So Pyrox is a Minotaur? And I watched Putting your Hoof Down for the first time yesterday It might be possible these guys used to be some wild animals before the brain slugs attached them. My theory about them being battle suits would be kind of correct then. It'd be different from Teridax's corrupt Rahi in 2001 and Witch Doctor's Quaza infected beasts in 2011. These brain slugs are actually taking control of their victims in first..ehm "person". Kinda like the Krana and the Kraata, with the difference they're controlling living beings. It's a new concept. Now, give us the Slug Queen as a summer set, Lego Oh, I forgot, I think this deserves mention: IRL (sorta) shots of the purple Zamor from the Galaxy Squad sets! 1 2 It looks like they're solid (like Stringer and Stormer's spheres) rather than transparent like I was hoping but hey, purple dark lilac Zamors.
-
Wow, the..castle is terribly disappointing. I hope we're getting a real building later in the year- I guess it will be a Lion Fortress (I like the Eagles a lot more, but kids dig lions I guess..). The Eagle Queen/Princess looks great, however! The Raven vehicle looks pretty cool.

Hello everyone, I'm selling the S@H exclusive Hulk minifigure, sealed in its polybag: http://www.bricklink...asp?S=5000022-1 Price: 20 Euro. I'm also selling two sealed Team GB Collectible Minifigures sets. I'm selling them for 3 Euro each. I ship worldwide. Payment methods: I'll decide which one with the buyer via PM. I'm new to this section. I hope I followed all rules correctly.

I wonder when we'll see hi-res pics/reviews of Warp Stinger or Space Mantis. I want to see those purple Zamors properly.
-
Zamor spheres were introduced in the 2006 Bionicle line as projectiles. They're..spheres, they have no connection points but they look quite cool, what with their vibrant colours. Two of the Galaxy Squad sets seem to include tr. purple spheres in the alien vehicles weapons, a color not used before for these pieces.
-
Oh? That's great. I can't wait to see them IRL, they should look marvelous. By impulseI mean, at least in this case, a cheap set (under, let's say, 15 Euro) that can be easily bought to get started on a theme, not the 3 Euro "minifig+some accessories" sets Lego sold a few years ago.
-
Well, I'm not a Space guy, but these do look very cool. I didn't except those android minifigs- they look fantastic, expecially the orange one. I'm definitely getting Space Swarmer, such a great impulse set. And forgive me for my superficiality, but are those purple zamor spheres I see?
-
Heck yes. I'm happy we're actually getting buildings along vehicles. I might actually save up for this one, provided it looks good and has both Eagles and Ravens. They're the minifigs I desire to collect the most (big birds fan).I wonder if it's going to be a more traditional castle or something which blends in technology more, like the vehicles. I'm hoping for an Eagles tribe flag, among other things.

I blame it on the fact we don't have anything new to discuss about to begin with, aside from the new heads, the slugs and the visors. And Furno's cape.. Little innovation in this wave. Hopefully summer will bring more stuff, with a probably slightly larger wave and the Chima figures.
-
Hmm, makes sense. Definitely a different way to see the issue, I hope you're right.I put the spoiler tags just to make my post seem less, how can I say it, invasive: it was too long, and the transition from purple text to regular text looked kinda ugly to me. I'll admit it, I just wanted to make it more bearable to the eyes. Oh, I forgot that! That makes much more sense now. I admit I didn't put much thought in the heads (maybe because I wouldn't have much use for those for MOCing purposes), but I agree they'd use Ultrabuild style heads. That would solve the tan issue nicely. I never saw this, pretty interesting. If they're indeed real it certainly changes things . I agree the lilac parts we got so far might be enough- that is not to say I wouldn't love more lilac parts, such as 5M shells. Nothing to add here, I guess. Thanks for the heads up on the Eagles' light blue hue- I knew it looked different from the usual medium blue. Thanks I'm happy we're finally getting a constraction figure cape that isn't tattered (Vezon, Vladek) or huge to the point of being near useless (Darth Vader). Well, except the Mathias/King Jayko cape.
-
First I'd wait to see what everyone else thinks- if they're cool with it, I'd say go ahead. Moving the recent posts here to that topic would be a good idea, might I add.

Thank you I simply highlighted the colour names. I made the colours as accurate as possible by selecting "toggle editing mode" and typing in the HEX codes, which you can find here. I agree with the silver weapons, that's what I thought too. Yeah, I wonder about the Gorilla clan (which is fully confirmed, apparently). I can see them using lots of titanium metallic for some reason, but they should use a bright accent colour too.. Oh, I just realized we might get big size versions of the minifig weapons. Those energy swords and gold axes.... Maybe we should create a "Legends of Chima Constractions Sets Speculation"? We're getting pretty off topic.
-
I never realized that about Rocka 3.0's helmet, lol. I always considered Furno's and Bulk's helmets to be the best armour pieces anyway, as they're not very..uh, bulky. Definitely agreed about the colours. That is, if the figures are guaranteed to be more minifig-accurate than the Ultrabuild Super Heroes were: as I'm sure everybody remembers, Hulk was lime green and Iron Man and Captain America used bright red/bright blue. Sadly I can see them, however, limiting the palette of the figures to the colours already used by HF. Green Lantern was the sole exception, because making him lime green would've been insane- otherwise, the 5 other figures used colours HF sets already used. Some speculation on my part lies beneath. Forgive me if I copy your style for a while Cirkit. The text would've be a pain to read otherwise! As I said I'm just speculating- considering how much Lego is investing in Legends of Chima they might release figures with highly accurate colour schemes. As far as I'm concerned, I don't care much if tan and light bley but I'd love some olive green pieces. Oh, I can see the figures reusing Furno's cape in new colours. And we better get some cool bird wings.

So that means the new head has a fourth hole on the front (mouth area)?! asdfghjkl
-
No way I'd forget that I couldn't to that with the mobile (along all the other cool things). Fixed now, with the right pic added too.Anyway, my thoughts on the sets remain the same, but there are some cool things (the visors, Breez's weapon being a double spear, Bulk storing his shield on the back) that make me like the Heroes more. I'm still on the fence about the Villains.
-
Flip up visors? I just hope we don't end up getting trolled and they're actually talking about those robot arms wrapping around the torso. But the visors flipping a la Iron Man would explain Front's words. I don't think the villains being ranked thing refers to size- that would mean Pyrox is the tallest and Ogrum the shortest, but both statements are false- Pyrox has the shortest legs among the 3 mid size Villains and Ogrum has Stormer 2.0/Rocka 3.0 legs. So Breez's weapon is a spear- that makes much more sense than a bow, still the way it is built makes it look really unstable. Bulk's shield attaching to his back sounds pretty cool. Whoops, I had typed bow instead of shield :P

Going by the teasers we got so far, it seems the Lions are going to be the main heroes (unsurprising ) while the Crocs are the main bad guys. The Birds might have a secondary/aiding role, for this wave at least, which is sad. Personally, the birds are enough and are the real highlights of the line.
-
Hmm, I didn't think about the 2.0 head. That could work. I can't believe I forgot about the Nidhiki comment. I remember how much I wanted that set back in the days...he's the sole 2004 set I'm keeping built and displayed. I would love a villain like him in HF.. I'm kind of realizing that the reason I'm not so excited about thr 2013 sets is that many of my favourite Heroes (Stringer, Surge, Stormer) are missing in this way wave. But even then, Rocka and Breez lack compared to their Breakout forms. So I hope we do get some more interesting designs in Summer. But even then, I can't deny I'm really excited for the new helmets+visors. The Villains, though- when I see them, I just don't get the "OMG this guy looks awesome, I want him now" feeling I got with 2012 Villains. I'll wait for better pictures.

No Glatorian head anymore?! I wonder if it's a similar looking remold with the new cup or a completely different head in terms of aesthetics/functionality. Anyway, I'm hoping for at least 3 axle holes. That's what I loved about the Glatorian head.
-
OOOH I think I got it (I'm talking about the villains). They use Glatorian heads, but they're flipped, so the helmets/faces can attach like masks. Like on Von Nebula. To be fair, I wasn't hyped for the 2.0 sets at first, because they looked so different. I wasn't sure of what to think. When reviews came out, I realized how brilliant the sets and the new building system were. I wasn't a huge fan of Savage Planet, but I can't deny that Rawjaw, Fangz and Scorpio (I never saw the appeal of Waspix, sorry) had some pretty clever designs and techniques. But Breakout Winter really took the best of 2.0 (colour schemes, futuristic feel, sci-fi weapons) and 3.0 (non-humanoid designs, transparent shells) and mixed them in a truly spectacular wave. There was a great mix of cheap and bigger sets, and of humanoids and non humanoids. I remember we had lots of things to debate: how the heck are Thornraxx, Jawblade and Toxic Reapa built? How does Splitface's helmet work? Do Heroes really use Glatorian heads? Are they using a new torso piece? What is the fourth head colour Front spoke of? Breakout Summer had more ordinary humanoids (XT4 was innovative in style, but his novelty element mainly relied on the new torso piece), but it more than made up for it thanks to the first vehicle set in a while, Stormer XL, the recolours (the MTIS in particular IMO), the new pieces and to the general "looks cool!" factor. I'm not ready to call the new building system fully exploited yet- I feel there are many techniques and pieces that haven't been taken advantage of to the fullest: the double C on Stormer XL, the hole-ball-hole liftarm, XT4's torso... I'm not excepting them to do something utterly groundbreaking, but I can see them pulling off something akin to Thornraxx or Jawblade again- I know the designers are fully capable of that. Scarox, at the same price point, pales compared to those two (building wise at least- I can't deny his head looks really cool), but I still feel it's too early to declare the death of the 2.0 building system.
-
I know, right? This wave has lots of nifty recolours, but offers little in terms of building innovation.. Aside from Furno and Scarox The Technic Mess, the others follow the usual humanoid build. And having only 8 sets, while not devastating, doesn't help things. I read again some of the 2012 topic to check when the Ebay auctions popped up. There was more hype for the 2012 winter sets, I remember all the excitement back then- so many new stuff to talk about, so many new concepts.. EDIT: Purpl'd.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion
Shakar replied to muscleman's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I agree, that Alien Trooper has to be real. He looks really good, too. The list seems nifty, I'm curious about the Battle Mech and the Fortune Teller in particular. The Fortune Teller could provide for some crazy cool accessories and recolours. Chicken Suit Guy? I can't help but think of the giant chicken Peter fought in Family Guy (back when FG was still funny..) (Meanwhile, Shakar can't find Series 8 in Italy anywhere). -
I forgot about that, but it could still work- Scratch that. I just took a look at Ogrum and the others, no way the "faces" attach like a Glatorian helmet: the whole top sections are missing, leaving no room for a built in axle rod. The Villain helmets are more like very bulky masks. I'm still wondering about Pyrox, but I guess his Ben 10 horns either attach to side holes on the helmet..or to the sides of a completely new head piece shared by all 4 Villains. A front attachment, much like (2003 onwards) Bionicle masks, seems more likely at this point, at least to me.
-
My guess is that the head connects like a regular helmet, but has an elongated and hollow section in the back in order for the slugs to slide in and attach. But Front is likely going to destroy my theory, leaving me shocked and puzzled. I just recently noticed that Breez's helmet has a mouth like Bulk's..huh, kinda cool. I wonder if they'll keep unique mouth guards for at least some of the Summer Heroes- Stringer's big, triangular, Death Vader-esque mouth guard pratically defines his helmet, and it'd be a shame to see it disappear.

That "apple-ish trans that Rocka used last year" IS tr. bright green. I guess you're right Aanchir, hopefully we won't have to wait much for better pics- we just skipped the "preliminary catalogue scans" part, but everything else is going on as every other Lego year (set lists, new themes teasers, online shop pics, Ebay auctions..). Hey, maybe we'll see some in hand pics from Ebay, like Reapa and Jawblade last year.
