The Battle for the Grand Duchy of Prio
SkaForHire replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I am actually not moving Mardier anymore, I have a wargaming non-lego friend who does it. I think that is best, he has no personal attachments to the game and his objective is to win. I might still MOC some L'Olius stuff, but won't be making the decisions of where that team goes and does. -

HMS Gauntlet HMS GAUNTLET by skaforhire, on Flickr After a devastating April trade run, the Royal navy has decided to post another warship to the Far Waters. The HMS Gauntlet will temporarily take the place of the HMS Bullshark until the Crown can forge Carno to relinquish her. DSC_3007 by skaforhire, on Flickr The HMS Guantlet was taken from the Oleon Navy during the Juniper War, and had mostly served as a consul ship on the northern coast of Corrington since. She is fast, agile, and well-armed. She is currently fitted out as a 5HA class warship, but if she drops some of her iron, she can make the speed of a class 5A. DSC_3001 by skaforhire, on Flickr Hmm, I met to crop those, sorry!

HMS Mardier’s Misft Mardiersmisfit by skaforhire, on Flickr In April, the Corrington Royal Navy took many vessels while running routine convoys, one of these vessels was the Mardier’s Misfit. Corrington also took many casualties in the same month, and now some of the captures are being refit in Corrington colors for duty in the Far Waters. DSC_2977 by skaforhire, on Flickr The now HMS Mardier’s Misfit is an odd vessel. Rumor has it that when she was part of the Mardier Fleet years ago she was captured by pirates. The pirate that had taken her thought it would be better to have two ships, so he sawed her in half and built up the middle ends. This gave her an odd look, When once a 32 gun ship, she was now reduced to 15 guns, and assumingly her sister ship was constructed the same. This brought her down from a 5HA to a 4A class. Still, even with her odd sailing characteristics and her short gun deck, she is a terror for those who would pray on the Corrington Fleet. DSC_2969 by skaforhire, on Flickr Today commanded by Captain Trevors, she is ready for duty in the May MRCA. DSC_2974 by skaforhire, on Flickr

Well, that is freaking fantastic looking. Nice thing is, when the new ranks come out, this will be well above a 5HA.... so some good punch for the Oleon Navy! Beautiful as always! -

That and technically we do not know who found the island that Longjaw is on. THe ability to claim islands through the challenge is basically using influence to do so.- 897 replies

The Battle for the Grand Duchy of Prio

You lose the position when you retreat. Yes, the attacker would technically dwindle down if it attacked a position that was higher than it (or surprise higher AKA defender supported by an ally.) Your men are removed from the board, and I think technically you could remove a ship after its 20 men were killed/captured. Then, yes, you could be invited back. -

A slight change to battle mechanics to make this more than just pushing pieces back: Attack: to attack, you declare an attack on a hex that is owned by anybody other than you, as long as you have an army adjacent to that space. An attack is resolved by comparing the two ranks. A tie goes to the defender. The winner holds the hex, the loses retreats and is reduced in rank, or is destroyed. If there is no open space for the loser to retreat to, the army is captured and taken off the board. A unit is reduced one rank when it loses a battle unless the attacke is twice as strong as the defense, in this case, the defending army is reduced to half of its total rank, rounded up. An army may only attack or move once per turn, not both. IE: A rank 6 attacks a rank 5, the rank 5 retreats and is reduced to a rank 4. OR a rank 8 army attacks a rank 4 army, the rank 4 army retreats and is reduced to a rank 2 army. -

You could raise troops through the EGS and send them there with a recruitment action. -

I think the hard rule will be that you have to land in a friendly or neutral zone. -

Yes, and both have the ability to contract NPC privateers if nobody takes up their offer. There may be a slight rule change that allows for the destruction of troops. That will be released before the first turn starts though. -

Haha, I used a different copy of the rules when I posted, and now I realize why you guys kept having problem with the numbers -- yes it is 10 * class level + 5 for every level of crew. Recruits start from any shoreline location. -
The Battle for the Grand Duchy of Prio
SkaForHire replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yes, those troop counts are correct. A unit can only make one move per turn. So if you have two stacks of 6, and 12 turns, each stack can only move 1 or attack 1 space. So, there is no forced march going on here. Yes, no rolling. Supporting is the key here. if two 4s support against a 6, then they would defend successfully. I am re-clarifying supporting rules here to make defense stronger. If you support a defense, it is your full army amount. If you support an offense, it is only half your army's amount. Those organizing as a team, can submit their orders as a team. -
It depends when they become automated, it might be a manual chore to delete troops. I will let one of the automaters answer that.
