  1. I'm pretty sure Rocka is getting a tr neon green visor. His tr. green is the same as on Ogrum and Scarox (his fangs), which seems a lot lighter than Breez's. Unless Breez is using regular tr. green- but her green looks too vibrant to me, so much I immediately mentally screamed "tr. bright green!!!11" when I saw her for the first time. Which is too bad, since I was eager to try Brain Attack (shall we use BA?) Rocka's equipment on Breakout Rocka. I do hope I'm wrong, but I can't ignore the difference between Rocka/Ogrum/Scarox and Breez.
  2. Is Equila wearing...goggles? Anyway, him and Eris* look amazing. Without getting too Freudian, I like the details on the torsos (especially Eris's detailed armour), and them essentially being half naked, along with the gold armour, really brings the "ancient noble warriors" look home. The light blue skin looks really nice, too. *It's odd- it looks like the Eagles are good guys, yet her name suggests otherwise. Maybe they chose it just because it starts with E.. Oh, I agree with DraikNova BTW. I want warrior penguins!
  3. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm pretty sure that Sand Red is a discounted colour.Anyway, I have one simple request: Spike Flexible 3.5L in white. Honestly I'm pretty surprised it doesn't exist yet- it would be useful for teeth and other animal parts. I don't need for that reason, but that's a different story.
  4. Ah, I see now. Nex never used 5M shells in his build (not counting the name badges- BTW, I miss those, especially the 2.0 ones. They reminded me of some Beast Wars figures, the Transmetals 2 IIRC), except Nex 3.0 on his thighs..which were silver. If my theory is right (=all 5 Summer Heroes are going to be 12.99 Euro figures- a big if, since they haven't released more than 4 medium sized figures in one wave since Bionicle 2009), they won't have any excuse to not use 5M orange shells on him this time. If he looks different enough from Voltix then sure, why not? For him and Surge, I can see the return of (likely recoloured versions of) Voltix's and Pyrox's weapons. I'm not sure of how MTIS would look on 2013 Villains. They have a really organic and rounded look, while the MTIS is the essence of the Heroes' aesthetics- smooth, clean, futuristic looking and angular. But I'd definitely like to see it on Heroes, especially if it meant getting more recolours of it. Out of the Hero main colours, blue, lime and gold is all we're missing, right? I'm not sure about gold, but I can see at least one of the other 2 colours popping out, especially blue. I haven't laid my hands on Olive yet, maybe that's why I'm so curious about it. I can see it getting used on a swamp themed villain (Ogrum is more akin to jungle). I agree it's far less likely to appear on a Hero- none of them look like they'd incorporate it well, except maybe Bulk (the darkest coloured Hero along Stringer, already sported green highlights in Breakout). I feel relieved. I see it now, thanks! This, pretty much. I didn't mind getting BP in Winter but we're getting quite the hype about the Villain Leader this way. I'm hoping for some horrific abomination that makes Scarox look like a kitty. I think the reason comes from the difference between transparent and solid colours. The first ones can be easily used as accents since they're less noticeable at first glance, while the second ones feel more "heavy" and thus are immediately recognized as an integrant part of the colour scheme.
  5. This. It's not that hard. Just check the colour list on Bricklink or other sites- all the colours that are still used in 2012 are fair game. I apologize for having mentioned Thok's Very Light Bluish Gray, by the way- I forgot they stopped using it in 2010. I totally forgot about flesh brown. Man did I hate that colour on Bionicle sets. At least brown in Bionicle went out with a bang thanks to Avak (and Vezon's staff and its mysterious brown Inika thigh guard I've yet to found an explanation for). I facepalm whenever I hear somebody suggesting teal... Edit: I just reread your last paragraph. Bricklink records Thok White's last use in 2010, could it return? Not that I care much for it, just curious about when a colour is deemed truly discounted.
  6. I support tr. yellow on Surge. It would be a very nice homage to his 1.0 core, plus we already had tr. cladding (Waspix’s wings). Just make them as 4M or 5M shells, since I guess the 8M wings we already have are too large to be used properly on small/medium figures.I agree Nex will stick with white (by the way, 2012 already brought us 5M orange shells- check Thornraxx and Breakout Bulk). Some lilac for Evo would be great. I wonder about his transparent colour, however- tr. purple cladding and visor would be very cool.. The 2013 villains' motto, at least for Ogrum and Pyrox, seems to be "the same colour of my Hero rival (?), BUT DARKER!" It's as if the Heroes were Mata Nui characters, and the Villains came from the Metru Nui arc. I can see Surge's villain being dark blue...that would be excellent, as it's the only "Metru colour" that hasn't yet returned. The others I guess will keep regular colours, like Scarox (what would "dark gold" be, anyway?) and Bruizer (who does, however, sport more titanium metallic than the more silver-rich Bulk)- I can't think of a darker counterpart for orange, white (don't mention Thok's nearly useless very light bley : / ), black (... ) and yellow (aside from gold, which would make for a Scarox clone). One hope for Summer Heroes- better weapons this time, please. Rocka's sword and Furno's shield are great new pieces, and the reuse of Cap America's shield is nifty, but Breez's Most Fragile Bow Ever and Bulk's drill thing really do pale compared to simple yet clever weapons in Breakout like Rocka's crossbow, Stringer's cannon, Bulk's rocket launcher and Stormer's sword. Sometimes, a new piece isn't needed to make a cool weapon, just some creativity is enough. The return of Speeda Demon's Ninjago giant katana would be wonderful, especially in a character like Evo (meditative, weapon master, remember?). Also more MTIS, there can never be enough MTIS. If they keep the elemental look on Summer bad guys, a new piece might not even be necessary. How about a recoloured Bruizer armour piece, in white, clear, tr. light blue or something else? Instant ice armour right there. Granted, that would be less of a snowman and more of an ice monster, but still. Umm.. do Evo, Rocka and Nex ring a bell? They all belong to the same colour family of yellow/orange/brown, yet they manage to look different enough from eachother. Aside from lilac (which would include both indigo and purple, since the latter was discontinued), they've used up all rainbow colours for Heroes; it's all a matter of playing with colour shades at this point. I'm not terribly interested in a Thresher set, but if they really wanted to make him they could use, say, bright green, dark green of olive. Bam! Completely different from Breez.Man, how do my post always end up so long?
  7. I was writing a post but I did something really stupid so here's me writing it again. Well, most of it anyway. [/lazy] I swear you're making me want to read those books, Aanchir. I found them on Amazon, so I might buy them. Anyway, I got Speeda Demon last Saturday. Very cool set, the bike looks much nicer in person (and has a realistic steering mechanism this time! Too bad for no kickstand, however), and SD himself is a great figure that can hold its own in front of the other 3 medium sized villains (much better than most Bionicle pilots..). The BP helmet isn't bad at all- SD's design is different enough you almost don't notice he has the same face as other 2 characters. Did anyone else find 2 extra gold barbs in the set? I stuck those in the Glatorian head side holes, so they act as a sort of secondary set of small horns. With Speeda, my Breakout collection is 100% complete. Dare to say, this might be my favourite Lego action figure line ever! Awesome looking figures, full variety of models (humanoids, animals, vehicles, figures of all sizes), never seen before colour schemes, lots of colours and great new pieces.
  8. Having the animal heads as masks is certainly a very good idea- it lets you play with the regular heads far more, such as trying on helmets, hair pieces, beards and other things. The birds and the mammals definitely use masks, I wonder if the crocs do too? I agree that the bird vehicles are the best, the Croc boat is very cool too. Like many others I'm not very fond of the Lions, they look pretty kiddy compared to the others- but since they're lions, I guess they'll sort of be the protagonists..
  9. You mean like those tubs with Vahki/Rahkshi/etc.. parts? Those kinda disappeared, didn't they? I guess they didn't sell well enough. I'd love something like that for HF, but it it seems unlikely. Then again, there's always PaB.
  10. That's what I was thinking about, actually. The Ravens give me the feeling of sky pirates, using a flying airship as their HQ would really help on that. It'd be like a flying castle-airship fusion of sorts, with some towers, a prison, and other details.
  11. Well, if they follow the Winter Heroes style, I bet something like this for the colours : Stormer: White, silver, blue or (unlikely) azure, tr. blue Surge: Blue, silver, lime or (unlikely) white, tr. neon green or (unlikely) tr. yellow Nex: Orange, titanium metallic, white, tr. bright green. Evo and Stringer seem like the big mysteries to me. Unlike summer 2012, the summer 2013 wave should have enough cool colours to even out the warm ones, so Stringer might return to orange or use "keetorange" like Stringer 3.0 and Jetbug...but I wonder about the transparent colour. Evo could be yellow, titanium metallic, dark lilac and.. tr. ??? I just hope it's not tr. reddish orange like his head in Breakout. Unlikely as it may be, it would be cool if they brought up tr. bright orange again- it's the colour of the Barraki eye in Stormer 2.0 and Stringer 1.0's core, and in Bionicle the colour of Jaller Inika's sockets. It would fit Stringer, at the very least. I know it's too early to speculate about Summer stuff, but I just couldn't resist.
  12. Also, I don't agree about the Speedorz price. These are going to be the replacements for the Ninjago spinners, so they better (for their profit) market them at a lower price, 12,99 dollars/Euro at most. Otherwise, the list seems pretty reasonable (aside from those things Algernon pointed out). Did you convert the prices found in that online shop? I'm disappointed there are so few Raven vehicles. I'm hoping for them to get a bigger set in the summer wave..
  13. Well, they've been splitting the team into two waves since this year, unlike the rotation system they used in 2011. We should be getting Stormer, Stringer, Surge, Nex and Evo is summer, if everything goes right. Really curious to see if they're going to keep the blue on Stringer or if they're going to return to orange..
  14. Ah, I forgot about Bulk's flick missile (which still is something pretty minor) and Vorox's brown. I didn't pay much attention to 2009- which is probably the reason I'm not so hot about the new villains- the organic/elemental feel just doesn't do much for me. Wow, I didn't notice all those buttons in the upper area (the one you mentioned and the paste buttons)..those are going to be useful, thanks!
  15. ^ God, is that a recent Megablocks set? Seriously, they're getting worse and worse. ^ To continue with the LoC defense- how are the minifigs megablocky? Have you seen the close up Ebay pictures of Razar (the raven man with red face markings)? He's a regular (highly detailed) minifig, with a torso armour piece and a bird head shaped helmet. He's not much different from a Castle knight in terms of complexity- if he were made by Megablocks, the head would've been one piece, the armour would have been fused with the torso, and the wings might have been detachable. The Eagles are going to have the same complex designs of the Ravens- we'll have to see about the other three factions (are they heads one piece or are those helmets?), but I bet they're following the same design.
  16. That would make "DEAL WITH IT- Hero Factory Edition" possible. I'm surprised how different from Bionicle has HF become in certain areas. The group of 6 theme has been completely forgotten, so much I forgot we actually had it all the way into 2011. And 2013 is showing two things I'd never thought to be possible in, say, 2009 (the last big year of Bionicle): the return of brown and the absolute absence of launching mechanisms. I wonder what changed. And I don't know if anyone noticed- each Hero has a matching villain whom they share at least one colour with: -Furno / Pyrox (tr. reddish orange) -Bulk / Bruizer (silver, t. metallic, orange and tr. reddish orange) -Breez / Ogrum (dark green and brown- ok, this one is quite forced given the minimal amounts of them on Breez) -Rocka / Scarox (gold and tr. neon green). I wonder if this hints at the match ups or is just an "artistic" choice. I personally liked the contrasting colours between the Heroes and their villain rivals in Breakout, but this isn't so bad- you get less colours, but a bigger amount of pieces for each of said colours...and the combination models should sport cleaner colour schemes (if those are the match ups and if they combine Heroes and villains like in 2012). The absence of colours like blue, white, orange, yellow, lilac, etc.. is easily felt however. EDIT: Oh, I hate how the text colour function works on the new forum. The preview showed a completely purple post, but it was actually 3/4 black.
  17. I really hope they follow on that in later waves. And did anyone see this? So there's an elicopter vehicle that can be detached from the Croc Boat. I didn't realize that at first, it's definitely a cool feature.
  18. I thought about the flip-up helmet! But I didn't figure out it'd work- but your idea solves that! It's not attached to the helmet per se, since it can be still removed in a certain sense. This would be great.
  19. I thought about them being one piece because I had the feeling Front's playing a little with us, like when he teased us about Stringer's blue. But I don't see it as something they would do. Maybe it's not "attached" but it's connected in another way (a synonym for "attached"? Anyone?)...... maybe I should stop thinking about this Just noticed your post wghost, great work!
  20. Way to destroy my certainties, Front :D Either it's one piece or..I truly have no idea.
  21. Yup. They're featured in Ninjago (at least in the Final Battle set, IIRC) too, right? They look like great pieces.I'm impressed with Razar. The amount of details is wonderful, he even has a dual side head (I'm very happy the head isn't one piece, BTW- I guess it'll be the same for the Eagles). Such a well done figure. I can't believe he comes in the cheapest set... And I realized the Ravens are like pirates. PIRATE RAVEN PEOPLE. How cool is that? I demand a flying ship as their HQ for future waves.
  22. I just noticed Furno's cover can be zoomed. Heheh. The details seem printed on the visor, which appears to be transparent clear (look at the top). The bluish tint comes from the markings (sand blue?). I'm impressed they managed to come up with helmets that look nearly identical to the old ones yet manage to be different and excting enough. I guess they had managed to do the same thing with the 2008 Toa Nuva masks, until those focus group kids turned the designs down.
  23. Furno sports a crown/helmet design around the eyes- and it looks printed too, since it has bold black borders lines. The question is- is it printed on the visor or on the helmet? I'm leaning towards the former. Looking at Bulk's helmet (which I really like, BTW!), it seems to me the visors connect via stud. And, Bulk has a green head.
  24. I love love love those minifigs. I'll definitely buy the smallest set, it's cheap, looks good, has the new wing elements and includes a great minifig. My favourite factions are the eagles and the ravens since I'm a big fan of birds in general- but really, the minifigs all look beautiful. Sadly my favourite set, as it often happens, is the biggest one, the crocodile boat. But I really like the eagle vehicle too.
  25. I didn't except my idea to be so popular too bad they don't sell them on PaB (actually, PaB needs badly to be updated..). I'm getting an extra Stringer so it's not a problem for me, but I would like to have 2-3 spares of them (though the 1,45 Euro price tag for the gun tops isn't so appealing..).
