  1. I don't disagree, I would love nothing more to have something concrete either way. I am certainly open to discussing said rumors. As for the original versions I really think its on a case by case basis. In general I find corrections to picture quality, color, resolution, film speed, etc as well as sound to be well within the realm of acceptable change. As these changes often occur due to change of video format. And it's not unusual for minor tweets to be made from the screen to video. These changes don't alter the storyline and often correct mistakes that were missed or correctable due to change in technology. I, like most people are more interested to changes to scenes such as Han shooting first, the addition of background creatures, and the changing of characters in a scene. I don't plan to,list every one but you get the general idea.
  2. It's kind of like those burritos that are as big as your head.
  3. Let me say I understand as well and appreciate the time and effort required to do this. So thank you. People should realize that you have a relationship with your source to protect otherwise these previews will quickly go away. I get that you are trying to build excitement and make people feel apart of the preview with your straw poll. Unfortunately it ends up being more like chumming the waters when your boat is already surrounded by sharks. It seems to as always be contained to two themes where as we know a little hype tends to create a feeding frenzy. I find it sometimes best not to give options as it simplifies the process and give less for people to fight about.
  4. I'm not saying I believe Disney is going to release the blu rays but I find that article greatly lacking. Those arguments get used all the time and it's basically using one rumor to discount another. Lucas supposedly said those things long before he sold his company, another thing I'm sure he said he would never do. But $4 billion dollars can do a great deal to change never. Plus the simple idea that two companies are required to release the blu ray is hardly a major obstacle since both would benefit. Neither side benefits by not releasing and it's hardly a new concept in Hollywood for movies requiring more than one party to be released. If someone is going to refute this rumor they need to come up with some more compelling reasons beside just saying it's not true because they don't believe it.
  5. Yes but they are out numbered by the deer and antelope who play.
  6. There is a reveal on Facebook for October 6 and another November 21.
  7. Just2good, great job. Love the pics. Definitely getting the double decker couch set, the minifig selection is going be a big hit. I agree the builds are ok, but is think the point of the sets is for people to get minifigs they might have missed in the larger sets.
  8. Anyone else see this? It's a little old but is news I seem to have overlooked. Anyone know more? http://comicbook.com/blog/2014/08/16/exclusive-original-unaltered-cut-of-star-wars-trilogy-to-be-rele/ If it's true it's wonderful news.
  9. Did the bowler hat turn out to be a placeholder?
  10. Made me think of Sauron when I saw the pics. I know zero about bionicle,, is it just action figures?
  11. It's very unlikely a pirate ship would have been painted white. In that era paint would have been used mainly for camouflage. The hull would have either had copper plaiting or some tar like substance for anti fouling purposes. A blueish gray or something in that range would have been more likely used to help make the ship blend into the horizon and water. Some white was used but only for smaller vessels for coastal raids to help blend in with fog.
  12. That might be true if you make hammers. But in relation to movie releases that is not how it works. You want your product on the shelves when the movie comes out. TLG does this all the time with movie lines and Star Wars will definitely not be an exception.
  13. I see this some times at my store and it is usually parts from the monthly build.
  14. TLG wasn't at nycc last year. They instead reveled the life size x-wing. While I'm sure bionicle will be the main feature of nycc, I'd be surprised if they didn't reveal anything else.
  15. Anyone heard about the likelihood of more Star Wars specifically rebel sets being revealed next week at nycc. I was curious if TLG was going to reveal more sets to coincide with the kickoff of the show.
  16. I'm a fan of the tie prototype. It feels sufficiently in the realm of OT style ships. Plus I think the inquisitor is going to be a cool character along the lines of what darth vader was to OT. Whether or not it's a good build remains to be seen as I would like to see some final images before making any such determination.
  17. So,do,I but you cannot place those expectations onto these sets and expect them to make up for the lack of one. And we still might get one or something along those lines.
  18. Rebels is part of that shifting of focus away from PT and is why they cancelled TCW. It'll be a good introduction for the younger crowd who will then be interested in OT and ultimately episodes vii-ix. Thus the shows success is hinged on creating new Star Wars fans who will buy into the overall franchise. Just have to look at it as part of a much larger picture.
  19. Not to mention these sets are targeted at 5-12 year olds who have very different expectations from an adult. Plus the minifigs are clearly not finals and are what will drive sales in the dude demographic.
  20. Rebels is about engaging a demographic that has never seen a Star Wars movie in theaters and not about placating those who have. They are enlarging their base to make new fans who will be around for a long time. Not any different than what TLG does on a regular basis.
  21. I was wondering what time period he was referring to since I don't remember any where the canons were made of plastic. Just wouldn't hold the pressure. Funny how the knight moves, with autumn closing in.
  22. TLG releases sets on January 1st because they want to sell all year, not just during the holidays. Plus Christmas helps to clear out old inventory which they can then fill in with new. Considering that they just became the number one toy maker in the world it seems their strategy works. Hard to argue with success.
  23. If he would have said everyone keep calm, then it would be dr. Who.
  24. http://www.thebrickfan.com/exciting-lego-announcement-this-friday/ Has to be related to tv or movies due to the test card. And I agree it's bigger than a single line since they are making a such a big deal about an announcement.
