It's probably being noticed now because the Series 5 Mixels are hitting saturation, so they're available to parents, who would go on the website with their kids. Seems pretty timely to me? Its possible the person who wrote it had heard the phrase but didn't know the context. According to the article, disability charities in the UK seem to have done work to take that phrase out of common usage, so younger folks don't have the context for it since it's gone. (There's a similar case with Downs Syndrome activism here in the States)

Cripes, that's unfortunate, hopefully LEGO fixes that nonsense.

Hm, I suppose. I guess any bone long enough wouldn't really look right either...

If I may make a suggestion, rather than use a t-shaped piece with balls at all ends, perhaps a bar piece with three balls on it attached to one of the already existing bones. It'd lend itself to customization a bit better, I think.

Agreed, and that kind of joint offers a modest swivel too, while not being as prone to becoming misaligned as the lower-to-lower limb connections are.

I'd like a whole bunch of sentient nonhumanoids. On both sides. Bugs, dinosaurs, bugasaurs, I'll take the lot. Or just a whole wave of "Bohrok" who take cues from the different swarm villains of G1/Hero Factory. But not as swarm characters. EDIT: And yes, more girls please.

Old Bionicle parts you'd want to see brought back for Gen 2?

On one hand, I agree, on the other, I am so ridiculously desperate for new feet I'll take just about anything. -
What? No. You stop it. That's a perfectly valid way to label versions of characters from different universes. I may have remembered that one Tanma died but the original Tanma is still alive, but someone less involved may not. Tagging what Tanma is what makes that easy, and it's perfectly sensible to use terminology from other franchises to describe it, like G1/G2 from Transformers/MLP. I don't know what ridiculous hang ups you have about fandom stuff but yelling at people on Eurobricks is not the answer.

I wouldn't mind seeing the animation art used for the graphic novel, but I'd love to see the artist behind the Invasion from Below and a bunch of the Bionicle Promo art illustrate it, too. Both look really, stunningly nice, though one lends itself more to beautiful panoramas and the other has already proven itself as far as expression and visual storytelling goes, so it could go either way, really. It's the writing I'm worried about, to be honest. The animations are good for what they are, but LEGO hasn't exactly had a great track record.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's probably just some vague form of disapproval via meme.

Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion
CabooseBM replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Grievous is an extremely impressive set, there's definitely room for improvement, the shaping could use some work, and it's not in the same league as Darth Vader or Obi-Wan, but man, what a cool set. Obi-Wan is cut of the same cloth as Darth Vader. Solid, smooth, with great shaping, the only blemishes being the black bones in the arms and the torso not flowing into the neck well. These are an absolute goldmine for new part colors, while we're at it. Hot diggity! Damn, these are nice. -
No problem! I gotta say these aren't too bad for a first try, keep working at it, and be sure to look at other MoCists for techniques and strategies they use! But, uh, perhaps be more careful about modeling your mocs around someone else's moc. While I perhaps should refrain from self promoting, I try to put up cool build ideas on tumblr Factory, and the Piece Out Flickr group is a good pool of inspiration. Take this as you will, I'm just putting it out there, hoping it'll be useful. =) Perhaps a Millipede or Centipede sort of deal?
-
These are pretty cool though, I really like what you're going for with these. I do think, however, that you need to put more time into the "shaping" of the models, as the myriad pieces sort of jumble up the outline and make the MoC hard to decipher. You do a pretty good job with the Nui-Jaga and the Manas, but the Muaka, Tarakava, and Nui-Rama are kind of a mess of parts. Definitely try looking to the real world for inspiration for those, like big cats or various wasps. Gotta tip my hat to the Muaka's head though, that turned out great. Also, more treads. It isn't 2001 Rahi without gratuitous treads.

What was the worst construction set?

2008 Matoran/Agori/Stars With the exception of some nice mask/helmets/weapons, these guys were pure garbage and exemplified all the worst problems of G1's building system. -
Onua is by far my favorite set out of the bunch, really solid, fun build, cool weapon, he is buff and cool and my friend.

Man, when I think of Minecraft Jungles, I immediately think of horrible Jungle Spiders, but I guess I don't play vanilla and no one's going to understand what I'm talking about.

I don't believe any modern CCBS sets do, and that particular sand blue might be discontinued at that. If there's one thing I'd wish for, it'd be CCBS shells in every color of the current LEGO Pallete. Or at least all the pinks and purples.
