Oh yeah, romance. Are we, like, allowed to ship characters now? Not shoehorning love into the story like some critics wrongly assume. Just avoid the "Matoran can't love, ever" that many people hated.

He's not the creepy abomination of 2001 for sure. That role may go to the MoUP, and I wouldn't mind it- I really like the idea of a mask being the ultimate evil. Bionicle 1 never did that.And I'm still going to call Ekimu Artakha in my headcanon. Ekimu, the Mask of Creation..sounds nice to me.

Jungle P. looks..lazy. I mean, rehashed tr. bright green shells and Surge lightning pieces? Surely they couldn't recolour those pieces to fit his mask? That said I do like the Protectors, even though I'm not getting all of them (3 at most, I think).

I personally ADORE the new Miru, but I can see how people can dislike it. Oh and: http://imgur.com/a/Coy18#7 link doesn't work, but I'm talking about the pic with Tahu and Fire P. Looks like the Protectors and the Masters Toa don't really combine, it's more about the Protectors giving their weapons to their respective Toa. Since they aren't real combo models, I guess there's still hope for the Kaita. And damn, the gearboxes make the Toa's shoulders look huge. They're integral to the Toa' look, I'll have to keep that in mind if I decide to remove the gear functions.

Kopaka being clumsy is hilarious when you think of it. He's arrogant, perfectionist and kind of a jerk so that trait keeps his ego down a bit. I just hope the Toa' "funny traits" aren't overplayed, I'm ok with a bit of humour but I don't want it to be overdone like on Chima. And TR. LIME? Oh well...so much for finally getting tr. yellow. :(

Watch it as the MoUP is the true villain. ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Honestly, with tr. purple getting introduced courtesy of the Earth sets, I wouldn't be that surprised if we actually got a good Makuta one day. That was just to troll the Toa though. "I'm going to shapeshift into the very thing you fight to protect just to toy with your emotions". He shapeshited his Kraahkan into a infected Hau, the symbol of Mata Nui, for the same reason. He likes twisting things for his own amusement. Makuta used to be biomechanical like almost anyone in the Matoran Universe, but one day they evolved into beings made of pure green gas/energy (Antidermis). They're contained inside special shapeshifting armours, so they're actually appearing in those shapes.

Yup, that is why I disliked them. And the tacked on "can sense/spread negative/positive emotions" was.. kinda cheesy, not to mention it was never used IIRC. Controlling stuff? That sounds like a useful power, and fitting for a villain too.Oh wow, just noticed why you guys say that E&M are small- their body designs are exactly those of Fire/Earth Protector. Still, I'm sure they're going to be Titan-size in toy form. Matoran-size would be anticlimatic to say the least. Kinda disappointed that Makuta is once again a black and red titan instead of the creepy thing he was in 2001, but we'll see how it plays out.

I think the design of the MoUP is going to be hidden for a while, just like with the Ignika. Gotta greate hype. And I like the fact that Makuta actually is the brother of the Big Good this time around. Oh and sorry but, Mask of Control >>> Mask of Shadows.

I'm going to guess that the brothers look that way because sets of them don't exist (yet.. their masks clearly look like something meant to exist in toy form). Their bodies are pretty big and detailed, which hints at them being at least Toa-sized.

PLEASE LET THIS BE THE ART STYLE FOR THE ANIMATED SERIES. I love it. Less CG crap and more 2D. It just looks like a 90s cartoon, which is awesome, awesome, awesome. Also, Ekimu is green and uses an hammer. Dunno about you guys but I'm going to call him Artakha.

From 4chan: Seems like they're going for the "asleep evil" route, which is interesting as it was rarely done in BIONICLE 1.Creation of things +Control of things = Life..makes sense. The scary thing is that it sounds an awful lot like my (non-BIONICLE) story.

I hope we're getting actual yellow eyes this time around. I know, they don't glow very well, but I am so sick of tr. lime eyes (my hate probably started in 2008, I wonder why).

Just noticed that Onua's weapons have two handle bars at the end, that's nice! And from Earth Protector's hips, the Protectors are fully confirmed to use the XT4 torso (not that there was any doubt). I'm curious about his/her and Fire P's torso build.. seems like the chest shells attach to the arm balljoints while the arms attach to Hordika necks.

Oh sweet Mata Nui, Onua looks epic! I still disagree with making him that bulky, but it's the parts that count, and they're great! The Pakari looks a lot better now, the hammer half/shovel/shoulder armour piece looks great as usual, and I'm really liking the chest design (little to no gold, hooray). As for Earth Defender.. looks like we're yet again going to NOT get a purple mask, but I had no plans for it so I'm not that saddened (others are definitely going to be though).. also, this confirms once for all that all Defenders wear in fact the same mask, sporting a dual colour blended motif like some 2007-2009 masks. This is going to be a bit limiting from a MOCing standpoint, but the designs we've seen so far look pretty subtle (with the secondary colour only taking a small part on top of the mask). And of course, TRANS PURPLE BONES confirmed. Glad we're getting colourful forelimbs for once (which happen to be ridiculously rare). They're pretty short, but they're better than nothing, and hopefully we're going to get another size in Summer or in 2016. And they're really going for a Mata/Nuva hybrid on these: Lewa's function (btw, love how the Miru looks from the side, dat grin) was kinda to be expected, but Onua's and Pohatu's... wow, so odd yet so awesome.

Fire Protector's mask is pretty much Jaller's Arthron. Watch as the all Protectors wear updated versions of the Mahri masks. Hey, I can dream. But seriously, its resemblance, in shape and colours is so uncanny it has to be intentional.

I meant series in the most general way possible. I was a bit in hurry when I wrote that so I guess it can sound ambiguous. I'd be ok with MNOG style animation, that was my favourite but unfortunately CG animation is all the rage these days (unpopular opinion here: I didn't like the movie designs very much).

I don't see where you get the Skull Spiders being undead from. They're likely called like that because they do look like skulls. So if Okoto is the new island, that means the document IS real, so there is an animated series planned, Greg is writing the new books and the summer wave is composed from only 5 sets.

I'm kind of shocked that, with Ninjago's overwhelming popularity, Lego never tried to do constraction sets. Maybe because they didn't quite realize its popularity (considering what happened in 2013)? Or because they think the building style wouldn't fit humans (they could explain it via "special magical armours" kinda like the 2012 SH Ultrabuilds)?

Pretty much this, most of the time for me it's about correcting a few wrong things in the sets (that often stem from budget limitations, other times..not sure what the heck sets designers were thinking), like missing armour or asymmetrical-for-no-reason arms . Sometimes though, there are so many things I don't like (often because I feel the model doesn't represent its character well) I just have to revamp the set while doing my best to keep its key elements (colours, weapon, mask).

I like printing only if it's over a piece we've never seen in that colour. Onua's black Hulk chest is something I wanted for years (literally) so I'm really happy it's a sticker. I was 8 in 2001 so needless to say I fell for it, hard. It's insane that it took so many years to make a completely purple character.. and we're still missing the hands and feet. That's a good point. I speculated the sticker base is gold because he has to match Tahu's an Kopaka's colour organization (they made a black chest for him instead of reusing the gold one from Gorzan), but as you showed it's acutally hard to predict. And, they might go for a "shirtless" effect on him to make him look really ripped (that's not Onua's character, but ah well).

I meant the chest design, yes. And he's using stickers for sure, like all sets with the Hulk chest have done. It's probably going to be a stain of gold with purple designs. The problem is that I want to rid him of all that gold..
