  1. The PU XL motor is weaker than the PF one, torque seems similar to PF L motor. TLG had nothing to do with this review and there was no embargo. Hubs come preassmbled and lubricated.
  2. 2 PU XL motors 1 PU L motor 1 PU technic hub 4 planetary hubs 8 male CV joints 4 female CV joints 5 3x3 connectors 3 cable holders
  3. It seems to me that the wheels have a deeper mounting point thatn the regular ones. This means they could be used with the tractor tyres and new hubs to get steering point even closer to the center. But I dont get it why they couldn't use the same wheels on the Porsche though.
  4. We are also getting a fifth wheel, look behind the rear seats!
  5. I doubt it has 42099 hubs. From the shape of wheels I would expect Chiron's female type hubs. But they do seem to have crossholes!
  6. No inline clutches No new parts except hubs, joints and PU stuff.
  7. Axle can't be inserted through hub, you can only drive it with the new CV joint which has friction and axle can be inserted only 1 stud deep.
  8. I think the tolerances are a bit tight, but after first use they run smooth. Connection is very strong, I'd compare it to a ball joint.
  9. I tested the hubs with an RC motor and after a few minutes the CV joints seems to have "break in" and there is now much less friction, even at high angle of around 40 degrees
  10. Also, gear ratio of the hub is not 1:5 but more close to 1:5,5. It feels very well lubricated and very well fixed.
  11. I managed to tried the CV joint angle. It can go up to some 40 degrees, but at such high angles there is quite some friction to overcome due to the sliding surfaces. It works reasonably smooth up to 30 degrees. But the plastic of the male part is quite soft and I noticed some scratches on the inner guides after playing with the joint by my hand...
  12. Have a read here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulse-width_modulation
  13. The XL motor is geard up two times by 20:12 gear ratio, than it goes to a diff, 28:20 and than to the hubs. Total gear ratio should be around 1:2,52
  14. IMO the only reason Lego put independent suspension on this model was to raise the ground clearance of the axles.
  15. Just build mod yourself, should be easy enough!
  16. That's a shame, I think it needs a counterweight so it doesnt lock up.
  17. I bet it weighs around 1200 grams, with 100 grams tolerance EDIT With batteries included
  18. Why would you tilt the axle, it makes zero sense. The phone control logo is showing tilting of the control unit.
  19. Looking at the front steering geometry which is anti-ackermann, I dont expect a steering angle higher than 25 degrees.
  20. I have a feeling that hubs will come preassmbled from the factory. They may even use same planetary gear elements as the motors do?
