Kardas, no question. TSO comes close second due to my love for the character.

I like that Onua keeps getting the short end of the stick leaks-wise: he was nearly impossible to make out in the display pic, in the second batch of leaks his mask was sadistically covered by the PRELIMINARY stamp, and now his finalized pics are getting delayed. I'm still going to massively mod him (for...uh, mind canon reasons), but I'd like to know how his chest print looks (hope there's not much gold..) and if the tr. purple has been dropped or not (because I still can't tell). And speaking of purple, tfw you can use the Earth Defender mask to build the real Seventh Toa. EDIT: forgot to finish the post...

I really dig that Arthron-esque mask, though, and getting it in 6 colours is even better (wish there was a gold version though). But next time I'd rather see 6 brave villagers wearing recolours of the Toa masks.. you know who I'm talking about of course. And female Toa of Fire? Heck yes.

I wasn't sure about that theory at first, but the Earth P's stomach blaster IS a pretty hint. In that case, I hope we get real Matoran in 2016.

It'd be curious if Jay was Dark Azure, Gali in the new BIONICLE sets is using that colour as well (instead of her classic Bright Blue like Jay's). Maybe they're trying to push that color, like Bright Green in the Superhero sets?

I would've liked the Mistika more if they had more interesting weapons and builds... the problem is that, even if you ignored the characters they were supposed to represent they were terrible sets to me. Dull colour schemes, weak weapons (save for Onua's shield), and terrible builds for "Gali" and "Tahu" (I hope that whoever thought of using the Piraka torso backwards and uncovered has been fired). Onua was the only good one, his shield is still one of the coolest and most versatile weapons and his mask, though closer to a Kraahkan than a Pakari, was great. I liked the Phantoka a bit better (I'm keeping Lewa Phantoka built, standing on my desk along Lewa Mata, he's one of my favourite "Inika mods"), though I didn't like that Pohatu was so absurdly short (I'm fine with height differences, but that's too much) and Kopaka's bayonet was pretty bad. And the Midak Skyblaster was a lot better than that awful Nynnrah thing.

I remembered Greg saying him and the story team were discussing story plans in mid 2009, when a Lego guy came and informed them BIONICLE was canceled...I probably remember the wrong year.I wouldn't be surprised if the Mistika were a big blow to the sales, though. The set designs and most of the masks were simply awful.

Lewa's axle..ehm "handles" are the same blades Tahu wields while surfing, yes. The piece was introduced in 2013 in silver and tr. bright green (though due to the type of plastic, it ended up looking opaque like the Vahki eyes). Then, thanks to Chima, we got it in tr. blue and tr. red (which was pretty much solid red anyway). The gold version Tahu's using came in this year's largest Ninjago set. I do like the piece, but it looks very simplistic compared to the old and new BIONICLE weapons..so I'm not surprised they're using it as a secondary weapon for the Toa. It works nicely in transparent colours though, since it can represent an energy blade. Oh wow, I've been massively ninja'd. I forgot I need to constantly refresh here.

A soft reboot is what they tried to do in 2009...and it got the series cancelled. As for the Toa discussion: I don't want to jump to a new Toa team already- actually I don't even think we're going to get one for a while. HF, Ninjago and Chima have stuck with the same main cast, only adding new members once in a while (Evo/Nex/Rocka, Nya, Skylar, the Rhino guy who likes Eris IRRC). So I think Tahu and co. are returning in 2016 with new forms. I'm really curious on how the possible neo-Nuva could be. As Aanchir said, the CCBS allows for more interesting upgrades (rather than "let's slap some silver armour and call it a day"), and with HF Lego finally started to upgrade characters while staying true to their basic looks (this time getting the approval of focus groups, unlike 2008), which is what they did with the..ahem, Masters. It's no secret I have a strong dislike for the Kanohi Nuva- they took beautiful designs and utterly deformed them (ok, the Akaku and the Miru were decent, but still very inferior to the 2001 versions), the result being that they are nowhere as iconic and loved as the Mata masks among fans. Seeing HF's record, I think we're finally going to get Toa Nuva who look like proper upgrades, not distorted and mutant Toa Mata. Seeing new weapons is going to be pretty exciting as well, since they already took a lot of inspiration from the Nuva weapons with the 2015 Toa (Tahu, Kopaka, Gali, Pohatu in a way). Edited for better reading.

The thing is that the release pattern of 2001-2002 was kind of screwed up: the Nuva appeared right after the Bohrok swarm was defeated, so you didn't have powerful villains to pit them against until the Kal.. and people who got into BIONICLE in 2003 had to wait for Summer to get a single Toa set! Obviously they realized that a lot of kids are casual buyers and so each year had to feature a balanced number of heroes and villains..which was they began to do in 2004 and beyond. As for the Summer sets, when I read "5 sets" my mind immediately thought "Rahi!". However Greg said they're not revisiting old sets, and even if it's one of his half-truth answers, there has to be a set with the MoCr included (Somehow I don't see them taking the Ignika route). I just really want some big, big sets. Something like Kardas.

Brilliant idea. Let's hope they don't ignore you. Is Bricklink as elitist as Brickset is?

I think he's talking about Roodaka and Sidorak. Though Visorak were far smarter than the Bohrok so R&S were the leaders because the Hive accepted them as such.

Not sure what to make of it. If it's real, those 5 sets (smallest constraction wave ever, well after the second Slizer one :P) better be epic. It sounds incredibly fishy though.

I do agree Onua is too bulky and stocky this time around. Gorzan's build+longer legs would've been fine but this is going way overboard. Ironically, considering the character, it's not even the right build for him: it should be Pohatu who gets that type of body. Onua's a wise guy with average strength like Gali (which is why his Pakari is useful to him), while Pohatu is the big strong guy. I can see why they did it, though: they chose to give Onua the larger set because they thought he'd sell better than Pohatu (and since it's brown that got replaced in 2006, they might be right). But that's ok, this is Lego afterall and we can change all the things we don't like. And this way, we finally get the Hulk chest in black.

Whoops, I just noticed I made a mess. I meant to wrote that their UPPER backs look empty, where the gear box is. The lower backs are covered by shells, I already knew about that ("It's likely his lower back is covered like on the other Toa"). Sorry I made you waste a whole paragraph. Anyway, I hope you're right, though I'm more worried about the other Toa (Onua can be easily revamped, but their shoulder height is more unique). Hopefully their backs look good. Technic flowed well with classic BIONICLE (looks wise, I mean), but it's a lot harder with CCBS and its smooth and clean shapes. Most of the attempts to fuse Technic and CCBS looked pretty clmusy to me, ugly even.

See, this is why I have so many doubts about the gearboxes. It's likely his lower back is covered like on the other Toa, but as it stands their lower backs look so empty. Hopefully the new gearbox piece manages to bring some aesthetic appeal, but Onua's arm connection still looks pretty awful.

Speaking of Onua, I don't think it's a Ben 10 foot on his hammer. The shape looks way different, it's smaller, narrower and very smooth. Mark this- I'm willing to bet that is the same piece used for Lewa's shoulder pads. Ssssht, love doesn't exist in bonkles! It's official 'cause Greg said so!

I see a new part on the back of Onua's hammer. Maybe it's Lewa's shoulder pad piece? And did anyone notice that the MOCr is half black?

I'm guessing it has to do with the timing: back then, we knew very little about the new sets and we were pretty desperate for news. Now that we have more info, people are more tolerant to trolling.

That's true, translations are usually pretty good (well, save for DOTTOR WITCH), it might be they were in a hurry so they used Google Translate (it totally sounds like GT's work, it hates genitives). And I took a look at the gold Pakari. A bit wider than I expected but I do like it. Too bad the sets are still preliminary..j2g, we need you. :-D

Hey, that's Italian! And what the hell, LOSS is translated as "The Spiders of the Skull Lord" . It has to be a mistake, I refuse to believe they're this dumb. And I still can't make out the Pakari.

Yees! 30 Euro Artakha set confir... Oh wait. That sounded ok, though "Zodhopazik" was pretty awful. I'm eager to know more (or rather, something) about the story, but I guess we'll have to wait for NYCC. Greg said that once we know about the new plot we will understand why he can't continue the serials. It's probably a simple "It's a reboot, Lego doesn't want me to promote the old story", but I wonder if there's some greater meaning in his words.

You're welcome! And, I've been wondering, which Toa could manipulate weather on their own? Lewa and Gali joined their forces to create a storm in an early comic, but can Lewa manipulate air masses to cause (indirectly cause, not create out of, pun not intended, thin air) a thunderstorm, a hailstorm and such?
