Build for the LEGO Dimensions toypad and all the sets. WIP
Jared replied to KlodsBrik's topic in LEGO Licensed
:o This is so incredibly brilliant that's it's beyond ingenious! Seriously! Especially digging that Doctor Who one, very, VERY nice! So great to see you building again!! -
What, no doc ock in the tub? Haha, very cool and well-built!

I can verify that this is indeed true. As most have been saying, it's possible but I wouldn't get your hopes up. Although, in recent years thanks to LEGO Ideas and some very interesting choices made on the part of LEGO, we've ended up having a movie that is now considered "Citizen Kane" level food-for-thought (at least to me, but I'm not very bright anyway, so whatevs...) as well as LEGO Doctor Who, something that no-one in a BAJILLION years would have predicted. I mean, think about it, 10-15 years ago, could you as a child or an adult have imagined that? I mean, sure there was lego SW and bionicle, but don't you think people would have laughed their bricks off if you ever said anything about LEGO making "Back to the Future" or Doctor Who? So, I guess.... be optimistic, but realistic in your optimism. Though seeing as the set has sold ok, LEGO might do the BTTF3 train....

Thank you so much! Thanks! The technique is based on a previous build I did actually! :') Too many kind words.... thank you, I treasure them dearly ^_^ December 1st is right around the corner! :D Thanks! If you like this, you're going to love my next few projects, which may or may not involve a tardis interior.... Also, glad you ordered it, definitely worth it! Thanks! I actually stole the idea from myself when I built my metroid prime display:

It's lego, "imagine" he's wearing one! ;) That or you could just pretend he forgot it that day or whatever. Definitely buying two copies just to have two versions of Matt smith! And in case I didn't already say it, excellent review! Having got the doctor who dimension set today, I'm bouncing around my house with excitement in anticipation for the this set!!

My dreams have come true. Today, November 3rd, 2015, I was able to get my hands on the first ever LEGO Doctor Who set (LEGO Dimensions Doctor Who level pack to be exact). Nothing can express how excited I am... except maybe this build I whipped up in a click. Based on the Doctor Who episode Flatline. Actually I forgot to mention something interesting. It seems there was a big delay in shipping to a bunch of stores. Yesterday I called all 3 lego stores in Toronto AND Bestbuy AND EB games, and none of them said that the Dimensions Doctor Who had arrived even though the release was today. Luckily I called Toysrus just in time to confirm that they had some, but only 6, and that it was first-come-first-serve basis. So I arrived at the store early and managed to nab one (couldn't take a second because of limited selection) Crazy though. Apparently LEGO store said they may not even have them until Friday this week. *EDIT*: I feel for you man. I wish I could send mine over but between the time it'll take to get to Denmark I'm sure you'll have already gotten one by then. Trust me though, when you've been waiting for LEGO Doctor Who as long as I have, this was NOT something I was going to miss out on. ;)

Just got the Dimensions Doctor Who today!!!! OH MY GAAAAWWWWWWDDDDDDD! Can't wait to get home tonight and put up my little project! The actual figure is even more awesome in the flesh (excuse the pun), and all I can say is that years of waiting have FINALLY paid off.... oh my giddy aunt I've been shaking from excitement for the past two hours and keep pinching myself to make sure it's true!!

Lol, I'm currently working on a TARDIS too and was having the same trouble. If you view the TARDIS on google maps the Eleventh Doctor's TARDIS makes them look blue, but the new one makes them look dark bluish grey. So I think I'm going to go with Dark Bluish grey for now.

Yours is fantastic, hats off to you! Nicely done! I especially like how you've expanded the base!
-
These are amazing, nicely done!!

Nah, it should be more like that "sw golden 3po" thing they had way back when, except it's not a limited number, but you just happen to get that doctor exclusively as like a "bonus figure" in the set. That way it would be available for everyone and would encourage people to buy ALL the sets even if the same current doctor like Mr. Capaldi is in different sets. Like, maybe a Zygon set based on the upcoming episode from series 9 that includes the 4th Doctor as the bonus fig (since they're more often than not associated with his era) and the graveyard with cybermen from series 8 Dark water with the doctor, clara, master and either 1st, 2nd or fifth doctor as the extra doctor minifig included!

Yeah that's true. Like LEGO dimensions gives him the flat hair. Nonetheless, I definitely say get a zombie businessman, the hair is probably THE most accurate to Matt Smith's.
-
Unfortunately that's a little difficult at the moment due to limited access to my collection, camera, etc. It's not too hard to imagine.... plus I think the cmf s6 Sleepyhead hair is much better suited for the Tenth Doctor, no?
-
Why not the zombie businessman's from cmf series 14? https://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=120&itemID=138304 I'm currently using it and it looks fantastic!
-
I made one of my own too!

Or a builder like me... :'( On a side not, has anyone posted a link to the brickset review? Also, very happy that we're getting two versions of daleks w/ Dimensions and the Ideas set. Gives a lot of choice. As a builder, quite glad they decided not to go with mold (yes I know IDEAS can't have new molds but they could've easily made a new mold for Dimensions and gotten away with putting it in the set...) . December 1st can't come soon enough (and neither can Nov. 3rd!)

While I'm not the biggest train fan, the Flying Scotsman has always been a personal favourite of mine. Seeing it crafted so beautifully with such attention to detail is mind-bogglingly awesome. Thank you for sharing! Hopefully next year I can even make it to STEAM to see it myself in person!
-
So just to be clear, we're getting "power ranger" daleks in the IDEAS set rather than the bronze revival ones? I'm a little confused, and if that's the case, VERY glad I've ordered two copies of the Dalek/Cyberman pack.... ;D
-
Aw man, it looks great! Darn this excitement building! I can't take it! Wish they'd reveal it already! Waaargh, LEGO doctor Who!!

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Jared replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Nah, it's WAY more fun when the Master/Missy is totally doing it for the laughs + master = bonkers. Adding reasoning kinda destroys it, unless there's a bigger plan overall... -

Does the Master/Missy REALLY need a reason to do anything? At least a "logical" reason? This part never really bothered me.... -

Same. Kinda confused after you previous post though.... ;) -

Lol, I knew I wasn't the only one who thought it seemed familiar. Not too sure how I am with this whole "trying to by sympathetic to daleks" stuff. Was definitely pleasantly surprised by the whole Davros and Doctor "old friends" bit. Nice to be kept on my toes again. ^_^
