Yeah, that's the main reason I'm curious about Surge's helmet. The elongated back section can't coexist with the visor, so they need to reduce that. I want to see how they do it, however. As for the visor, I'm betting either tr. blue if they do something like Breez (visor/transparent shells colour=transparent version of the main colour) or tr. neon green if they follow Rocka's style (visor/transparent shells colour=contrasting colour). I also wonder if we'll see more silver helmets like Breez's or the others are keeping their primary colour..
-
Breez's helmet looks nicer everytime I see it. I really do like it a lot. In general, the Hero helmets are a success- they look new enough, yet they actually resemble the previous helmets (unlike the masks worn by certain biomechanical, adaptive armour wearing heroes..). I'm curious about what they'll pull off in Summer, especially for Stringer and Surge. I just wish the rest of their bodies was slightly better designed and they wielded more exciting weapons (save for Rocka's sword and Furno's shield, those are awesome).

Since speculation is what we're mostly doing these days, might as well post a theory of mine regarding the 2013 main antagonist. So, we now know that Pyrox & co. actually are mutated beasts controlled by the real villains: the slugs/brains. Like someone said, the Brainify image I posted almost suggests the slugs are created in laboratory. The green mist and the pods made me think about Makuta Teridax and the Kraata, and it hit me that the mastermind behind the slugs might not be a "natural" ruler, but their creator. We never had a mad scientist Big Bad so far, except Witch Doctor...to a certain extent. Going by the HF villains standard, the villain could be a scientist who used to work for HF but somehow became evil. Maybe he/she is an ally/minion of Von Nebula, and the whole Brain Attack is a distraction plan like Vinyl Scratch suggested. The idea is a blend between Bionicle 2002 and 2005 basically, with a little bit of 2003 (Mask of Light arc) thrown in.

The missing Bulk picture is kind of weird, but I highly doubt they're editing the set this late. 2013 sets in general could pop in stores as early as next week. Pyrox always was dark red. Well, it's not confirmed, but going by Front's words ("Savage Planet claws/fangs can attach directly to the head") it's highly likely.

Well, we got our first background/scenery picture for the 2013 story: Source: http://appshopper.co...actory-brainify Pretty creepy stuff. The green mist feels a lot like 2005. Between this and Galaxy Squad, 2013 is the return of evil insect aliens Oh, and I subscribe for a screenshot to be posted. Those light blue / dark blue brain slugs do sound really cool and pretty much confirm a Summer wave. Since it's basically confirmed that the real villains are the slugs, the bad guy sets are secondary to the whole picture, being mere victims.. meaning the slugs can choose any victim to mutate and control. That means Lego is free to choose a completely different style for the Summer villains (what if in Summer the slugs manage to invade Makuhero City? ). I'm not too hot for the elemental style, you know. .

REVIEW: 71000 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 9
Shakar replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This series looks awesome. I have my eyes on the Knight, the Forest Maiden, the Battle Mech and the Alien Avenger. I wouldn't mind the Mermaid too, I never had one. I love how the Battle Mech hasn't a single mold head like the Galaxy Squad androids but uses a Chima figures-esque trick.- 171 replies

Gotta love those swords. The fact they exist in gold and silver and you can fit a bar of any colour in them makes it even better. I finally found a nice use for the tr purple bars I bought a few months ago
-
The tr. green looks more ambiguous than ever..now it looks like everyone uses tr. neon green except Ogrum. And Rocka is all tr. neon green except the rights houlder cladding.. Furno (dat visor..so..pretty..), Pyrox, Ogrum and Rocka look better than before. Bruizer looks worse, and I don't know about Breeze.. Generally, all 3 small Heroes should lose the dark bley bones, but their colour schemes are messy even without them. Lastly, I'm worried about the head colour. All characters whose helmets let you see what's under seem to use tr bright green heads. Could it be the piece has been produced only in that colour, at least for this wave? Can't believe I forgot to mention the new flame weapon pieces. They already looked cool before, sure, but them being transparent is so much better! I'd love a recoloured version of them in Summer as lightning- Surge weapon anyone?

Amazon.uk has the sets up for preorder. Nothing new, except 2 more bag angle shots (no back shots) for each set- rather useless. The English descriptions are pretty similar to the Russian/French versions, though they clear up some terms. Bruizer's arm function is mentioned, no signs of function for Scarox however. So he's just a Technic fest. The person who originally noticed it (I don't remember your name, sorry! But you had a Optimus Prime avatar, IIRC) got his/her post lost in the 10 hour server shutdown. I don't like stealing merits, but the member hasn't posted again yet, so I thought I'd do it. If you're reading this, credit goes to you.

I think I got it. The head has a small horizontal bar on the back, so the visor can attach via clip. A clip like the one on the Savage Planet claw you posted. How close am I?
-
New Front post, oh yeah! Well: 1)Ball cup 2)Top hole 3)"Mouth" hole 4)Right side hole 5)Left side hole 6)??? A second one at the top? This might become the best head piece ever. Actually, it most likely already is. Are you saying the visor connects like the 3.0 helmets, just with 1 peg instead of 2? That's..possible, I guess, but the "stud lookalike" looks way too wide and large to be a System peg..
-
I thought about the studs idea too, but Front almost immediately answered me by jossing my theory:

I was fond of this set to begin with, this review just makes it even more interesting for me. I might get this, though I'm not sure of the 20 Euro (?) price tag. I'll likely find a chaper one in shops or on Amazon however. Great review.

I guess this confirms some sort of mechanism for Scarox too. Nice to hear the Technic pieces aren't replacing the new system like I was fearing, but add something.

Well, I was indeed talking about the swords in the mantis. Anyway, they really don't look tr. green to me, neither the mantis's or Rocka's- the colour is too light and yellowish. I was thinking about tr. neon green for both, but nearly everyone thought Rocka and Black Phantom used that colour, and look what happened. Definitely part of her head. Even her old helmet shows some part of the jaw.I agree on Bruizer. I kinda had that idea when the small pictures came out, but it sounded too weird..but it looks like he really uses Technic pieces. What's with all the Technic pieces anyway? They might give the idea of the sets being more complex, but they hurt the articulation and the smoothness of the design. I never liked Technic pieces in constraction figures, TBH... *puts on all sorts of protective gear*

Is it just me or does Razcal have rings all over his face? Probably my favourite Raven character I just love how detail-filled these figures are.

Now that the Galaxy Squad are up on S@H (US/Canada only, I think), time to stare at the very, very pretty lilac Zamor: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Star-Slicer-70703 It's also a nice chance to view Rocka's sword piece in all its glorious details- definitely one of my favourite new 2013 pieces. I'm still not sure if it's tr. bright green or tr. neon green though..
-
Aww, I haven't thought of that. Now I compare them it looks like you're right. It's even more likely when you think Ogrum uses the same piece in the same colour (t. metallic).
-
Yeah, they're pretty high. On Breez's and Bulk's cases, however, it's partly due to the small pieces on their weapons (the bladed staff and the drill). Likewise, Scarox "Technic-fest Mutant Crab" uses a handful of small pieces. Rocka has a standard Hero build and his weapons are quite simpler than the other 2, and he's got the lowest piece count out of the 4 9 Euro sets. Ogrum and Pyrox are about on the same complexity level, but Ogrum's count is increased by small pieces such as the droid arms, the Piraka minifig spines and the pieces on his mace. Unsurprisingly, Bruizer has the highest piece count of the 3, as he's got spikes all over his body and a not so standard torso build. Lastly, Furno has 14 more pieces than Stormer, due to slightly more complex weapons and add-ons like the cape and the visor. Some stuff I noticed: -Furno's lower arms bones, like I thought, are Stormer 2.0 lower leg bones recoloured in dark bley- Yay new bone colour! -Pyrox's torso armour indeed is a titanium metallic scout drone (Stormer XL) -Breez's head is tr. bright green -Not that it wasn't obvious, but all 3 small Heroes use short arms, like Breakout small Heroes. I'll add more if I find them..still unsure about Rocka's green and Furno's visor colour.

Amazon.fr has zoomable pictures for all sets+price counts! http://www.amazon.fr...&qid=1354210106 Rocka: 43 Scarox: 46 Furno XL: 103 Breez: 49 Ogrum: 59 Bruizer: 62 Pyrox: 50 Bulk: 50. Just noticed the images can be saved. Too bad they're same poses we had before, but bigger pics is definitely great.

Wow, it really says that. Well this is weird EDIT: Despite the fact I know zero Russian, I tried to dissect the sentence "aliens captured cat", finding and removing the words for "aliens" and "captured". This is what was left: http://translate.goo...еничный трактор

Since when were you under the impression Scarox was a cat?[/Aizen voice] I guess him being without tail makes sense now. I would prefer if he had one however. . I pointed out the Rocka blades too. I'm wondering if they're same tr. green as Rocka's (which is still unclear) or another shade.. If Rocka uses tr. neon green I'd like them to be tr. bright green so I can obtain one and give it to Rocka.
-
Were those lilac or old purple? Your words imply the former. Looks like they thought about it again afterall. And this is more HF 2013 related- I knew the Mantis used Rocka's sword, but from the box art they looked like regular lime like the rest of its body. But it looks like they're some sort of transparent green. Tr Bright Green?
