  1. Great work, Lewi. On the topic of BL - any good stores to recommend that ship internationally? Like I said, I'm planning to start BLing stuff soon. But since I live in Singapore, shipping is going to be troublesome and expensive.
  2. Now you've got that horrifying image stuck in my head...! When is the reveal, anyway? Tomorrow? NYCC is a few days long, if I recall correctly.
  3. While the posing looks a little awkward, I love its design! The colour scheme is nicely thought out, given the constraints you had with this being a combiner.
  4. Apologies for not being specific - I was referring to the large titan-sized sets like shadow Takanuva, Toa Mata Nui and Witch Doctor. We've not seen figures of their size during BA and IFB. If the rumour that the summer wave of Bionicle 2015 will only include 5 sets, it's certainly plausible that we might see the return of such large figures amongst them.
  5. One problem with such sets is that Lego might feel forced to include them into the story, jumbling it up somehow. I'd rather Lego follow the pace they've set, and introduce new reincarnations of old characters where they see fit.
  6. The past two years of HF didn't have extra large (mind the pun) sets either, and probably for good reason. Lego might have realized that they didn't sell as well as the smaller or medium sized sets, when it came to CCBS at least.
  7. I'm planning to start using Bricklink soon to update my CCBS collection; this is a great idea.
  8. Oh, so that's it! I knew Akamai sounded familiar, must've slipped my mind somehow... I'm really tempted to do a Jaller Mahri MOC using the Fire Defender's mask.
  9. Well, Akamai does have a Bionicle-ish ring to it. Speaking of which, I wonder if Lego will be keeping the term 'Kanohi' or naming individual masks, given how they seem to be distancing themselves from the term 'Toa' to avoid potential confusion amongst new fans.
  10. It's a new theme. It's a given that they'll go all out! That description there is probably meant for retailers, though, since they're the ones viewing the catalogue.
  11. Ussanui done entirely in CCBS, glorious! This is what I've been talking about when I say vehicles (and Rahi!) being done in CCBS. We could have the entire internal structure of the vehicle built entirely of CCBS bones. Given Bionicle vehicle's odd shapes and multiple moving/shifting parts (bar the 2008 vehicles, as awesome as they were), this would be the perfect way of exploiting the CCBS's potential.
  12. Yup. A remake is not a reboot. Two completely different things. I do hope we see Takanuva and the Inika, they're amongst my favourite characters. Maybe we'll see a pattern similar to the original Bionicle - one wave consisting mainly of good guys, followed by another of bad guys. Maybe we'll see a wave of 6 bad guys next, with a few heroes like Takanuva featured?
  13. Has anyone noticed that Lewa's element is now confirmed to be jungle in the finalised images? That's pretty solid confirmation for me that this is a reboot.
  14. I see. That would explain it's huge price tag. Disappointing, though, since the prices of retail exclusives often end up being more inflated than the average retail sets when they're sold in other countries.
  15. I noticed something about friction joints: The bigger sets (Tahu, Kopaka) have them for good reason, but somehow, when it comes to the smaller sets - Lewa has them but Gali doesn't. I'm not sure about Pohatu because his hips are obscured by his boomerang. Inconsistent much?
  16. I'm very thankful just for the images that we already have, much less the ones J2G hasn't released. Some people are never satisfied... On the subject of Anakin's Custom JSF, it can't be a retail exclusive since it appeared in a retailer's catalogue, right?
  17. It's circular because of the piece they used, I think. If you look closely, the technic piece is connected directly to a hand. It can spin, of course, but if that was their intended purpose, Lego would've used the frictionless tan pin instead.
  18. I have to agree that the CCBS is getting a little monotonous. I think I've mentioned this before, but this is a bit of Lego's own undoing - they keep sticking with humanoid builds, when the CCBS has the potential for so much more. Animals, weird creatures, even vehicles done entirely in CCBS! Admittedly, I do prefer humanoid characters, but the CCBS was designed for so much more than them. Regardless, it's definitely not as bad as the repeated Inika build we got for 4 years straight. Also, to add on to what Kumquat said, it provides a platform for parts to be used more differently. We're seeing CCBS parts being used more frequently in System themes, particularly Chima and Ninjago. I'm definitely pumped for these sets! My anticipation has never been higher for a CCBS line ever since HF's Breakout. Here's hoping we get reviews of them by the end of the year!
  19. Pohatu's boomerangs are articulated? Makes me love him even more! If only he had more tan in place of the silver, but I can live with it. I love how his arms are asymmetrical as well. I still can't figure out the Guurahk spear on his back, though. An extra dagger? With those boomerangs, who needs a dagger?
  20. Had a better look of the sets (squinting at the YouTube video wasn't so bad! Hopefully we get them as image files soon) - I think they all look fantastic. Really looking forward to getting them. My favourite Kanohi has got to be Pohatu's Kakama. Set-wise, it's definitely Lewa! I realized that Lewa still has his mouth holes, reminiscent of the original Miru. I love it!
  21. These are incredible. Thanks, just2good! Does anyone have a link to a photo gallery? YouTube makes it hard to get a closer look.
  22. Do keep in mind that we haven't officially seen any environment or characters. Concept art for those are usually released after we've seen them!
  23. Agreed. For people like me who like to keep their set packaging, the HF bags were a godsend. I keep them neatly stored in a folder, and if the day comes when I need them to store parts, I can just take them out of storage. It's neat and saves space. Yes, I loved the Bionicle canisters for their novelty and unique feel, but they just take up so much space. Plus, because they're so nice to look at, it makes it that much harder to throw them away. I'll definitely miss the HF bags. The new Bionicle sets seem to use the Speedorz-ish boxes, we'll see how those fare.
  24. Same here. I've never owned a full team, Bionicle or HF. I'm definitely getting all the Toa, and I'll probably end up skipping LOSS. I'd like to get all the Protectors but unfortunately I won't have the cash for it, given all the outstanding sets Lego is releasing next year. I'll most likely be getting just 1 or 2 Protectors that catch my eye, like the Jungle and Earth ones.
  25. Thanks for the links guys. Looks like I wasn't looking hard enough! Speaking of the Flash, I do hope we get his yellow boots this time around, given the recent advent of the injection molding technology with the Simpsons minifigs.
