  1. My sincerest condolences about your mother. hope you're doing alright now! Well this is a SHOCKING revelation! ;) I've mostly had the same experiences as MechaMike. I'm in a younger age-bracket so anything now mainstream like lego is cool, but I certainly don't wear and carry around things that broadcast it to the world. Sure, it comes up in conversations from time to time, but I usually am involved in a range of hobbies that allow me to talk about other things. LEGO is mostly a therapeutic and personal experience for me. The building just helps me relax, while conventions are just a fun way to meet friends you don't get to often see. I sometimes cry (in the good way) when there's a LUG meeting and I'm just browsing the store and people see my builds that i bring then get all excited. It's really heart-warming, though sometimes it makes me a little uncomfortable (I don't always like spotlights... seriously, they're so bright and annoying!) .... and free lego. Lots and lots of free legos.... ;)
  2. Swell job! Dun dada daaa!
  3. Yo why you gotta dis galidor man? ;) DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING! I quadra-infinitieth that. This is actually a really interesting discussion as it's really difficult to come up with sets pre-2008ish and beyond, because lego was only starting to gain popularity. Before the internet, a lot of communication it seems was just what you and your friends thought. Plus as a kid (at least for me) you NEVER complained if you got lego, you were just happy to get it! That being said, anything from the 2010 first wave of hero factory. Interestingly enough, this is also around the time I had a job and was starting to by my own lego rather than begging my parents and hoping my birthday would come soon. I think it's safe to say many people disliked it. Though to be fair many of them were pro-bioniclists, that probably left the hobby by the end of the year, while everyone else mellowed out and bought a few. Great discussion, hope you get a good video out of this!
  4. Wow, was not expecting this beauty!! Nicely done!
  5. It's Metroid's 30th anniversary, so I'm doing a few builds to celebrate! This one is the big green, mean dinosaur boss Kraid! Back: Metroid, Samus and all related names, images, etc. are property of Nintendo Co., Ltd. All Rights Reserved. View it on flickr!
  6. Such a beautiful comment that it made me cry a little, thank you! Thanks, indeed it is! Thanks guys! Haha, perhaps those sand sleep creatures have got you in a dream? ;) I'm afraid this is the only picture. I subscribe to Mr. Xenomurphy's style of minimal shots, because it keeps the viewer mystified, and after all, a magician never reveals their secrets! Please enjoy though! On another note, the build was featured on the Doctor Who Fan Show! It's at the 19:19 mark!
  7. Very impressive, well done!
  8. Lovely work as always!
  9. Thank you my friends! :') Truly such kind words that I'm not worthy of. I'm happy that you think so though. Thank you! ^_^ Thank you guys!
  10. I made the Cyberking from LEGO Dimensions. Check it out on flickr. Cheers! *Doctor Who, TARDIS and all related names, images, etc. are property of the British Broadcasting Corporation. All rights reserved.* *Cybermen created by Dr. Kit Pedler and Gerry Davis.
  11. that's ok. I have to live in a city where our home-team hasn't won the Stanley Cup (hockey) in over 40 years.... Lame sports team and disappointing repertoires aside, what is Class exactly? All I know is that it's a spinoff. Is it a Clara spinoff? More importantly.... what's the news on series 10?>> I know it's only been 2 weeks but I miss Doctor Who already! I always look forward to Easter because of it :(
  12. Beautifully reworked, well done!
  13. I'm doing my version in light grey for the main console floor, but the surrounding edges will be dark bluish grey.
  14. Batman vs. Superman sets. They look really good, way better than I thought they'd be. ^_^
  15. Wow, I remember so many of these! So glad you were able to find them too, that 'train entering the pyramids' one is my absolute favourite and I've been searching for it everywhere! Please keep posting more!!
  16. Ah, I see. Awesome, thanks for the clarification. Hope England did well ;)
  17. What a beautiful Christmas special. I don't know about you guys, but while I wasn't big on River's character arc through the seasons, the send-off was absolutely mind-blowingly good. The humour was great too, really was a "perfect" Christmas special, something nice and fun to snuggle up to after a good day... and much better than "Last Christmas" I found. So, does anyone know about the future of Doctor Who? Like, is there going to be a series 10 with a new trailer in July? I've heard that the ratings have declined quite a bit in U.K....
  18. Jared

    Canadian Eh?

Mastermind toys at Lawrence and Yonge in Toronto HAS them, but they won't be on the shelf until Jan. 1st.
  19. Just got the IDEAS set today! The Toysrus in Toronto have them early on the shelves for some reason (they put them out Sunday) and i managed to get 2!! Had such a blast building the set, you literally feel like a kid again, putting everything together, and the set is stellar! top notch A+ stuff!! Really hope there's a theme to follow suite if the set sells well!
  20. First time since I've ever ended an episode just blankly staring at the tv screen with my mouth gaping open and my mind blown into a zillion trillion gajillion infinite dimensions without having any words to describe the unbelievable unbelievable-ness I've just witnessed. Seriously. I have no comment. You know you've done a good job when the viewer is left with a feeling even after the episode is over. I started out hating this season for being so bad, and wow.... these last three episodes have been unbelievable, probably the best Doctor Who ever made, and yes, waaaay better than the classics. Anyway, I could gush about it forever, but instead I suggest you check out the trailer for next week's episode.... but be warned... SPOILERS! In other news, this week is probably the greatest week in DW history next to the 5oth anniversary week. The squealing and incomprehensible anticipation for next week's finale, the xmas special trailer airing and the xmas episode being just 3 WEEKS AFTER THE FINALE, AND AND AND THE LEGO IDEAS DOCTOR WHO SET COMES OUT ON TUESDAY!!! AND *SPOILERS* THE NEW ANNOUNCEMENT THAT THERE WILL POTENTIALLY BE A LEGO DOCTOR WHO SERIES OF SETS AND A CMF LINE!!!! IF THIS ISN'T HEAVEN SENT (SEE WHAT I DID THERE?!?!) I DUNNO WHAT IS?!?!?!?! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IM SO EXCITED WHY AM I YELLING?!??!?!?! KJFBDJSKGBUBVUD;NSJKNCLKVNCJZKVNKJZBJKFBJKBFJKBbjkdbkjvbfkdjbdjkbjfkbkjfd
  21. hehe, aliencat finally posted! Anyway, nice job!
  22. I've hated the first two episodes of the season and haven't bothered watching the rest (mostly because of work) but I did watch "Sleep No More" and was PLEASANTLY surprised by just how good it was! Really! Very well-paced episode, I loved the inclusion of the "found footage" style and how it was weaved into the plot, and for the first time in forever (please don't start singing) the episode had a very satisfactory ending, in that it didn't force-feed you some silly ending, but made you wonder and imagine.... definitely Doctor Who at its best. Face the Raven was BRILLIANT. Absolutely brilliant. So happy they brought Rigsy back, and although I have NO idea who Maisie Williams character is (if someone could fill me, pwetty pwease) she was fantastic. Just the way her attitude and demeanor change when clara reveals she has the chronolock... gosh, why it took so long to get this good is beyond me, but hey, I'm not complaining! While I do feel Clara's death was woefully drawn out, I'm so glad her death was just purely and simply something that happened, and not some "big cataclysmic event" or something. And Peter Capaldi as the Doctor.... wohoho, I SO cannot wait for next Saturday... just the delivery of that last line... "You'll find the universe a very small place when I'm angry with you..." what I'm tying to say is... I am definitely one satisfied Doctor Who fan. How have you guys been enjoying the season?
  23. Cool, I love the way you used slopes to give the wall some texture!
  24. Go Cecil go!
