With Andy Serkis being rumoured to play Klaw in AoU as well, that's a possibility!

Favorite Bionicle Music! (Or least favorite)
Aethersprite replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Creeping In My Soul and Gravity Hurts, for sure! They captured the feel of their respective year's themes excellently. I do hope Lego enlists Cryoshell's help for the reboot. -
I've been a fan of Onua since we saw the prelims; the preview only solidifies him as one of my favourites of the wave! His weapon storage is indeed very pleasing. I've always been a huge fan of the Metru's weapons storing on their backs.

Yeah, having the weapon storage wasn't surprising, but I'm pleased to see it being done so well. As for the colours, the gold and silver don't look as bad as I thought they would. They fit in with his colour scheme quite well!

Onua looks really bland without his chest stickers. I'll definitely be putting those on. I'm really liking how he looks! He ties with Kopaka as my favourite Toa of the wave.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Aethersprite replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hmm, so Anakin's Custom JSF Is confirmed to be 50 bucks, huh. That's really steep, I'm disappointed. -
Shakar, you forgot to mention dark green! That and Metru red are amongst my favourite CCBS colours, I was so happy to see them being used a bit more often. It's disappointing that they've been left out completely; hopefully we'll see them again in subsequent waves of Bionicle. That's a lot of them! Thanks for the link. But like I said, I hope Lego doesn't go the way of Breakout Bulk and Voltix and give Gali black feet instead of gunmetal.

Really? Maybe it's just that I don't own it in gunmetal. But my impression is that it doesn't exist yet in gunmetal - if my memory serves me right, a lot of sets that should've used it in gunmetal like Breakout Bulk and Voltix used it in black instead, so I've always assumed Lego didn't want to produce it in gunmetal.

I love Pohatu's brown. It's a nice compromise between the dark brown we got with Ogrum/Mungus and the yellow/orange of the later Stone Toa sets. Speaking of colours, are Gali's feet gunmetal or black? Can someone who was at NYCC confirm this? They look gunmetal, but I don't think we've gotten HF feet in that colour before. It's probably due to the fact that one of his arms is more armoured than the other, and the lone dagger he carries on his back when he's riding his Jetarangs.

I'll get all the Toa sets for sure. I don't care for LOSS either. As for the Protectors, the Jungle and Earth ones look interesting so I'll probably just get those. And maybe the Fire one so I can do a Jaller CCBS MOC.

I don't think we should be discussing the contest here; there's a separate discussion thread for that. Anyway, given that the mold for the Mask of Creation already exists, perhaps there's a high chance we'll see Ekimu (or another bearer of the mask) as a set in the summer?

I just watched TTV's review of Kopaka, and I think it really solidifies him as my favourite Toa of the bunch! I'm loving the whole paladin look he has going for him. The lower legs are a little awkward, but nothing I can't live with. Really looking forward to having him in hand. That depends on what look you're going for for your MOC. Personally, I prefer regular humanoid legs; but if you're going for a more bestial look, then by all means use the chicken legs.

I entered this thread expecting some serious discussion, was disappointed that it was going to be a spoof, but I decided oh what the heck, let's see what this is about... Let me just say that I'm not usually a fan of these spoofs, but this was mind-bendingly hilarious. I died at "he'll settle down when they remake Jaller", this is insane!

Battle For The Golden Mask Competition: Discussion Thread
Aethersprite replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Just got into MOCing recently. While I don't have a lot of parts, I'm definitely going to enter! This will be my first competition! :) -
Thanks, Aanchir! It looks decent, though not as good as I'd like it to be. Still, it'll help set Pohatu apart from the rest. I guess I'll only know how well it fits when I have it in hand.

I have a question/request for DV/Aanchir/anyone who got a hold of new parts from NYCC. How well does the new armour piece attach to a HF foot? I'm planning on doing that when I get Pohatu; I'm curious as to how that might look. A picture would be nice, but I understand if that's too much of a hassle. Much appreciated!

Agreed. You have a 100% valid opinion? I don't doubt that. But an argument? Far from it. I don't see why having a fear of heights or the dark aren't 'real' problems. For all we know, they could have some unexplained backstory which led them to have these fears, though that probably won't happen. If anything, Lego is encouraging kids by saying, hey, even mighty heroes have these fears too. It's okay to be scared sometimes. Being able to better relate to a character lets kids look up to them more easily.

Well, the Toa aren't invincible, these traits are supposed to make them more relatable. While they aren't very becoming of heroes, I can live with them. We should've expected this when we realized Lego wanted to make Bionicle 2.0 more accessible to kids.

Fair point. Kopaka's gold is growing on me slowly. In fact, I never hated the gold, I just vastly prefer silver. It's probably due to the fact that I'm so used to seeing silver/grey/gunmetal on him on his previous Nuva forms. On the subject of Takanuva, I guess you're right! Gold seems to be Lego's favourite colour. Plus, given the larger colour palette we have now, they might choose to change up his colour scheme, pairing gold with Keetorange or trans yellow etc to differentiate him from Kopaka. As for Lewa, he still retains some of his air elemental powers according to his official description. He's also definitely still the Toa of Air for me. I'm quite neutral on the whole subject of shipping, but that's a good point you've raised! I really like the affectionate way the Toa address each other as brother and sister. I hope they keep this in the official animations and books.

I don't mind the gold on Onua, it blends in quite well with his yellow eyes and the yellow lever on his back. Kopaka's is a lot more jarring, particularly because it's both Takanuva's colour scheme and the fact that gold stands out so much more next to white and trans-blue. I really wish all that gold was silver, but oh well. Can't win them all, I guess. EDIT: On the subject of the yellow knob on the back, just be glad it's not red. Red is SO much more jarring than yellow, which seems to blend in really nicely with all the sets. I still hate that red button on Dragon Bolt's back.

Thanks for the info, DV! Will BZP be putting up a full report of the panel? I'm interested to know what went down. Also, did you have the opportunity to mess with the parts? While I'm loving the new mask connection, I'm afraid it's going to be loose. Does it come off easily? Anyway, on the new story: While all the new names are going to take a while to get used to, this is a nice direction that Bionicle is taking! I have a ton of questions, but I'm sure they'll be answered in time. In particular, though: Are Ekium and Makuta supposed to be Protectors, or are they an entire different species entirely? Additionally, it's nice to see that they're keeping the 'Toa' term! Although it seems that a lot other terms are being dropped, like calling masks Kanohi and giving the masks individual names.

Blimey, you're right! I absolutely adore the new Pakari, I can't stop looking at it! Same here. He does have the Mask of Strength, after all.

Onua looks absolutely amazing. I love that Pakari! You can also see the new head piece poking out from the back of his head. I think he might be my favourite of the lot. I dare say he makes the best use of the Hulk chest piece so far for an official set. My only gripe is that his chest design probably uses stickers... Speaking of new headpieces, what methods do you guys currently use to attach Kanohi (that use pins) to HF torsos?
