  1. Just ditch the orange cupboards, they look rubbish! Paul P.S. The rest is awsome!
  2. yes it will work, however it cosmetically won't look as good, and you may need to slightly modify the tender in order to house the battery box. you will though then have to purchase AA batteries, as a positive, you would not need the expensive battery pack or the even more expensive battery pack charger. i'm not sure which battery pack lasts longer on a full charge? hope this helps. Paul
  3. I think a truck of this size needs a twin bin lifter on the back end
  4. I have a feeling it is £6 for the small cups and £11 for the large cups?
  5. I wonder why he did not just build the house within the grounds of Legoland Windsor in the first place? Would have over come all issues of transporting the bricks to Legoland, especially as they were considering transporting it to Legoland? Makes no sense, it could have stood forever then Paul
  6. I found the random pink brick quite amusing. I was very annoyed with the woman that said "If her boyfriend said he was into Lego she would not be seen dead with him" I just don't understand why she then went and helped build bricks for the project??? Kinda contradictory Although I though this was a fantastic achievement, in terms of shear scale, I was annoyed he did not spend any time looking at the history of the product as such, also he did not get in touch with any of the enthusiast groups which he has done so in all the other programs in the series. Although this is by far my favorite toy, I don't know this was the best in the series, I think the scalectrix one was better. Also if he has consulted some AFOL's, I don't think they would have had all the issues with structural integrity of some of the pieces of furniture! That designer woman, did not have a clue how to work with bricks! my feelings, role on the hornby one next week, hopefully it will be good as well. Paul
  7. Looks like the fireship from set 8831 http://guide.lugnet.com/set/4031
  8. I'm about to place a fairly hefty Christmas order with shop at home for myself :-) anyone know if there are any discount codes on the back of the most recent catalogues for the UK? I don't appear to be on the mailing list anymore :-( Freebies, free shipping, 10% discount (would be nice) would be gutted to find I've spent a couple of hundred quid and missed out on an offer, It's about time we got VIP reward points on shop at home as well as in store! Paul
  9. I nearly ordered this the other week from Shop at Home, held off and then it was out of stock, annoyed by all these people buying this set just to sell it on for twice the price on fleabay. By pure chance I went into my rubbish local town, and in a games shop I spotted this set in the window, went in and got the last available set! Could not believe my luck, The guy behind me in the shop also wanted the set, I was so lucky! Happy days Paul
  10. As per blackbirds comment earlier, does the rear arm traverse along the back of the tractor? Or is it fixed, hard to see in the pictures, I guess it may be fixed as you don't mention additional motors or pneumatics to make it move? But all in all, very nice
  11. http://www.theage.com.au/drive/motor-news/...91112-iaix.html
  12. The recommended website is very good, as you can see from the pictures and I confirm from watching the hook loader when it delivered our skips at work, the skip has to slide backwards about half way along the bed of the truck before it starts tilting, this will allow the wheels on the skip to hit the floor before it becomes vertical Hope this helps Paul
  13. Our stupid WH Smiths gave us the frog yesterday, when we complained they said they only issued the contents of the box they were given, we pointed out it obviously says that the frog was Tuesday's promo! errrrrr
  14. Does anyone know the background on this little promo set, the images and images of the instructions exist on the internet, but no signs of where the promo set was made for, none I can find on ebay, bricklink or the like. Just wondered if anyone knows anything about it, it's the sort of set I expected to be included in this Daily Mail Lego giveaway promotion but sadly not? http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=5642-1 http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/whung/2009/City/5642.jpg Thanks Paul
  15. I guess you midlanders did not spend enough money supporting your local store when you had one and that is why Lego closed it. That and putting the store inside the bullring just after if was built/redeveloped. I guess the rent must have been sky high! At least it's only an hours drive to Milton Keynes for you,
  16. I got the frog earlier this year in a Lego shop, they were supporting a charity, you put a pound into the chairty tin an got a frog? I guess they had a few left over?
  17. Can't believe it, I've just bought 2 of these tractors from the Czech Republic on bricklink! errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  18. Just spotted this calendar on shop at home, seems quite an unusual way for Lego to go, although supporting charity is good, and the pictures look like they have some comedy aspect in them as well: (See the lego man under the incoming tennis ball!) http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?...cn=61&d=100
  19. I'm annoyed Lego do not make an 8 wide windshield, I always think using two 4 wide windshields ruins the effect on 8 wide vehicles for me.
  20. This seems a little excessive for what it achieves? £50 in PF components for a couple of flashing lights, maybe not. Interesting idea though
  21. So much for NO pirates sets in 2010!
  22. How cool is the guy in the Hawaiian shirt!
  23. These aren't my cows, but I nicked the idea, built 10 of them and copied down the guy's programming, but you get the idea of what mine do x 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxL3VL3gHag Burf2000, where are you from, hampshire sounds close to me, I'm in Aldershot
  24. Mine sits in it's box most of the time! But I have made Lego Cows using the designs online where their heads move when the sensor is activated,
