  1. Thanks! GG still the best modular model, but GE wins in a landslide when it comes to part selection. So AFOL/MOC friendly! Nice!
  2. It's nice, the colors match BP's very well, and the interior is rather cool. That said... I can only support the local company, Octan! [/roleplay]
  3. Available now... they better have a fat initial stock, because I'm not buying mine just yet... And my first one may even be just for parts...
  4. You can always buy a small LEGO car (They're not expensive) or check out their instruction sheets out, for 7236 police car, 8402 sports car or 3177 small car and see how the official sets do it.
  5. Both the 5 door and the 6 door have their advantages. 5 door makes better double doors, 6 door can easily make revolving doors. EDIT ---> meh I just realized that you don't use 'doors' to make revolving doors!!!! *stupid, stupid* So yeah, I think 5 doors have the advantage here. Too bad there aren't enough of them nowadays
  6. Not surprised some people liken it to a crossover/CUV, I mean after all if I just remove a few pieces and lower the ride height it becomes a hot hatch! Thanks!
  7. Awesome pics! Thanks... The 1st-floor escalator is a bit awkward, needing two brick heights to jump it up the right height. First floor ain't got nothing on GG in terms of detail. Heck it's only slightly better than Cafe Corner's nothing interior. So yeah, this is probably the 2nd best Modular overall, with IMO the best looking building design. And oh yeah, $150 USD is just ice.
  8. This $3.50 set is the best for all my hinge piece needs. This thing has a metric crapload of them. Ok, 12, but that's still a lot. Also, so those antenna things. As a town/CITY collector this set gives me easy access to parts and color that I dont usually have or can't easily acquire. So I'm buying a bunch more of these.
  9. Very nice! 5-wide chassis, interesting SNOT techniques and nice bed construction.
  10. Thanks for the comments, yall! I have the pieces for a red version... except doors. I also have the pieces for yellow... except a 4-wide wedge roof. It sucks! Yellow wedge roof missing? Acceptable. But I can't believe I don't have red doors in my entire inventory! Hah I'd be honored! ~~~
  11. Hey again, posting my first LEGO CITY vehicle since returning to LEGO from the dark ages: Small SUV! Chromed grill! I have a few of those pieces luckily 'Altezza' tail lights, or at least an imitation... Side view. And yes, most of its pieces are gotten from the 7236 Police Car. The chassis plate, the mudguards, the weird-looking SNOT piece in the front and back are all similar, as well as with the 8402 sports car, so the basic construction is standard CITY style. Of course, with a few CREATOR pieces lying around, there were some basic improvements (like the door). Also, I jacked up the height 2 plates, made it a wagon, put some custom grill guards and steps, and apparently the car turns into an SUV, so here it is. Easy work Comments? Suggestions?
  12. Yeah, no. North America's probably just about the largest market share of LEGO in the world by a huge amount, we're going to have 2 LEGO theme parks in the future, have more than 4 times the amount of official stores than the rest of the world... etc. LEGO loves North America. So your idea is to sell cheap to the rest of the world (that's minus profit compared to right now) and a substantial major loss in the US market (minus massive profit) I mean, did you even think this through?
  13. I'm just going to stick to the current CITY scale for now; 4-wide chassis for smaller cars and SUVs, 6-wide for bigger SUVs and trucks. Though with tires sometimes bulging out, side mirrors and whatever trinkets attached to the vehicle these guys are actually closer to 6-wide and 8-wide respectively. But whatever One thing's for sure for me; I'm probably not going to build those 8-wide body trucks that are just heueueg and LEGO releases once in a while (like 7998 and the new off-road behemoth fire truck)
  14. Of course, CREATOR houses are and will always be vastly superior to anything these open-backed town sets would have to offer. But it's a very good CITY set anyways, with desirable minifigs. How long ago since we've had a big residential building like this in the town/CITY line? Forever ago?
  15. 10211 is already probably on some LEGO stores. I remember me and a few other getting stuff like the 3177 car or the repair truck on local sources like the stores or TRU well before it went live on S@H.
  16. These things wont be in the LEGO/construction toy aisle let alone the toys&games area, just to be clear. Only in Easter Sunday section (You wont miss it in my 2 Target stores). Memphis TN has plenty of all these guys.
  17. I actually like the stock version better. Reason being that I already have 5 of these guys and modding all of them will be a hassle I played around with 3177 like you did, with the side mirrors (ended up getting rid of it like you did). You can try putting the higher-sloped windshield instead (found on the 7236 cop car) and put cheese slopes in front, it works fine too. But then it looks closer to a Mini than a smart this way.
  18. ^Well it looks like this house would fitter in a city theme (imagine that!) than in a suburban theme like the CREATOR houses, so the lack of garage doesn't bother me. Most houses in cities tend to not have garages and only parallel park their car. Now that I look at it again, the fact that it looks almost like a palette swap of the 7641 Pizzeria is a tad disappointing. Just a tad. Otherwise it has some good elements going on. Me? I'd probably mod it into a 16x16 Market-Street Size house.
  19. ...the House. 8403. What else could I be talking about here?
  20. That's a nice house! Buying that one fo' sho. It's like a throwback to the 80s town sets... Yep, sold.
  21. Nice, Very nice. Awesomely suburban. I was thinking of buying 2 of these and doing something like that as I did with Family Home x2, but those weird green baseplates is holding me back
  22. Heh, maybe it's only a "TRU Exclusive" here in the states
  23. Some of the comments here are just facepalm worthy. Anyways, Maybe they're just trying to keep a tight, tight lid on things. Take Grand Emporium which wasn't exactly revealed to the general public until very recently, and it's official sale is set for next month with some already getting early copies right after the reveal. This will be more unpredictable when they reveal it, and I like it. We had clues about how Grand Emporium would look like when there weren't official images yet, that it would look like the old Macy's/Harrods type of department store with tan walls, ice cream vendor etc... But this mythical exclusive, we really don't even know what it would be. Truck Stop only seemed to be a general consensus but no one really knows for sure. TRU Exclusive only means it won't be sold on other large chains like Wal-Mart, Target or any other big stores. The green Cargo Plane was a TRU Exclusive, for example.
  24. Well, still hoping the TRU here in USA will carry that big exclusive. Also, that Exclusive ill no doubt be on S@H anyways.
  25. I'm dead serious. Sure the Education Police looks kiddy, but the look of that thing looks more like a real life Police Station rather than the CITY 08 Police Station. Town/CITY Police Stations are always some of the biggest and most fun to play with (I had the 1996 one... or 1997?) in all of Town/CITY lines but you gotta admit they're a bit ridiculous and over the top, literally sometimes, as they are often the tallest buildings in all of the Lego Town/CITY sets.
