  1. yes, I remember the working fountain using the boat hull, it was very clever
  2. Although I don't yet own Town Plan, I believe I am right in saying this is the only one of the 5 sets that comes with loads of stickers, which is a negative for this quality of buildings IMO I like GG
  3. apart from the awesome ro-ro recycle lorry of 1992, which had a brilliant mechanism, obviously built to the old school scale http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6668 and not to forget the one in the train set 4564 freight rail runner http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?q=4564_1&v=z But yours is cool too Paul
  4. What like 90% of real life diggers? makes a chance from people complaining the models are not realistic!
  5. I find brickset.co.uk bloody really slow as well as peeron :-(
  6. Wheres the minifig sit? great incorporationof the motor
  7. I don't normally visit this forum, but for anyone that is collecting these, if you buy the paper in WH Smths, you don't have to hand over the token, you can then mail order a set as well :-)
  8. mmm, I'm a 694 Transport Truck, could be a lot worse! http://guide.lugnet.com/set/694
  9. I want a bank and a post office, they can't discontinue this theme yet!
  10. I'm kind of hoping these might be available in the UK later this year through the daily mail, looking at the set numbers, 30004, 5 and 6 (Star Wars Set) are currently being given away in the UK with a daily newspaper, we can only hope like last year the paper will do these town promos shortly :-)
  11. Do you mean it's available on shop at home UK (which it is) or available in one of the UK lego stores? If yes, which one? Thinking of a trip to bluewater but don't want to waste the trip!
  12. According to this website: 22nd October until 27th October http://www.legoworld.nl/english
  13. I totally understand your box issue, but one day you will really kick yourself for doing that to the boxes!
  14. I once happened upon a very nice haul, clear pneumatic cylinders and blue compressor pumps which to my knowledge can only be found within set 3800 Ultimate Builders Set, one which I never managed to purchase. But I guess someone had split up the sets and chucked the cylinders into the PAB wall, I ended up with about 20 of each, nice for £11! Thank you Lego Shop Bluewater!
  15. I totally collect, I want perfect non damaged bricks, I'm collecting and preserving sets I missed as a child, I want instructions and full stickers with my sets. mmmm Paul
  16. I spotted it on the UK Toys R Us UK website earlier this week, http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Toys/Co...0Trailer%208063 I'm still in shock by the price rises we have seen in the UK on Technic this year, I'm sure I only paid £40 or £45 GBP for the last tractor and this one is double the price to get the trailer, but I quite like the trailer even with it's limited functions. Like someone said earlier, I'm loving some of the unique selling points of this model, from the TRU UK website: "The engine hood can also be opened" Wow, should keep kids and afols amused for hours that one!
  17. Don't forget my competition winning Gritter ;-) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...itter&st=15
  18. At least the puzzle of whether this set was a real set has been put to rest, However, I quite like it and I think I will buy it, looking at the tractor functions from a more positive view than everyone else, It's a tractor, we have only had a couple in the last 20 years, it has good features like the PTO and the 3 point linkage, it is begging for AFOL's to make farm machinery attachments to use with the tractor. Everyone was moaning about the colour scheme of the old tractor, now we have a good colour tractor You get a bonus free linear actuator! At least with the green panels it makes the trailer functional and you can fill it with bricks and tip them out, try doing that with 8415 dump truck. Paul
  19. Was this a brand new model or a fleabay purchase? It's very rare to find a genuine Lego brick without the Lego logo on it? If it was ebay, begs the question whether they are a substitute chain link? Paul
  20. You are right, that will teach me not to read posts correctly!
  21. I don't think the recession is the reason their sales have increased. I think it's because the product offering this year has been one of the best ever! Good products make AFOL's buy more!
  22. In addition to this: The slot must make them less of a choking hazard as well. Finally the new design is a lot easier to remove, I remember the old pins being a real bast**d to remove, you often had to resort to using your teeth which was neither good for your teeth or the pins!
  23. Hi Blackbird, Are we due another installment of Technicopedia soon? Looking forward to 1994! Paul
  24. Right, Just finished building my wheeled loader which I picked up at Legoland Windsor yesterday, a great build, I have one question, how many black connector pins did people have left over? normally I would only expect to have 1 left at the end as a spare but I have 4, just before I start trawling the instruction manuals comparing where I may have missed the step which says to use them! I wondered if anyone remembers how many they had left? Also there is another random item on this model, In instruction manual 2, page 2 (Step 49) I understand the point of the yellow beam for strength, but WTF is the vertical black 2x2 modified plate for? I wondered if anyone else spotted this? and had any ideas? Paul
  25. Lego has to keep those pyromaniac minifigs under control!
