brunnen/1618 Jan 30 Nuremburg Toy Show revealed the next Architecture line product of the Trevi Fountain. I do not read German so not sure if this says date but I see a part of a price of 49.99 euros I think.
  10. found the article, on this, apparently debuted at the Nuremburg Toy Show, I do not speak German, but here is a pic of the box and the link to the story http://www.promobricks.de/spielwarenmesse-2014-lego-architecture-21020-trevi-brunnen/1618
  11. Thanks for the pic, now if you have any idea of sale date and cost, that would be great, I have to admit I was pretty skeptical of how they would pull off the fountain but they did a good job. Interesting they are using blue for the windows of the building. Following that same trend with Marina Bay and the UN, guess blue is now the new standard for windows in the Arch line
  12. Correct, no building, just car and minifigs
  13. thrilled to hear this news, to find out we get the Ecto and the figures and that it should hit in 2014. I also hope they get the female sets passed but thought the Land Rover was really cool too, but am guessing they couldn't work out the license with LR. Next review I am pulling for Sherlock to get something out there, what an iconic figure in literature and a great show as well.
  14. That's one of the most interesting comparisons I have seen in a while...so this set might be considered investment grade after all, might change my thinking on pulling the trigger. OK rollermonkey, you emailed the hotel, then you paid by ebay? I have to message you now.
  15. They updated the latest winter items on Jan 16 I think it was...the items were: •Sherlock – This project has everything you need to act out your favorite scenes from 221B Baker Street, including a consulting criminal and a gaggle of characters for Sherlock to coyly insult. •Macross VF-1 Valkyrie +Fast pack / Armored parts – A model of the iconic mecha that you can build and transform. •Legend of Zelda: Iron Knuckle Encounter – The third project to reach 10,000 supporters based on the Legend of Zelda; this proposal features the Iron Knuckle in an interactive playset. •Japanese Old Style Architecture – A proposal for classic Japanese buildings in LEGO Bricks. •The Adventure Time Project – Mathematical! 10,000 Candy People have voted for the Tree Fort from the Land of Ooo to potentially become a LEGO set. •BTTF – UCS DeLorean Time Machine – A beautifully detailed large-scale Back to the Future DeLorean, designed for use with Power Functions. This last one is a remote controlled DeLorean.
  16. If that is true, Vee would have a field day with the fact that this truly is an "evil" way to do business in Lego sets. I really hope it is not...still, we are all small fish in the pond related to the folks who have the billions, limited edition or not, we just have to live and deal with it and hopefully pick one up like rollermonkey or on ebay. Good luck to all in their desired pursuit of 21021. On to the next Architecture set...whatever it may be, hope they let us know soon.
  17. Very cool rollermonkey, what was your final cost on this? I wonder if MBS has a bunch of these but it just putting them out in limited quantities as well maybe based on shelf space? I am going to have to see if I get a bonus at work, will then get it, but sheesh it will be hard to get it at this price even. I am stingy I guess. I also wonder if ebay is going to also see a new influx of these for sale?
  18. The set in your post above LegoGal was one that was given out with $100 in purchase when our Lego Store opened last year. Day 1 was something, this was Day 2 and then Day 3 was a tshirt. I had already purchased this one off of ebay so opted for the other choices. I do think this is a standard giveaway when a new store opens. Going back to 21021 I have noticed quite a few for sale on ebay US, but wow the prices are just inflated. Just very frustrating unless you have $200 to just plop down and pick it up...and for that, I would rather go Simpsons House since I would perceive that as having more value.
  19. LegoGal, apparently there was already a link, I just added to it in the Special Forum...interested to see your picks.
  20. thanks!
  21. wow, great looking build and including the garage is a nice touch. You did a really clean job that looks like TLG could pick this up and market it. How did you do the name plate? Just a sticker? Nice touch and I hope the folks who walk in to see it are very impressed with your build.
  22. Based on another thread, a lot of folks were talking about buildings/landmarks they would love to see made. No real rules here, just post your top 5 sets you would like to see made in the Architecture line. Here is mine, culled from places I have visited. 1. Chichen Itza - obviously a major landmark, and while large in scope (many more buildings there aside from the main pyramid) I think Lego could do this, do the main pyramid and the section of columns next to it and see what else. 2. Taipei 101 - really cool building that essentially looks like Chinese take out boxes stacked on each other, but trust me it is way cooler in person. 3. Dublin's General Post Office - As an Irish descendant, this building has a ton of history behind it, likely not a huge appeal for the masses but does to me. 4. Golden Gate Bridge - not sure how you would scale this, but San Fran has some really cool architecture and this is the most well known (didn't think Alcatraz would go over) 5. Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles - I just really liked this building, unsure of how to create it in Lego though, but feel they could Bonus: I would love to see a ballpark line, having grown up with baseball, I know these can be done, there are actually businesses out there that do build them, but places like Fenway, Wrigley, Lambeau, etc...they are so architecturally cool that I have faith TLG could do it right.
  23. LegoGal, is Sagrada finished yet though? I didn't think it would be finished for a long while still, hopefully before I am dead so I can go see it. I know there is a ton of it done, but not all the way. Still, I am good with that. We need a new thread really but I think we should put in a wanted list and maybe CopMike can represent for us.
  24. faefrost, I almost fell off the chair, that's hilarious...one of my good friends owns a cleaning company and his complaint is always about the architects that forget the rooms that holds the supplies, they put it in the dungeon when it is needed on the top floor and such...great post
  25. Someone mentioned it, but before Christmas sets were through the roof, the Friends Dolphin Cruiser was almost twice the price on ebay, but since it was not retiring, I just waited to get it for my daughter. This is much the same, you have your early adopters that MUST have it first. Which is nuts, but the numbers and information provided on ebay and their fees is pretty accurate, it is America's giant garage sale...for a price. You really need to sell low or not care on the money side to really make anything on ebay.
