  1. What I don't like, I wish they had made the walkway 2 tracks wide, I've never seen a train station where you can get onto the same train from both sides of the train, the doors only ever open one side, therefore the solution is 2 tracks, accessing 1 train from either platform. I think this set will look good if I can buy 4 of them, widen the bridges, this will make like a larger modular train station, but the price seems reasonable?
  2. This has to be a £60 set tops, there is less to it than the new airport. Bus nice Roadsweeper nice New bike nice Very european feel to this set giving TRU is more popular in the USA Lots of stickers ..... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Toy story sets all have nice printed pieces, why not town sets? After all, the prices are going through the roof
  3. Brickset are showing some new dacta sets for 2010, I'm loving the old school scale "air and space" set. Those planes are really nice, lots of small bricks for your money, and available through Amazon USA at a reasonable price! Brickset Link Paul *** SORRY - Please can an admin move this to the Town Forum, my bad. ***
  4. Just spotted this picture on brickset for 2010 sets, Shows 2 new unseen power functions components, I really love the way Lego are developing the look of Power Functions, This set appears to combine some form of generator or dynamo with a device like a multimeter maybe showing the output of the generator? Brickset linky Could be interesting depending on exactly what that Electronic brick does? Paul
  5. OK, now I've actually built the set myself, I'm not the biggest fan of American style big rig trucks, but this is quite detailed, and well finished, however the trailer is very very poor, literally just a box on wheels, a real shame, the trailer doors could have been full height, having a 1 x 6 brick bridging the gap is poor. The trailer wheels are barely held onto the box part of the trailer, The mini lego sets are very cool though. Paul
  6. No way, you beat me to the review, just picked this up from the Legoland Windsor Brick Brothers Shop. £29.99 minus Annual pass discount Paul
  7. I tried to make the pictures smaller, I turned the mega pixals right down on the camera which is why some of the pics are blurry, I just wish there was a simple program where you could put you picture into it, tell it the size you want the picture and it saves it as requested. If anyone can resize, please go ahead. Paul
  8. INDEXED At last I've bought myself this years Airline Promo set, these are actually always good little sets, normally priced around £15 GBP if you can get them on the planes, (This year available on KLM airlines apparently) however I picked my copy up on Bricklink for around £25 including shipping to the UK. The most unusual thing about the promo sets, is unlike regular sets where the front box artwork deplicts the actual size of the set, because these sets need to be sold on planes where storage space is limited, the boxes have to be keep very small. This means you get a lot of bricks for the size of the box. This years set contains 105 bricks, and no sticker sheets :-) Front of Box Back of Box Bags Instructions Random Page Contents Minifig (possible new torso?) I'm not 100% sure on whether all of these are new bricks, the canopy is very good and I'm sure this is new, the wheel arches may have been seen previously in a racers set? I also forgot to shwo the 2 x 4 white tile which is also a new piece for 2010. New Bricks, New canopy, and what appears to be smaller plane wheel holders, Possible new wings as well? Step by Step Building Instructions Just fix the propellor on! Final Pic In comparison with previous Airline Promos This years set is a good little set, it's a shame there is only 1 minifig as we have nearly always seen 2 in the past. The cockpit canopy is really good. Here is a little reminder of previous airline promos: I don't remember this one!
  9. The motorised chicked is so the winner! I'm still smiling :-)
  10. No brainer, monorail track!
  11. I was so hoping these downhill mountain bikes were going to be released either as an official or promo set
  12. As mentioned above, the real benefit of the big battery box with 6 AA batteries is a counterweight,
  13. loving the lathe, thats a really unusual suggestion for an alternative model
  14. I once saw a clever roof made from Lego Car seats? very strange but looked good. Can't find the link :-(
  15. I must admit, I have a couple of sets I've put to one side, mainly as I don't have the space to build them, i normally always build at least 1 copy. however I'm always amazed when on fleabay I see 12 volt trains MISB turn up or a 6399 airport shuttle, back in the 80's money was tight, many people could hardly afford to buy one copy of the top end sets, I am amazed they then took them home and did not open them for 30 years, then one day they chuck them on ebay Beats me. Paul
  16. I think there is a better chance this will make a really good RED cement mixer over in the town forum, I'm not convinced many technic fans will see large technic molds like this one to be the most useful pieces in their collection :-)
  17. Bumper cars are much harder to make work sucessfully that it looks, I tried a chain driven system, with a magnet attached to the chain but it was a failure, love the mirror ball, nice touch
  18. shame he did not come with a black batman style cape and a white rabbit!
  19. I spotted these in the lego store bluewater a couple of weeks ago, never mentioned it as it did not cross my mind at the time
  20. I always regret not picking one of these up with 10% discount at Legoland, now I want one for my collection, they are selling on fleabay for nearly twice the price! And I'm sitting on a MISB 10152 Maserk Sealand (2005 edition) ;-) Fingers crossed! Here is another I wish I picked up, I think these will be worth their weight in money!
  21. I read blackbirds technopedia page on this truck the other week, went onto ebay and picked up a MISB copy for £25 GBP Bargin, great to get old sets unopened, peeling the plastic off of the specialist parts was always cool! Love the front suspension
  22. Shame about the part numbers being the same on both bags
  23. Small quad bike with trailer, sheep dog, and half a dozen sheep, with a couple of fences :-)
  24. Makes me wonder whether the under 15's have deep voices and a good growth of stubble! Their models are on a par with the adults, maybe even a little better in places, mmmmmmm
  25. Totally agree, on large builds it is normally a small error caused by misunderstanding the instructions, backtracking to find the error is fun, I always used to be caught out with the dark grey and black beams, a couple of years ago, the instructions were really hard to distinguish the correct colours. Seems a little better now days though, You can always disassemble the set, count the beams and compare against the parts list :-) just to double check,
