From the info I saw, you can pass the axle though it all the way and that would also make sense for use case of holding the sign.- 5,504 replies

No stops, 2 out of 5L have friction, and remaining 3L have none.- 5,504 replies

2 studs of the joiner have friction and 3 studs are frictionless. You can also see that by shape, usually smooth outer shape means frictionless like small and large CV joints, etc...- 5,504 replies

Probbaly less parts needed and smoother then stacking axle joiners. I feel they will be useful in Botanicals too.- 5,504 replies

Anyone wanna take bets on what color the new double headed 4L CV joint will be? My bet is on Dark Bluish Gray. Can't wait to have suspension, drive, working steering wheel, fake engine, etc all the components to make supercars now in 1:12 scale!- 5,504 replies

I featured the topic and it is in the front page, the problem is that there's no photo, so it's not shown.

It's nice to see you back with another ingenious model in your signature colors. The single chain doing all the work is simply billiant and having a bit of color to see it move is a great touch too.

AWD 42109 TG Rally Car
Zerobricks replied to N1K0L4's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well done, glad to help inspire you! I see it drifts really nice and seems to be easy to control. Only question/commend for improvement would be, why not use the clucth becel version of the 20 tooth gear to reduce friction? -

Well done! There should be a 7L steering rack and 4L links for the steering system, I think they are behind the axle and the horizontal shared shock is in the front of the axle. -

New CVs are classical, otherwise the Skyline would have used hubs from 42160 on all wheels. But this model doesn't use any new Cvs, only new 4 stud steering links. -
I agree, I think pneumatics with 1 motor + battery box would be a better fit here. Not to mention in this particular case pneumatics might be more efficient than driving a long series of gears and you could control several functions at once. AAAAAND there should be space left for a hidden compressor tank or two. You could still have a switch to switch between compressor and tracks for example.

One more thing to add. The set has 3 shock absorbers, so I think the ones in the rear keep the pendular axle leveled and the third one is shared by both sides of the front suspension to act as a suspended pendular axle. -

No links listed, so that confirms new ones used in this model -

I think it uses a ball joint live axle in the back and independent suspension with 4L steering links in the front.
