To be fair, he had to wait for the sets like the rest of us who didn't get review copies. On the bright side, this'll be the first good video review Gen 2 gets!

You use feminine pronouns in the MOC description.

Heck, I'll take that, that's more than what we got from G1.

Eeeeh, that really comes across as a bizarre idea, especially since you don't have a problem with Protectors and Masters being so disparately sized. We've already established in universe, from the outset that intelligent robot beings with elemental powers can be of vastly different sizes and proportions, so a dude or two who outsize the Toa a good bit aren't that out of place. Especially for big bad villain characters where fitting through the bathroom doors is sort of a writing non-issue. And it's a common, well-used design trope, and for good reason! I mean, following that logic, the Masters/Toa don't fit in on Okoto/Mata-Nui, often being twice or three times the size of the denizens of said island. Onua looks like you could fit two protectors in his chest alone. I guess, you do you, but I just don't get it.

, Alternatively, if not completely parallel, Vangelus's approach to reviews isn't quite as video-edit-intensive and formal, but still cuts a more brief and entertaining video. His give you an idea of what you should edit down and script and what you can do "impromptu". It really shows what some elbow grease and showmanship can do for a review.

Honestly, he's a shining example on how to do video reviews right, brief, informative, entertaining in that calm fashion of his. If you want an idea on what to aim for, he's the first guy to look at. Especially with having a text review to compliment it, you highlight the strengths of both approaches.

Battle For The Golden Mask Competition: Discussion Thread
CabooseBM replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Yeah, exactly! It kinda makes it transparent what the goals are here, and it's not "having fun building stuff". I'm not convinced this whole multiple entries across multiple sites including reposted mocs isn't going to end with pushing out a lot of otherwise perfectly valid and competitive entries. -
Battle For The Golden Mask Competition: Discussion Thread

It's really kind of actively bumming me out that you can enter old MoCs in the contest. Like, woo, a bunch of people get free shots at the mask, no effort required, bravo. =/ -
I think it's part trying to keep the story to fewer outlets, and part the ever-dwindling popularity of Comics as a medium.

New bones and shells and also the color pallette of Friends, that is what I wish for every night when I pray before my LEGO Altar. I could really get into some muscly/sinew-y textured shells, and super bone-y bones. Like, that'd be really cool and are versatile enough for a multitude of purposes.

Sounds like fun. Going to have to bring my A-Game for this!! -
You have given me too much power, now I can Godwin any CCBS debate!

I dunno man, The Lord of Skull Spiders seems like a fair equivalent to the similarly priced Nui-Rama.

Maybe not? I recall you making that cross-bones style bone in response to such a conversation, but I could be making stuff up. There was a nice render of that bone, the double cup and the double ball bones attached into a nice, simple torso design that "followed the rules" according to Front. But again, I could be making stuff up. =P

The more I look at it the more it bugs me, yet, I am hesitant to ruin the color cohesion I have managed, and while I want to make his legs longer, I don't want him to get taller. I'm going to have to think about this for a while. Damn you, Warhead! =) Thank you very much! Thank you! I'm pretty happy with the hand design myself! Thanks! Eeeeh, I dunno, I don't think that'd help the "too bulky" problem and his lower legs don't have much in the way of lime green options.
-
Completely agreed, I don't NEED it, but man it would be nice. One of those Pie-in-the-sky kind of deals. Geez Aanchiir, you're going to give me the vapors. =P Yeah, I can't imagine how current torso shells lend themselves well to waist articulation. I'd abandon that track entirely to be honest.

This topic is just FULL of great bone pieces I'd love to get my hands on. What I can't find is the topic where the OP and Front discuss building a torso, which led to a few of these parts here. Still sifting through topics for it!

I definitely want a "hand" piece that's like a socket with a two bars attached, with enough room for three fingers and a thumb. New finger pieces are optional, since we have a decent amount of options as-is. I don't understand this, what advantage could this possibly offer? I mean, I'd like a male-male bone, but not for leg pieces.

Click the Above Link for the full gallery! Lewa is the daredevil Toa of Air, tossing caution to the wind at any chance he gets. His attitude allows him to perform breathtaking stunts and acrobatics that the other Toa Mata can only hope to match. Of course, Lewa’s competitive streak will push him to goad the others into contests, even if they know he’ll blow them away anyways. There’s something about his frantic actions and longwinded gabbering that keep him on everyone’s good side, even if they don’t show it. Lewa is agile and quick, well adapted to life among the trees inLe-Wahi, moving like a breeze in and through the canopy. He can control the very air itself, using it to further enhance his agility and grace. With his Toa Tool, a lightweight yet sturdy axe, he can direct the wind in more outwardly practical manners. (This moc here represents Lewa as he appears in the Bionicle: Rebuild universe.)

Uh hold on I thought I was replying to a different picture nevermind lemme rejigger this post... whycan'tIdeleteposts... Anyways, I really like these flaws, they're a little silly in comparison to the original, though not by much, G1 Lewa's fear of water comes to mind, but it immediately sets them up with flaws to grow past and character development opportunities, and some of it is just sets up fun character interaction. Like, seriously, an episode where Pohatu and Lewa explore a dark jungle together, and Pohatu has to fool Lewa into believing he's afraid of nothing, not even the dark, while keeping Lewa from jumping headfirst into some dark pit or another.
