  1. We really need a new hospital (theme) and a gas station. Also, not ashamed to say it, bring back Paradisa-style sets under the CITY theme
  2. I hate to use such an overused and now stale word, but the Mario sides are E-P-I-C.
  3. Being a mechanical engineer, boy am I familiar with these---and you captured their look. Nice job!
  4. That's too good---it's not fair! The walls are just great!
  5. Not everyone is 99.999% sure the next modular is a pet shop. I'm only about 34.932% sure myself...
  6. It's brilliant! One of the stranger concepts indeed, but you made it very well into LEGO scale. Is it minifig-ready?
  7. If you have the cash for it and think you can make a MOC out of it, buy it. It's what, 240 USD for 4200 pieces? That's amazing value, plus it has lots of tan---one of the best colors for MOC buildings especially when it's done big modular style.
  8. Very nice! The plant life detail is what I found to be the one I'm staring at the most in this great, great MOC.
  9. I go all the way---interior, back wall, exterior. Like the other MOCers above me, Cafe Corner pulled me back in, although Green Grocer was my first set in 10ish years) I probably wouldn't be collecting LEGO again if it weren't for super=detailed modular sets. Which is why I havent posted MOC buildings as of late--it can get real expensive real quick!!! But oh so worth it.
  10. Awesome! I'd imagine this will be one of the first among many versions of a modularized 3661, and this one's a stunner! Large glass facades fit very nice for a bank and ROFL at the bandit---that's a nice touch.
  11. I like that it looks like a 2011 version inspired by the early 90s station---that was my first town set, and I believe still is the best LEGO gas station of all time. Very nice.
  12. That goes without saying I don't have a beef with 21st century CITY/Town (In fact I favor it, and I just picked up my 3661 Bank, may get another) so it's not a generational thing. This marina's just lacking OTOH that Boat transporter truck not pictured here (but it's in general forums) looks very prime from the blurry pics...
  13. Goodness, that CITY Fire Truck is immortal.
  14. Just compare the new Harbor set to the old 6543 one. It doesn't even hold a candle. This is not like the Fire or Police sets that we have a new version every 3 years to compare to, so when I look at 4644 I immediately think of how superior 6543 still is.
  15. Wow, very art deco, Like they say This is a great MOC, interior's great, another great MOC for team modular
  16. $50 bucks for 3661... my prediction is on target I'll take one (and another, later). For a CITY building that bank is highly detailed, almost exclusive-level might I say (Town Plan/Winter building-level)
  17. Well, if there's a modular in 2011 then it's more tightly guarded than ever. 10211's images didn't surface until weeks before release, but it was known to be a dept. store months prior. This year no one even knows for sure!
  18. Analog meter sticker's brilliant. How'd you print something that small?
  19. Cool! I'm going to California in 6 stores. I hope I land on at least 1 store out of the 6 there (Visiting relatives from both NorCal and SoCal) and hopefully snag some of these bad boys.
  20. Hey all, seems like a year ago talks were already in full force regarding Grand Emporium being Modular 2010 and it's got us chatting up until release. But so far, not much buzz for Modular 2011? Will there be a release? Any idea what they would be? I heard murmurs in the City thread about some petshop, but that's about it, and I can't even find those murmrus again. Anyone else have info?
  21. I like that bank. Wow. Really sleek building for a typical 6x16er, rare colors used like dark blue helps. It's facade doesn't even need to go 'big modular' style; just make it bigger and put the back wall and it's ready to integrate. Armored van is prime, too. How much is this? $50 a good estimate?
  22. Brings me back memories! I own a good chunk of those 90s sets from the port to the gas station and police stations. (My sister technically owned her Paradisa sets lol)
  23. 1996 (or 1997?) version os the best, the one right after 6398. It has a small harbor, police boat, and the jail's on an island Alcatraz style (and 8 figs IIRC); what's not to like? Version 2008 and 2011 are my next favorites, still haven't decided, but it's like they can coexist rather than replace each other.
  24. The police chase cop car looks like some sick Mustang/Camaro cop car. Do want. Also, the bank.... what to say, what to say... If I were to put a bank on my city, it would either be: Modular-style with brick/stone walls and house-like windows, much like my local banks here... or, get 50 (LOL) copies of that 3661 and make a slick skyscraper out of it. I want, because of that armored van, though.
  25. How's that different from any other town/CITY buildings ever? And I really like this cop station. Probably the best since the 1996 version, IMO. I might take it (if modular 2011 isn't a cop station)
