  1. I think it was either £45 - £50 - £55 GBP from memory
  2. Yeah, that pretty much guarantees this set is 100% coming out later this year!
  3. I don't get it, we were told last time, they used up all the Maersk Blue on the last production run, Now it's back! mmmm, I got the original 2005 version, before the it was re-released in 2006, did they not change the stickers between the 2 previous versions? Paul
  4. I love coming home from work, checking out Eurobricks expecting to see another Star wars competition and hey presto, a new truck for our lego city which I did not expect to see Is this likely to be an internation TRU product or just in the USA?
  5. I'd email lego customer services and tell them the sticker sheet was crumpled inside the box, this would hardly be a lie as 99 in 100 sticker sheets are screwed up these days, they will just post out another one. Question is, do you think they will still have sticker sheets they could send out from sets of yester year?
  6. We really need a Toy Story Mr Potato Head and Slinky Dog!
  7. Hi Blakbird, Do you also have the Dacta educational sets to add to your site in the future? I remember some of them from my school days :-)
  8. I'm curretly collecting old technic sets (used, in good condition, stickers, box and instructions present) and what I just don't get is why the sets we all consider above to be some of the best ever made don't seem to hold there worth logically? ebay Average selling price of 8880 is £80 - 90 Average selling price of 8480 is £90 - £120 Average selling price of 8868 is £80 In yet a set like 8285 (Tow Truck) which is only a few years old and although had a couple of pneumatic cylinders was nothing special is currently selling for between £110 - £130. I just don't get it? Anyone know the logic of what makes 8285 so expensive? I now kick myself for not picking this up at Legoland a couple of years ago for £82
  9. Love it, just think it needs a bigger bucket!
  10. I'm sure this will be a big seller in the USA, anywhere else, I'm not sure?
  11. I rarely buy 2 copies of the same set, but I did on the snow groomer as I liked the arctic tracker vehicle as well, another one from recent years was the small set 8296, I thought the the tractor with the spring loaded plough was possibly a better set than the beech buggy main model: But normally the main model is better :-)
  12. I'm sure this has been asked a million times before, but the answer to your question probably lies in one of these 3 sets: The ability to rotate the turntable of the air claw rig using pneumatics was pure genius! They are probably regarded as the most technical sets built by Lego, certainly by old school builders, However in terms of the new studless models, these 3 sets must rank fairly high, although the bulldozer does not fit everyones tastes as it is not that complex, it did provide a good cheap source of power functions parts when it was released. Paul
  13. I actually think these prices are just about ok, I know we were promised cheaper sets because of no metal rails, but giving the last remote trains were around £100 for the old cargo train, I think I would really have expected to see at least one set of lights included for this price, but I think it's OK, especially giving the UK has seen a 15 - 20% price increase in general since last year when Lego spotted it was selling strongly despite a credit crunch! I thought they were going to charge us £150 for the cargo train! Paul
  14. As I say, I think there is a minimal risk with kids where they could plug in the plug part into the socket without the transformer being present and then there is a risk with small fingers they could touch the live pins? It is a small risk but nether the less a risk when you are a toy manufacturer. For the small additional cost to the company to have separate transformers, this is a minor cost for customer safety.
  15. I think this has something to do with the adaptor being used on a kids toy and not a mobile phone for adults, we have a similar thing on some of our medical devices at work. It is probably written somewhere in the low voltage directive that says they can't make them like this? Paul
  16. I don't understand the concept and peoples love for re-releasing old sets, you want old sets, buy them on ebay or bricklink, they may be expensive, but that is kind of the idea behind collectables, you don't see matchbox releasing an old classic car from the 70's. I'd far rather see Lego put their efforts into releasing new more detailed and functional technic sets. Paul
  17. Why oh why did they not make the doors the same height as the panels, so annoying having to bridge the doors with a 1 x 6 brick :-(
  18. OMG, I'm still trying to collect the first series! I genuinely think Lego may have stumbled on the best release for them in 2010! I really can see these turning into the equivilent of a sticker album for kids! The point of sale is spot on, the price is right, they have managed to get them in nearly 2 shops in every town, a Lego marketing bod has earn't his paycheque this year!
  19. They done alright from me, I bought 3 open wagons, 1 caboose, 2 passenger cars, 10 tankers and 5 hopper wagons, I don't know I could have bought many more to help support my hobby :-) Strange though, this method of single cars seems to work well for Hornby? Paul
  20. This is really a question for anyone in the UK who has ordered the Lithium Battery and charger from the Lego.com website, on the site it says to order transformer 8887 to be able to charge the battery, the picture shows a European 2 pin charger/transformer, is this what you actually get or did they substitute this for a 3 pin UK plug instead when you ordered it? I've asked Lego directly but still no answer yet. I guess if it is a European plug, which I cannot believe they would be able to supply for a children's toy, I guess you just use a travel adaptor. Paul
  21. I saw your pics on brickshelf yeterday so got myself an early glimpse, must say my only real disappointment is that they have changed the standard size configeration of the shipping containers? This is a very strange decission, also quite annoying that they could not have included one extra small container to fill up the truck. Apart from that, a nice set, how well does the train pull? The price seems steep, without the lithium battery and the cheap non metal rails I thought they may have kept this around the £100 GBP. Does the train have any working headlights? or is it easy to add these? A standard feature time past? Paul And when will lego engage their brains and put the dreaded sticker sheet inside the instructions so it does not get creased, of course in the good ol days this would have been protected in a plastic tray :-)
  22. Must be quite a bit of counterbalance weight in the back of the tracked veichle?
  23. Divers was by far one of the best sub town themes ever made, so much so, I picked up all the sets in the line, most MISB from bricklink about 5 years ago when they were cheap, the are not MISB anymore :-) I personally loved the ship from set 6560 the best but all the ships and boats were very good in this series, all brick built, I was especially taken with the mini submarines in these sets,
  24. I thought it looked like the old 9v train speed regulator in the shop, but hey I guess lego always had lots of them left over, I'm wondering how the tram will work, will it have car wheels? Will it have mini train wheels to run on tracks? will it be designed to run on regular 6 wide train track or the micro 4 wide indiana jones track?
