  1. I just hope they don't just stretch out the planned 3-year story if Bionicle's a booming success. Finish that story while planting the seeds for a new one rather than bloating the old story.
  2. Pfft, come on! You'd have to be blind to not see Pohatu/Kopaka! It's basically canon! =V
  3. Aw what? Onua's not a lady? Well, pack it up guys, I couldn't work my mojo hard enough, decommission the hype train, the dream is dead. =P Joking aside, this is all really exciting, isn't it? It seems LEGO is doing all the right things to get me interested. I love the Legend video, and the animation style is lovely. The stills we've seen are all super charming! I think this a really perfect marriage of style and set accuracy, and I think the CCBS is partially to thank for that. I hope Pohatu has trans-yellow, and the packaging seems to agree with that, but at the same time trans lime green(Or whatever.) has more useful parts associated with it, and we haven't gotten bones in that color either.
  4. I don't really remember much about them that I really liked that didn't comprise of "this character concept was cool". And the majority of that was, "Tren Krom is really neat for a forced cthulu reference." I really did like Sahmad's Tale, though.
  5. I have to give it to Kraahu and Kranua, Ultimate Dume comes in a close second since he doesn't really hold up with age like the Vakhi combos do. I also have a special place in my heart for the various Bohrok combiners. The Bohrok, for some reason, lend themselves REALLY WELL to alternate builds and combo models. Edit: Special mention for those cool Japanese Rahkshi combiners, which are all wicked cool.
  6. In that case, it's an old really crappy plot device. Unrelatedly, the story serials are still mostly crap. =P
  7. Yeah, it's a really crappy plot device. Just the order of the day in the Post-Story-Serial Bionicle world, to be honest.
  8. The Matoran were biomechanical, but functionally they're robots. I see Matoran as Hobbits, more or less. (If I were to have my way, though, Matoran would be able to build more Matoran using raw or recycled materials, and had a finite lifespan, while Toa and Turaga live indefinitely.)
  9. Holy cow Aanchir that snark is so thick I could cut it with a knife, spread it on toast, and consume it as nourishment. You should do that more often! =P
  10. Lord of the Skull Spiders being mostly technic is fine by me, I like how he looks and the character I've already decided for him, and if he's technic oriented I won't be tempted to steal his pieces for something else.
  11. I'm a little unimpressed by the apparent lack of new functionality pieces, but I am also keenly aware we hadn't known about the most of the new pieces in Breakout until after Stormer XL was released.
  12. Actually first off I want to take a moment and say thank you for finding the images in the first place, just2good.
  13. Could we maybe get those pictures in uh, picture form? A youtube video does nothing for me.
  14. I dunno, if the Inika/Mahri return I hope they get better, more character specific weapons.
  15. I hope those new masks can be attached to other things but if they don't, well, oh well, I was never all that into using masks as armor and whatnot. You called??
  16. That mask is probably 13 years old, so you'll have to forgive its condition. Some things don't leave childhood unscathed. =)
  17. Hey guys, I ended up redoing Onua's back armor, which helps fill out her shoulders a bit, thought I'd share:
  18. I probably wouldn't have liked what would have been Pohatu's design nearly as much.
  19. Honestly I'm pretty hyped about the gear functions and I never liked those back in the day. Well, okay, except for the Bohrok. But the Bohrok are responsible for many exceptions.
  20. Haha, I was wondering when someone was going to yell at me about that. It's okay, I'm not going to stop anytime soon. Maybe my secret brain signals will get through to LEGO at some point. =V
  21. Yeah, that's a fair point, I was positing how that could be a good thing and work well for the character. Like Gali and her really mean mask design. I mean, I would love just as much, if not more, if Onua is described as "Wise as she is strong." =)
  22. I wouldn't mind if Onua was like Duncan Bulk, If she got to keep the character development Dunkan started to get in Savage Planet, where he was the Big and Dumb guy but was actively and effectively working to better himself and learn more. It would have been a fun dynamic if it kept going. Of course there's always the threat of her starting to get that development and then it getting dropped, like what happened to Bulk. And I don't know if that's worth the risk.
  23. Onua is big and strong and she is my friend. But seriously I love Onua's design. Maybe not so much the gold, but everything else works really well.
  24. Pohatu’s new mask is nice and round. Which is going to work great when I make the rest of him nice and round.
  25. Check out Onua's sledge weapon, that is some downright inspired parts usage right there.
