  1. Don't get your hopes up - it's not like Lego's never tagged something previously discovered by fans as 'new content'! I'm more excited for the NYCC reveal. HQ finalised pictures would be nice, but I do hope they put up a set or two for display.
  2. Does anyone have a working link where I can view the prelims in HQ? The one I've been using has been taken down. Should've saved them when I had the chance.
  3. I'm hoping to see vehicles that utilize actual CCBS parts like joints and the inner frame, rather than purely Technic based vehicles.
  4. This. I loved (still love) the Inika/Mahri. Maybe we could see them introduced as Matoran/Defenders first before seeing them transformed into Toa? My favourite thing about the Inika was seeing beloved old characters turning into heroes of a different kind. Jaller, Hahli, Nuparu... I loved it. As for the Metru, while I loved Legends of Metru Nui, I'm with you in that I don't feel as close an attachment to them than I do with the Mata/Nuva and the Inika/Mahri. But yes, more Toa teams, please! I'd love to see other teams like the Mangai or the Hagah as well. It's a little premature, but I can see the Mata getting stale after a few years. Maybe they'll go Nuva next year... Then what? Lego could also do something like Bionicle's original run, and have the Nuva go on hiatus and explore other teams to keep things fresh, then bring them back again a few years later.
  5. Great find! This means there's a high chance we'll see the sets before the year ends!
  6. Masks that attach from the sides? I'm actually fine with that! At least it kills the whole masks-aren't-supposed-to-attach-by-the-front debate. Anyway, the Mask of Creation looks really ornate! Looking forward to seeing it in a set, hopefully soon! From what I've gathered reading the Brickset comments, the general disdain for Bionicle over there (right now, at least) is due to the fact that many of the fans over there were hoping for a reveal for another theme like Doctor Who (via Ideas) or Fantastic Four. When they found out it wasn't what they hoped for, much less a theme they couldn't care less about, they started to get a little harsh. I don't think AFOLs dislike Bionicle - they just can't be bothered by it, and would rather see the effort and attention being spent on it be diverted to a System theme they care more about.
  7. LewiMOC, that looks amazing! By the way, are you using the wider or the narrower torso skeleton piece? I'm not a big fan of how those ball joints jut out at the shoulders, more so than they do (seemingly, could be the angle) on the prelims.
  8. I really, really like this! I hope we see a more compact version of this on the sets. I love how the arms swing independently.
  9. I'm fine with the gear functions, actually - so long as they retain their shoulder articulation, like the original Mata/Nuva sets. I absolutely hated how the Metru's gear function meant that their shoulder articulation was extremely limited.
  10. There's the Technic bunch as well. I wouldn't divide the Lego fanbase into such distinct groups - we each have our own different interests. Not really. It might be possible for sets like Pohatu, but for the larger sets like Tahu - the exposed ball joint is actually somewhere in the middle of the torso, not at the shoulders. And even for sets like Pohatu where the exposed ball joint is on the same level as the shoulders, the torso piece being used seems to be the narrower torso piece, so you'd have to swap it out for a wider one in order to utilize the shoulder ball joint.
  11. Well, there's always been a disdain for constraction sets in general amongst the larger AFOL community. As a EB member for several years I can testify to this; back when we used to get leaks via photos of the retail catalogue, HF was usually the last to get them, if at all. Why? Simply because most of the leakers didn't care for them, or thought that people didn't care for them. Well, our community has seemingly exploded in size with Bionicle's return, and I'm glad to see that! I don't think we should worry too much about how other AFOLs view Bionicle - to each his own, and I'm quite happy with our little community here.
  12. Why not? It's a new take on 2001, and we did get several Technic-heavy vehicles in HF. I would like to see more vehicles with constraction elements in them - given that Bionicle's not so limited to 'realistic' vehicles like HF is, I hope that we get more unique vehicles.
  13. I know, I cringe every time I see it written wrongly... Also, this may be a little premature, but seeing the heavier use of Technic (due to the return of functions) got me thinking - what are the chances of us getting vehicles in future waves? Ussanui and the Mask of Light saga for 2016, anyone?
  14. Considering the fact that the only HF set I got this year is FJM (a HUGE step down from previous years, heh) I think I'll manage getting all of the Toa at least, and maybe a couple of Protectors.
  15. That's what I was thinking! It would certainly be a waste if it wasn't the case, those blades look very ornate and would fit very nicely with Tahu. The BA blades are cool (and I don't own them in gold yet) but I'm quite tired of seeing them.
  16. I really hope you're right, but those price lists haven't been wrong before...
  17. Perhaps they utilise the two-pin system the current HF add-ons use? It doesn't stick out as far as the normal pins do in the masks/helmets we currently have.
  18. I was thinking of that! Unfortunately, I don't have Pyrox, I might have to BL a dark red chest piece. I do have Worriz and Fluminox, though. Also, Tahu's new armour add-ons will do nicely to serve as shoulder pads for Lhikan, and I can use his chest armour as well. I just hope he doesn't turn out looking like a Tahu clone.
  19. That would make sense. Pohatu does seem a little underwhelming compared to his $15 price point counterparts, though. I do hope he comes with tan shells. Also: I just realized that Tahu and Kopaka's lavaboard/shield pieces are extremely reminiscent of Lhikan's Fire Greatswords! Those were hands down my favourite weapons in Bionicle's original run. Plus the fact that we're getting a gold Hau with Tahu... I'm tempted to get a second Tahu to MOC a CCBS Lhikan!
  20. I noticed that as well! I guess they had to put Ventress somewhere in the image, but it's nice to see. I really want the JSF, so I'll probably wait for a sale to get it. The TIE, while nice, might have to be a pass for me. Lego is really upping its game across all themes next year!
  21. This is not the place to discuss the state of TTV, guys... Anyway, I just noticed another thing: The Protector of Stone has one more piece than Pohatu! I'm hoping/assuming this is because these are just preliminary images. Gali and Lewa, both at Pohatu's price point, have 80+ pieces, while Pohatu is shown to only have 65.
  22. I just noticed that on Onua, good eye! I actually prefer that, to be honest. I hated the way the Toa Metru's arms swung in opposite directions. If we are to get gear functions back, I'd rather the arms swing independently. I love that about the Protector of Earth, actually. He's easily my favourite Protector. I really like how Lego made the effort to distinguish the way all the Protectors wield their shooters.
  23. Anakin's Custom JSF looks great! The fact that it comes with Asajj Ventress is a nice bonus. But how in the world is that a $50 set?! The TIE Advanced Prototype looks good as well, but again, $50?! Nice to see the Inquisitor confirmed as being included in it, though that was pretty much a given.
  24. I just had a second, closer look - as mentioned already in this thread, the smaller Toa have some sort of gear function in their arms (which should hopefully be easy to remove, given that it's the CCBS) while the larger Toa have something on their backs which suggest some other form of function.
  25. Colour me impressed. Other than Lewa and Gali's Kanohi, all of them are a nice homage to the originals! Kanohi-wise, my favourite is definitely Pohatu's. I'm definitely getting all the Toa, and maybe a few Protectors here and there. LOSS doesn't look so impressive, though. Might give that one a pass.
