  1. It's actually quite a difference. The black one comes with 9398, the silver one comes with 8466.
  2. That sounds great, man. At 5 years old, that's a huge deal. I know i got my first Technic set when i was 5, but it sure wasn't nearly as complicated as the 9398 chassis is. I'm not sure if you saw it, but i made a post in reply to wheels & tires question. It's the last post on the previous page, so you may have missed it.
  3. Awesome, i really like the police version. As for the stripes, i can see where you're coming from. I suppose if it were up to me, i'd have a custom sticker made to cover the entire door, or maybe just a symbol or logo. I don't mind the stripes on top, at all. I just think the 2 separate colors on the side makes it look weird. In regards to the 8466 rims, they are different from the 9398 rims. It came with the 22969 style rim to support that big balloon tire. It's a much more size appropriate combination, for both the 9398 and the 41999. In terms of matching the chassis, i know it's harder on the motors / gears to make 'em crawl...but it's not too bad. Here's my custom 41999 with an all black chassis and some other minor changes, sporting the 8466 wheels, so you can see what it looks like. To be honest with you, i much prefer the body you have created over the past few months. If you actually manage to get it all done, i'd be happy to kick some cash your way for a set of decent instructions. Click on the "show" button for the images. I'm not trying to be a show-off, so i decided to hide them.
  4. Fantastic stuff, VC, truly. I really like the version that shows off the engine, but i would remove the striping from the sides. Is it possible to render this with the Power Puller / 8466 rims & tires? They'd look so much better than the stock 9398 wheels.
  5. This is a beautiful thread. I have been contemplating getting the parts for one of these well known MOC supercars, but i honestly don't like the red, at all. These pictures do make them look awesome, though. I think, eventually, i will build Sheepo's Mustang in white, or maybe yellow. That is, of course, if the parts are actually available in those colors.
  6. That's exactly how i feel.Nice work, though, D3K. I'm sure you'll be in the top 3 with this.
  7. This is currently priced at $160.98 at the Toys 'r Us Ebay Store and the official Toys 'r Us website. Great set. Get it while you can!
  8. Winning bid was $202 and some change. Did you get it, BB?
  9. Wow, that is amazing. I want to build it in white!
  10. Awesome! You're very welcome. If it all works out, build something nice with them! P.S - I do remember. I check Goodwill every chance i get...and i rarely find anything, anymore.
  11. If you're going to change the name of my topic, at least make sure spelling and grammar are accurate...
  12. I would love to build this....like, right now. What a great little model. I need something tiny to screw around with on my desk. This would be perfect!
  13. Hi, I'm certain this isn't the "correct" section of the forum to place this - but considering these parts are mainly used for Technic builds - i hope it'll be ok. I was browsing Ebay for Technic auctions, and i came across this one, listed by Seattle Goodwill. It's a listing for 3 incomplete Lego RC cars but from what i can tell by looking at the pictures, the package comes with 4 BUGGY MOTORS & 3 OFFICIAL REMOTE CONTROLLERS. The seller clearly states that the items have not been tested, and it does look like they have seen some use - but it never hurts to try, right? The auction is currently floating at $61 but of course, it'll be going up some more as it closes in on ending. Here's the link to the actual listing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/331202916287?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I just wanted to let you guys know, because i know buggy motors are a big deal to a lot of you - and being able to buy 4 in one deal would be a great chance. Maybe some of you could even go in on it together and spread the joy! Good Luck!
  14. This is truly a great project. I love all the progress you've made, and i do think it would look fantastic on a regular chassis, too.
  15. I love it! I prefer option #1 in regards to the spoiler. It just makes it's butt look good to me. The whole thing looks great without the stripe, too. However, now that you've changed it's wheel base, i don't care for the chrome step bar anymore. It seems out of place to me, for some reason. This really isn't very important, though...and i'm sure it'll look OK when it's sitting on top of the 9398 chassis.
  16. Hey Charlie, I just went through this thread and i have to say, i'm impressed with the improvements you have made to your own LDD design. The model has come a long way, and it's really starting to look like something real. When it's finished, i'd gladly pay for instructions! I do have to agree with Seasider in regards to the stripe on the side. The combination of white & red just doesn't look right, and i think the overall look of the model would be better without a stripe. I suppose it's one of those "Less is more" situations. Keep up the awesome work, man.
  17. This is beautiful Love everything about it, so far. Great pick to base a build on, too. Can't wait for the end result.
  18. They were loved, and always will be. They will be missed, and cherished for the rest of your natural lives, and beyond. Celebrate their lives as much as you can.
  19. That is really cool, Dikkie. I'd really love to have instructions for that.
  20. 8070 would be great. I'm itching to take mine apart to make something good out of it.
  21. I just decided to get this, but only because i had $265 in VIP Credit & Gift Cards from my birthday & christmas. Other than the 41999 and the 42000, this was the only appealing 2013 model. Now that i have seen the upcoming Loader & Bulldozer, i am pretty glad i got this crane. If anything, it makes for a load of yellow MoC parts.
  22. This is outstanding. I adore the colors you decided to build this bike with. I'd love to see instructions for this, one day. Thanks for posting this.
  23. Many great entries for this contest! 24. Very cool. Love the film, and this was a great reenactment of that part of it.
  25. Great stuff, Vic. Would love to see instructions for this, one day. I'd build it in Orange. :D
