  1. That looks BRILLIANT! I like that you used the silver feet, though I would've kept the tr. orange hands personally. I can't tell which pieces you used to attach his guns however. Did you use these twoperhaps?
  2. In the CG commercial the MoCr in LoSS's.. claws I guess glows red and the Spiders seem to multiply. So maybe they're created via the MoCr? I doubt LoSS on his own can create them though. I'm starting to think the Skull army existed before Makuta's betrayal and that he's using them (remember my Ninjago and Bleach examples?). I think the Skull Spiders are part of the army, while LoSS is just a random beast mutated/created by Makuta to act as his servant.
  3. More than a "evil" face, I'd say that it's a trick to cover her face. Those completely white eyes are a staple in many superhero animated series and at least one TMNT series.
  4. The lightning villain's head looks very creepy and useful!
  5. It still looks a bit too drastic. But that's just me: I never liked huge height differences between team members, I always tend to make the short one(s) a module or two taller: Carapar, Hewkii Mahri (Kongu? Oh, I completely rebuilt him, but that's because I strongly disliked that set), Pohatu Phantoka, the smaller Breakout Heroes.. I'm going to do the same to Pohatu and Onua. Good thing that it is a LOT easier to do with the CCBS.I think Pohatu should be a compromise between lean and bulky. He's supposed to be incredibly strong afterall, so I think some more bulk is needed for him. Like you said, a pair of dark orange or silver 4M shells on his shoulders using Gali's/Tahu's or Kopaka's connection would've been a step in the right direction. There are some more improvements I can think of (and that I'm planning to carry out), but I fear that they would've pushed him to the 20 Euro price point. I wonder if the new recoloured parts are being purposefully withheld or if it's just a colour scheme choice: PoJ makes no use of Lewa's bright green shells instead using the old tr. bright green shells (introduced in 2013), Pohatu but especially PoS(..t) use a limited number of dark orange shells (using the old silver 4M shells whenever possible). I suppose they prefer using a limited amount of the new produced recolours since they're available in smaller quantities, but I might be wrong on that.
  6. Indeed, we're just assuming that red eyed guy in the poster is Makuta, but what if he is actually the leader of the Skull Army (Skull Grinder?), serving as the final boss for 2015? It's the Disk One Final Boss trope:
  7. It's not THAT unlikely. Ekimu and possibly one of the new villain sets have already been shown in the animated episodes. It's been the trend since 2012 to spoil the Summer sets via animated media, not just for HF.
  8. I think the mask looks pretty cool, but it doesn't seem to have the large spikes of the animated version. Perhaps the mask isn't at full power yet, or it can shapeshift like the Ignika? Anyway, I'm surprised we already got a pic of it. It looks ready to be produced in toy form. And a polybag, eh. As nice as the IfB ones were, I'd rather see something like the black Brain polybag so we can get some exclusive recolour.
  9. I had this idea of using Onua's shoulder armour for Pohatu a long time ago (when I still wasn't quite sure of how to mod the Toa), it's cool to see that someone had the same idea and it actually looks good.. so I might go for it once I get the sets (and a extra Onua I'm planning to get anyway). I also like the use of Cragger's olive green elements. They really look good with dark orange, creating a very "natural" colour scheme. I wish they made the hands in tr. neon green, the hands matching the figure's secondary colour is a look I really like. I'm not sure of the gunmetal though, I think it clashes with silver. However it might not be a colour issue but a distribution one instead. I'd suggest putting more brown on the legs and perhaps moving some gunmetal to the arms area. Anyway, very cool and interesting revamp!
  10. Yeah, this is what I've been thinking of ever since the animation showed Ekimu wearing that Protector mask. An alternate colour MoCr wouldn't make much sense anyway (as cool as a, say, tr. light blue one would be). I'm personally hoping most of these are humanoid, I've had enough mith monster villains honestly. Sure, most BA and IfB villains were bipedal, but they were very animalistic looking. I'm hoping these are along the lines of evil Toa/Protectors. The "Scorpion statue guy" (which IMO is either Skull Warrior or Skull Scorpio) seems to be in line with what I'm thinking of.Now let's try to analyze the names a bit deeper (read: dump my thoughts below): I assumed the Skull Spiders plot would've been wrapped up by Summer, but it looks like they're but a part of a bigger army. It's not what I expected but it makes sense and I like the Skull Spiders a lot (very cool and creepy, and with amazing colour choices), so I'm very happy to see the concept being expanded. After years of insects, arachnids, reptiles, sea monsters and bats, it's exciting to see a skeleton theme in BIONICLE. It does mirror Ninjago's first year, which isn't that surprising: Ninjago is hugely, ridiculously popular, so it makes sense for Lego to reuse some of its elements. If done well, they can bring to constraction a never seen before "bony" aesthetic to contrast with the biomechanical Toa, resulting in great parts (ribcage-like chest armour, skull-like masks, bone weapons, etc..) and awesome designs. I'm also hoping to see more daring colour choices: it's the perfect chance to reuse dark blue and spring yellowish green from the Spiders while adding classic villainous colours like purple and dark red. All they really have to do in the end, though, is to avoid heavily Technic-based builds (that would be a real..loss) and put in the sets the same effort they put in the Toa and the Protectors.
  11. Well, I guess that kids' tastes have changed over the course of 7 years, but also keep in mind that the 2008 Toa were based on the Toa Nuva while these are based on the Mata. It might be that the Mata masks, with their simpler, cleaner designs, appealed to kids more and thus had to be changed less.
  12. I'd be ok with Makuta showing up in 2016, the only reason I'd like to see him in 2015 is because I fear we won't see another chance to get his pre-corruption form, which I like way more than his (IMO) cliched obviously evil form. It is easily one of my favourite villain designs in constraction ever, the black/gold/tr purple colour scheme is just way too good. I guess I'd be ok with not getting a set of him now if I knew we're getting a gold MoCo later, but we'd still miss out amazing parts like all the tr. purple goodness.
  13. Heh, this is definitely a nice present. The first four are definitely villains and Mask Maker has to be Ekimu (not sure why they didn't call him by his name, though). If they look anything like the scorpion guys statues, then count me excited. Just not another LOSS, please! Skull Grinder is what I'm really curious about. Ekimu being in a explicitly conflict based set suggests that his opponent is Makuta (and boy would I love that), but I don't see how "Grinder" can be referred to Makuta. Unless this is another Lhikan & Kikanalo scenario- Ekimu being packaged with a villain character despite the fact the two never met before. Also OT, I got the clear Hau yesterday and boy is it cool. Not just for its colour, I'm also happy because all the doubts I had about Tahu's new mask are gone. The shape is definitely not squashed and it's a great update over the original.
  14. Those are some good news, thanks! Since Tahu's shins are exposed, I was under the impression the add-on couldn't fit on a 2.0 shell, but now I realize it was just a budget issue. This is certainly useful to add some texturing, 92216 has gotten a bit old I think.Shame about the Breakout shell but it's not much of an issue personally, I like it a lot but I don't use it that much outside torso armouring. Technically Onua is the Earth Toa, but I guess you mean that as a manner of speaking. Yeah I agree, that was the reason I chose to not change his body build in the end. There are big guys (yeah he's short, but he's strongest one etc..) like Pohatu (who isn't dumb, but isn't an intellectual like Kopaka either) who are the loud and friendly type like the Boisterous Bruiser trope, then there are big guys like Onua who are smart and quiet, closer to the Genius Bruiser trope.
  15. I shall wait as well.. well, I got myself the clear Hau as a Christmas present, so I'll play with it a bit for now.
  16. If you want to make him that big, you might want to try using the large torso beam for him. Also, I'm not sure if the new piston add-on can fit on a 2.0 torso shell (the Brain Attack torso does, too bad it's so limited in colours). Personally though, I want to try a different look for Onua: keep his body as it is and lengthen his limbs while keeping those 4M shells (or 5M at most). The result being a wide, strong body with long, thin limbs, sorta like Core Hunter. I think it would fit the creepy looking thin-yet-somehow-large build he had in 2001 well. Now, Pohatu I'm going to make into a tank, while keeping an athletic frame underneath. I'm super excited to get these sets and customize them.
  17. Indeed, 32 dollars for a Toa is crazy when you think about it. I know you didn't call me an idiot I'm actually kicking myself for not having read the Ebay offer correctly, so I'm spontaneously calling myself as such.
  18. Onua in the end grew on me as well. I was having trouble seeing him as such a large character due to some personal head canon elements, but every team needs one or two "big guys", so while Pohatu (I'm making him a bit taller and bulkier) is the jovial big guy, Onua is the quiet, wise one. So, now that I decided to not change his body, the mods I'm planning aren't many: longer legs, standard 2.0 feet (as I find the Beast feet too..well, beastly) and maybe replacing gold with silver.
  19. Those are the prices we have to deal with here. Anyway, I deleted my post, that was actually a pre-selling offer- meaning that no, I'm not getting Tahu on the 30th (January 16th actually, which I guess is still decent if they're coming out in February) and yes, I'm an idiot for impulse-buying like this.Just noticed just2good (pun fully intended) is releasing some info on the Summer waves (Ninjago, Minecraft and a Technic set). Hopefully we're getting BIONICLE soon!
  20. Hey, this looks way better than I thought! And unlike the other sets, it looks like a real living animal, like a Legend Beast of sorts. The "Bionicle paw" is from 2014 actually, but the red colour is new and unique to this set. Is the new large fire blade piece used on its wings made of hard plastic or that rubbery material they sometimes use? Thanks in advance.
  21. Thanks for the info, it's curious that you got divergent results. Either way, it does give me some hope to see some more eye colours in the future. It's unfortunate that they don't care about eye fluorescence (that's the world..I guess?) anymore, but if that's the case we might get some zany colours like 2004-2005. I like fluorescent eyes, but I do value colour variety a bit more. But back on Tahu. Am I the only one who really likes how his gold swords look? They look like wings when raised, while when down they remind me of those big dangling scarves heroes wear in Japanese media. It's a whole new look I like a lot!
  22. I think that shoulder armour is very neat as well. Maybe it's the one Ekimu and Makuta wear (unless theirs is 15369 , but I still have doubts about that)? Between this guy and the Mask Makers (always assuming they get sets of course), Summer already looks very very promising. What is interesting is that the statues are decorating the entrance to a giant temple of sorts. Now I wonder who built it, scorpions are usually decipted as villains (look no further than the "Skull Scorpions" and Chima's Scorpion Tribe) so I can't see the Stone Villagers worshipping them. But the Skull Spiders certainly don't seem they could be able to actually build structures like this. So maybe there's a culture/group of villains we've yet to see? I guess it'd be sorta ok with it if we knew about that all along, but the FB page clearly stated "January worldwide release". It.. annoys me, to say the least, when they give out inaccurate info like this. Not to mention we always got HF in January. I'll see if I can manage to get Tahu and Gali a bit earlier (yeah, that's how much I want these sets ), otherwise I guess I'll have to accept it and wait (maybe I'll manage to save up some more money). I wonder that as well. Somehow I still remember when we got pics of the 2012 Summer sets- December 22nd, that is tomorrow. heavybreathing.mkv
  23. I've had the weirdest love/hate relationship with Pohatu. I was all for tr. yellow for him and I was nothing short of puzzled when it turned out that was actually tr. neon green. Ever since I've been planning to remove it and further change his colour scheme, first by adding dark tan and then completely replacing silver with gold. But the other day I had this sort of epiphany that made me realize that, different as the green is from his classic orange eyes, the colour combination is actually very cool, fits with Pohatu's powers in my headcanon, and yes, I actually want to keep it (still want to add some dark tan, though- I tried it on LDD and it looks lovely). Pohatu's real flaw is his rather bare bones, simplistic build. Unlike Gali and Lewa, he has nothing interesting going on for his shoulders and doesn't even have back armour. Shame really, there was room for a good 10-20 extra pieces here that could've filled him out a bit. Also, I find him to be too short, the height difference between him and Tahu (the tallest of the 6) is too dramatic.. but I know many people are ok with this, so I can't call it a real flaw.
  24. I probably missed some discussion, but did anyone notice the statues in Pohatu's video? Whom are they decipting? Just a random figure? Or a possible future character/set? What is weird is that the figure has Toa-like proportions, but wears a rather evil looking mask and sports a scorpion tail. Sure looks like a villain to me. And, quoting myself since no one replied:
  25. So, is it confirmed or not that Europe is getting a February release? That'd contradict the official word from the Facebook page and the retailer catalog (the one -in Italian! Somewhat ironically- where we saw the new Pakari for the first time)...and it'd suck, since I really really really want these sets asap. Apologize if my phrasing feels shoddy, it's late here and I'm getting sleepy. : S
