  1. The Brick Fan has very reliable sources so I would say this is legit. I think the Simpsons was a test case to see if a single themed cmf line would sell. I suspect we will be seeing more of these type of cmf lines in the future.
  2. He was being facetious. Though it does happen.
  3. From what i understand when a licensed theme expires all sets get broken down and added back into part inventory. Non-licensed sets most likely are kept on sale until supply is depleted. Any returned sets are just added back into inventory and sold. Which is why a sets status can change from being sold out to check for availability. This would be no different when target clearances out its holiday products. Everything in that category would automatically be reduced regardless whether it's in stock or not. Any returned items would automatically receive this price and those returning would, only get back the value,of the discounted price. Generally stores remove sold out items from their sites or at least the price indicating it's no longer available. S@H tends to keep sold out products and their prices on their site for awhile thus you see the automatic discounts being applied. This probably does help in deterring people from returning a product reducing the amount of these set that probably will end up being broken down and added back into supply.
  4. Well the only way to have absolutely no spoilers is not to have any sets released before the movie. Dont think anyone wants that. And I don't think having a name is much of a spoiler. And if it is you will probably have to hide in a cave not to hear and see anything as Disney is going to be carpet bombing the world with advertisement for TFA. Seeing as TLG would need approval for a release date as would Hasbro, etc, there won't be any releases by those companies that Disney is not aware of already.
  5. Maybe merging the two might make the most sense.
  6. An interesting rumor that might surprise http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-collectible-minifigures-series-14-71010-rumors/. A whole series based on monsters. Just in time for halloween. Would go well with a theme, coming out soon.
  7. This would have come from Disney, since sept 5 is release date for all merchandise for TFA. Plus I image the first wave will be mostly ships/vehicles. Any real spoilers would be saved for winter 2016.
  8. The first five sets come out in June and the rest come out sept 5. Though as a few people have pointed out the list is not complete. I suspect we will see a few more sets for the summer wave
  9. Does make me wonder, do people here actually ever read the reviews? I've always ignored them, mainly because you have no idea who,is behind the review. And because if I really want an opinion about a set I would look here.
  10. I'm very excited about this, thanks! Looks like a great addition to my monster fighters sets. I do hope the sets are more the old school versions.
  11. Nice review, I'm kinda on the fence on this one though. I do believe TLG got the bluejay correct as they usually have black around the beak and the blue is usually just on top of the head. It is also very likely the picture in the book was not the only reference photo, if used at all, to design the bluejay. I'm also not sure how someone is,lazy for using one color over another, both require the same amount of,work. Other than that enjoyed the review.
  12. Looks like you could use that to make beer, nice!
  13. What we have here is, failure, to communicate.
  14. The dignitaries would very cool but seems unlikely. But I do agree the set will be like Rubianco stated, the main 3, 2 royal guards, an imperial officer and stormtrooper. Luke, being the 10236 version and the emperor like the book exclusive. It's interesting we already have a hard date for TFA merchandise release. It makes me think that we will see a better flow of information as Disney works to get everyone into a Star Wars frenzy. Looks like they are ramping up and using may 4 to kick off Star Wars for the rest of the decade. I hope people are ready.
  15. Phoning is definitely the best way to go. If you have requested new parts that often it is possible you have been flagged which will only increase your wait time.
  16. 75106 is in that order because it's one of the 5 summer sets. The rest come out sept 5. I wouldn't read too much into the wolf tag. I imagine somewhere along the line someone just filled in the blank spots. @Jedi I agree the last of those sets are most likely rebel sets. And I too as I'm sure many others are disappointed in the lack of OT sets. But the two we are getting are great.
  17. Some interesting news about TFA. http://www.starwarsunderworld.com/2015/01/rumor-action-figure-sets-to-be-released.html By: Benjamin Hart Earlier this week we got a look at a product list from Hasbro for action figures, vehicles and more related to Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. And today our friends at Jedi News claim to have gotten their hands on info and images regarding an action figure release that will be happening much sooner and along with a special release of the six current films. Jedi News reports: "...It seems that there's more product to come from Hasbro... to support the digital releases of the films probably in time for May 4th although that date could be sooner. We have images and details about 6 box sets that will be released (similar in look and style from the 2011 Blu-ray Commemorative Sets) that will be released around the same time, click on the images for a closer look." "The text in the first image states 'LEFT SIDE PANELS CREATE A COMPLETE COLLAGE WHEN LINED UP. WE WILL COMISSION A NEW ILLUSTRATION THAT FEATURES THE CHARACTERS INCLUDED IN THE ASSORTMENT AND FITS THE SPACE PRECISELY '. It looks as though all the figures will be from Saga Legends, which feature five points of articulation and have all been released before. It should be noted that no female figures are represented." They also revealed info(and UK pricing) for five Lego sets slated for release in June and thirteen others coming later this year. Jedi News adds that they have been told that two of the Episode VII sets are the Milennium Falcon and X-Wing: 75091 Classic Flash Speeder £34.99 75092 Naboo Starfighter £54.99 75093 Death Star Final Duel £69.99 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium £79.99 75106 Imperial Assault Carrier £99.99 75099 Episode VII £19.99 75100 Episode VII £39.99 75101 Episode VII £59.99 75102 Episode VII £69.99 75103 Episode VII £79.99 75104 Episode VII £99.99 75105 Episode VII £129.99 75107 £14.99 75108 £14.99 75109 £19.99 75110 £19.99 75111 £24.99 75112 £29.99 They also mention that the "street date" for all of The Force Awakens merchandise including the second wave of Lego sets, is September 4th. It's very exciting to hear about all of the toys releases that are coming with The Force Awakens, but it's even more intriguing to find out that original six films may be released digitally very soon. Does this mean we'll finally be able to watch the Saga on Netflix, iTunes, Google Play, or all of them(& more) prior to the release of Episode VII? We can certainly hope! Of course, given the reliability of the source and included images, this does seem legitimate, but we still have to file this as a rumor until Lucasfilm confirms it. 19. I like the newer one better too. The old alligator looks like he swallowed a brick whole.
  20. That's what I thought, but I realize I was only looking at the set number and not the part number. Thanks for the info about the vacuum forming as I was not aware. Frankly I never paid much attention to the bottom of the baseplate but it makes sense. It only stands to reason after the investment costs are paid the profitability of a product will increase. Plus companies always have products that have greater profit margins. They help to offset those that have much tighter margins. A great example are beverages you get at a fast food restaurant. Last in heard it was around 10 cents for your average medium drink yet they sell them for over a dollar. Yet places like mcdonalds makes very little off of their hamburgers. Thats why they push 'value' meals because they couldn't stay open just by selling burgers and no one is going to come if they are just selling beverages. Thus one has to accept the good with the bad. I guess my point in all of this is that business in general is complicated and pricing a product no matter what it is is a balancing act. Attempting to look from the outside in requires a great deal of information in which case we do not have. TLG like any company looks at each product as part of a greater whole. A products success will be determined by how it fulfills it's role. I imagine if the general public agrees with you the baseplates are way overpriced TLG will adjust accordingly. But that remains to be seen.
  21. Except it's called an analogy, one which I think a user named captain nemo would appreciate.
  22. Well I imagine after almost twenty years of use they had to make a new mold. Cost to make molds have surely risen. Coupled with the fact baseplates do not come in sets to help distribute the costs this individual product has bared the brunt of those costs. Not to mention the cost of materials to make the plastic has risen over time. That is what we know, the cost to actually make a baseplate is only known to TLG.
  23. Seeing as that is a duplo set for two year olds it's not really a great idea to put something like a wing in a set. I'm also confused how TLG is not focusing on girls needs seeing this is basically the third line of toys geared toward them. I imagine they are being cautious because they don't necessarily know the response this line will bring. Rome wasn't built in a day. Personally I am happy the TLG is continuing to expand their range of products and realize change takes time and expecting perfection is not realistic. Plus we are getting two waves so close together so everyone should be happy. Based on that photo it looks like,we could be getting a castle about the same size as Cinderella''s.
  24. I was thinking the same about the cockpit piece, hoping for something bigger.
