    Thanks 'monsinjor', 'LT12V' and 'Technic-Kobaltz' for your kind words, now I must dig up the brooms and one red 1x1 tile for the door.....plus work out the best kind of base plate arrangement for this project as this will end up in my Lego City based layout......you know the one with the four storey building in it.......keep watching anyway.

    Thanks 'monsinjor' and yeah, there are a few broken welds......then the painter has to paint them white again.........once the Octan project is as far as parts will allow for the time being NM is on hold......but keep watching anyway.

    Thanks 'TLC', I have 2x4 red slope pieces on order to fill the gaps in the driveway roof, plus a few small's and dig up a service station base plate to mount this on. Keep watching !

    I decided to take a short break from my Aussie country town and start work on some reverse engineering......here is a w-i-p shot....of course there is more to come so keep watching !

    Only two tanker sets have come with some odd looking pumps (2010 & 2013). I don't remember any gas station sets coming out with a tanker in them.....at least in the minifig era ? Reverse engineering complete, parts that I don't have ordered.....plus I've had to sub some parts due to availability or price. Oh, I have to design the stickers and everyone knows I love making stickers ! I've noticed that 'eiker86' on his flickr page has up close images of the Arctic sets........here's the link again.... ..........towards the end of the slide show the newer Arctic images are......I like the dozer.

    Ah, discovered it by accident.......you click the building instructions icon, then the HTML icon and it opens the instructions of your model as a windows page.....the parts list is at the end of the print out. Anyway, this bit is off-topic....we better stay on target.

    True, it's a wonder Mr Freeze and Batman don't make an appearance ! I have finished digitally designing that gas station and have printed out a parts list......hopefully over the next two weeks I can afford the extra parts to build it.

    On the other hand it could be argued that will all the great vehicles that a new gas station would be called for.......you have more gas stations robbed by crooks than polar research bases. That opinion of mine is based on the larger number of police sets over the last four years and Lego saying kids want police, police and more police. If gas stations don't sell then pizza bars and bike shops do ? What I would like to know from the city design team is why and how they chose what to release.......their logic sometimes is questionable.

    I'm impressed with the detailing on the minifigs, thank goodness now that there is no new city stuff (except trains) for the tiger to buy because this set is at the top of the list. I also notice some new parts as well.......and is that blood over the cockpit hood of that smaller craft ?

    Ditto, thanks 'eiker86' for asking. Well, the surprise set this year is an Arctic ice plane......meh, big deal and what a way to bum out a theme for the rest of the year. Thanks goodness for the trains.......I'll be able to buy them this time round because I'll be buying none of the Arctic sets......I totally have no place for them in my collection. So I have a total of five city and eight super heroes to buy and I'm done for 2014 (except buying some SW and the Simpson's house for my son). Mind you, I wouldn't mind just get some of the huskies.....I could MOC a breeding kennel....maybe. On that gas station, I'm 75% through reverse engineering what I can see and had to do some redesigning to make it work too. This year started with so much promise, a large a ray of vehicles, cool police station and new trains with a Lego shop in the train station.......then Arctic is it. What ever happen to variety like back in 2009 or 2007 even ? Now don't take it as I don't like the Arctic sets, they are excellent designs .....they just don't fit the usual city layout, etc., but say a kid who has to do a school project on polar regions would have some awesome props right ?     First Thomas The Tank, now Sponge Bob........ Though I thought there was once a rumour of MB gaining this theme......lets hope Lego doesn't lose the Turtles......that I would doubt that happening thanks to the Lego Movie.

    True, this years design looks more finished and I'm still trying to read the license plate sticker on that white car in front of the train station.

    That gas station....there's something odd about......the pump has a sticker I do not remember ever seeing before. The basic design is similar to 2013's, but there are differences too.....like the stickers.....another prototype perhaps ? I'll sit on fence for the moment and start a bit of reverse engineering so if it's not real.....I'll make my own !

    That's my sad gut feeling too, but who's up for some reverse engineering eh ? At least we have a better close up image this year......though I did see a white 4 wide car getting about the layout, but that too might be a flight-of-fancy by the designers....again ?
