  1. I think it's pretty much guaranteed that 10320 will always ship separately. They have a custom shipping box for it. You're probably receiving a single shipment comprised of two packages. That's how it is for UPS in the United States. I don't think my problem has anything to do with how it was shipped. It seems to have been packed poorly at the factory. I guess when the Majisto GWP comes out, I'll have to go to the store to pick up one with a good box.
  2. I just got mine. Did anyone else have a problem with the box not being packed properly? My shipping box was in perfect condition, but the set box wasn't taped properly and all of the bags were just smashed into the bottom, stretching the box tight. The instructions were also not taped properly.
  3. Yeah, I don't care about the goat either. It's one of the least interesting animals. I'd rather see the cow and horse produced in more traditional colors again. I'd love them to bring back the white and black horse and have the cow made in white with black spots. And if the goat does return, by any objective standards, it will be one of the least interesting things about this set. We've gotten extremely few civilian themed castle sets ever since the beginning, so basically everything about this is more interesting than a goat. I would say welcome a new goat, but I could think of dozens, or even hundreds of parts I would rather see return than the goat. How about those trans yellow plates, huh? Or better plumes, or castle doors... I could go on for hours. All of these things would be more interesting than a goat.
  4. I also ordered mine the minute the GWPs became available. I was surprised there wasn't a wait. I ordered the little Technic dump truck with it to make sure I qualified, although I think the actual effective threshold was less than they said. My order shipped immediately and it's coming tomorrow. I'm very excited to build it and see it in person.
  5. This thread is funny. I've never seen so many comments accomplishing so little. It seems like everyone just keeps writing the same things over and over again.
  6. Welcome! Are you already aware of the new Eldorado Fortress?
  7. What do you all think of the lute from the Chinese new year set? I hadn't noticed it before, but it just showed up on PAB. Does it fit into the castle theme? It looks pretty cool, but maybe it's supposed to be imitating a different type of instrument? I'm not sure.
  8. I also like the non printed shakos, largely because printed parts are so much more expensive on PAB, and I think they look more like Lego. The more I look at these minifigures though, the less happy I am with them, to be honest. That little string thing is driving me crazy. It's such a specific thing for them to wear an award on their uniforms. What if I don't want them to be French? What if I don't want them to he competent, as they weren't in the comics? I was really excited about this torso in particular because I regret selling my 2015 ones. Now I regret it even more because I just don't like these. I haven't seen them in person yet though, and I generally feel more positive about Lego stuff when I see it in person. With all of this talk about the quality of the printing, I wonder how many people would have actually preferred if they printed on a white torso instead, like the original. I actually think the original is still the best because I think there's too much contrast between it he blue torso and the white legs. Yeah, the printing was meant to imply that the had blue shirts on, but I think it actually looked better in practice. I just ordered my copy tonight to get the Blacktron GWP. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person. I love the building itself based on what I've seen so far. But I agree that the minifigures seem to be lacking. It seems like the 2015 ones were better, except I like the red epaulettes better. I'm very glad to see those return after such a long absence.
  9. I've never paid attention because I always assumed that designation was actually for licensed sets, but now it seems to be a catch all for stuff they don't want to sell on PAB. I wish I had checked the Galaxy Explorer when it came out. The torsos on that set have never been available, but the set also seems to be a Walmart exclusive. I don't know what the deal is. They're not marked as IP elements at the moment, so I'm hoping they show up soon. It has been a year since the release, so it would make sense for their contract to end soon.
  10. I'll paste the response I wrote on the thread for Eldorado Fortress:
  11. If you go to the Missing Pieces page on their website, you can use the network inspector tool in your browser to get the curl command for the request that populates the element list for a set. If you're using MacOS or Linux, you can paste this into your terminal to download the data for a set. SET_NO=10320 curl "https://bricksandpieces.cs.services.lego.com/api/v1/bricks/product/${SET_NO}?country=US&orderType=broken" --compressed -H 'User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/114.0' -H 'Accept: application/json, text/plain, */*' -H 'Accept-Language: en-US,en;q=0.5' -H 'Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, br' -H 'x-api-key: saVSCq0hpuxYV48mrXMGfdKnMY1oUs3s' -H 'Origin: https://www.lego.com' -H 'DNT: 1' -H 'Connection: keep-alive' -H 'Referer: https://www.lego.com/' -H 'Sec-Fetch-Dest: empty' -H 'Sec-Fetch-Mode: cors' -H 'Sec-Fetch-Site: same-site' -H 'Sec-GPC: 1' -H 'Pragma: no-cache' -H 'Cache-Control: no-cache' -H 'TE: trailers' > "${SET_NO}.json" And if you have jq installed, you can also format it to make it more legible: SET_NO=10320 curl "https://bricksandpieces.cs.services.lego.com/api/v1/bricks/product/${SET_NO}?country=US&orderType=broken" --compressed -H 'User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/114.0' -H 'Accept: application/json, text/plain, */*' -H 'Accept-Language: en-US,en;q=0.5' -H 'Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, br' -H 'x-api-key: saVSCq0hpuxYV48mrXMGfdKnMY1oUs3s' -H 'Origin: https://www.lego.com' -H 'DNT: 1' -H 'Connection: keep-alive' -H 'Referer: https://www.lego.com/' -H 'Sec-Fetch-Dest: empty' -H 'Sec-Fetch-Mode: cors' -H 'Sec-Fetch-Site: same-site' -H 'Sec-GPC: 1' -H 'Pragma: no-cache' -H 'Cache-Control: no-cache' -H 'TE: trailers' | jq . > "${SET_NO}.json" You can also filter only the ones that are designated as IP elements: $ jq '.bricks[] | select(.isIPElement)' 10320.json { "color": "Blue", "colorFamily": "Br.Blue", "description": "MINI UPPER PART, NO. 6629", "designId": 76382, "isIPElement": true, "imageUrl": "https://www.lego.com/cdn/product-assets/element.img.lod5photo.192x192/6444301.jpg", "itemNumber": 6444301, "itemQuantity": 1, "price": { "amount": 0, "currency": "" }, "maxAmount": 1, "isAvailable": true, "unavailableReason": null, "isSoldOut": true, "category": "Figure Parts", "materialType": "ELEMENT" } { "color": "Blue", "colorFamily": "Br.Blue", "description": "MINI UPPER PART, NO. 6631", "designId": 76382, "isIPElement": true, "imageUrl": "https://www.lego.com/cdn/product-assets/element.img.lod5photo.192x192/6444336.jpg", "itemNumber": 6444336, "itemQuantity": 5, "price": { "amount": 0, "currency": "" }, "maxAmount": 5, "isAvailable": true, "unavailableReason": null, "isSoldOut": true, "category": "Figure Parts", "materialType": "ELEMENT" } { "color": "White", "colorFamily": "White", "description": "ADMIRALS HAT, NO. 12", "designId": 103623, "isIPElement": true, "imageUrl": "https://www.lego.com/cdn/product-assets/element.img.lod5photo.192x192/6436389.jpg", "itemNumber": 6436389, "itemQuantity": 1, "price": { "amount": 0, "currency": "" }, "maxAmount": 1, "isAvailable": true, "unavailableReason": null, "isSoldOut": true, "category": "Figure, Head Clothing", "materialType": "ELEMENT" } { "color": "White", "colorFamily": "White", "description": "FLAG 6X4, W/ 2 HOLDERS, NO. 4", "designId": 103621, "isIPElement": true, "imageUrl": "https://www.lego.com/cdn/product-assets/element.img.lod5photo.192x192/6436387.jpg", "itemNumber": 6436387, "itemQuantity": 1, "price": { "amount": 0, "currency": "" }, "maxAmount": 1, "isAvailable": true, "unavailableReason": null, "isSoldOut": true, "category": "Signs, Flags And Poles", "materialType": "ELEMENT" }
  12. It was $50 at Walmart in November, and it was $75 for a few months before that. I ended up getting seven of them. I would have bought more at $50 if I had known the torsos wouldn't be available though.
  13. Nope, and I'm kind of freaking out at this point because I bought all of the other parts for those minifigures and my hoard will be useless without them. It seems 10497 is a Walmart exclusive. It's possible that they had a one year contract, and the torsos will become available either this month or next... I hope?
  14. I'd love to read more about those stories because I'm having trouble imagining how it wouldn't be obvious. Sure, a woman could be flat chested. But unless we're talking about a really young kid, like someone who could pass as a prepubescent boy, the voice, lack of facial hair, etc. should have given it away pretty quickly. What age of women are we talking here? I would think that the older the woman is, the harder it would be to pass as a male of any age. And in the military, there were probably tons of occasions where they would be expected to urinate in view of other people or be naked in various situations. But apparently they pulled it off for some length of time, or at least were convincing enough to make someone afraid to ask.
  15. Nexo Knights? Do you mean Bionicle?
  16. It wasn't even a rumor. People were just saying they'd like to see it and it's possible with the current selection of parts. That's all.
  17. I'll say though that it was interesting that this set has more 2x4 bricks than any other set. I think he said it was 63.
  18. He had the opportunity to ask the designer any question and he chose to ask why Eldorado Fortress focuses on the soldiers instead of the pirates? Really?
  19. Hmm. I'm still not a fan. That makes them too specific. I also think it contradicts the idea that Broadside and his men were incompetent. I wish I still had my 2015 torsos. I bought a bunch of them from B&P back then. I actually got them before the sets were even released. I sold them a few years ago and now I'm kicking myself for it. I guess they were looking for some minor detail to make them different from the old ones. They probably should have just reused the 2015 torsos.
  20. I haven't seen anyone mention the New Elementary review. I was wondering why people weren't discussing the new parts, so I checked to see if they had reviewed it yet. It turns out there's not much new here that isn't immediately obvious. But it's interesting that they point out the purpose of that line of round plates is to hold the ramp in place. Apparently it just fits perfectly under the rim of that piece! By the way, does anyone know what the string on the soldier torso is supposed to represent? It kind of annoys me, but maybe I'll appreciate it if I know what it is.
  21. The quality and color consistency has never been up to par ever since Lego started coloring the plastic in house. Hold a yellow brick up to the light and you'll see it shining right through. It's noticeable to me when I look at a tub full of parts from five feet away. I hate it, but there's still nothing I can do about it unless I go the route of exclusively buying vintage parts, which doesn't leave me with a lot of options these days. I imagine a lot of people would jump ship if Lego didn't have exclusive rights to minifigures. I don't think I would be one of them though because I've never seen another company that puts as much effort into the designs. Like I mentioned earlier, companies like Bluebrixx basically sell MOCs. They look good, but in my opinion, they aren't really polished products. That's also why I'm not interested in the Bricklink sets. From what I've seen in reviews, they look terrific but they're not up to Lego's design standards. I wish they would give them the Ideas treatment instead. Take the concept and refine it into a finished product, including new prints and so forth. That's what Ideas should be in my opinion, but the products that result from that are either a bunch of licensed crap or random objects. There have been a few good Ideas sets, but I think they're by far the exception. I think the bottom line is that everything about making Lego products is difficult. It's hard to make quality parts, hard to design good sets, and hard to please such a diverse group of fans across the world who all have different ideas of what the product should look like. As much as I complain about them, I don't envy their position here because they'll never be able to make a decision that makes everyone happy. For instance, if they went back to their old plastic supplier and used higher quality molds, the price would probably go up by a lot and we might see a lot fewer colors, and they may not be able to even meet the demand. Then people would complain about that.
  22. Yeah, I know. That's why I don't see anyone else becoming a serious competitor. It's just not going to happen without the minifigures. The best they can hope for is that customers will fill their sets with minifigures they bought from Lego.
  23. I couldn't ever consider anything to be a serious competitor to Lego if they don't sell minifigures. I'm not sure if I would be much of a Lego fan today if they didn't have minifigures. Yeah, we spend most od our time building with the bricks, but it feels pretty meaningless if you can't bring it to life with characters at the end. Except for occasional Technic sets, I almost exclusively buy minifigure scale sets. The minifigures are at least half the fun and I've never seen any other brick figure that doesn't look awful. (Bluebrixx figures look like little dolls for three year old girls.) Bluebrixx has some cool designs, but personally, I only appreciate them in the same way I admire people's MOCs. They don't look like fun playsets. They're intricate designs, but pretty boring from a playability standpoint and the lack of minifigures make them a very hard pass for me. But I still respect the skill of the designers. I've often wondered what I would do if someone started reproducing old Lego sets with the same level of quality as the original. Would I buy a clone of Rocky Reef or Skeleton Crew if the only difference was the absence of the Lego logo? To be honest, I have no idea how I would feel about that. I might buy it just to try it out. I would definitely never mix it with real Lego. I'm not sure if I'd ever really be on board with a clone brand because it just isn't the real deal. I have too much emotional attachment to the brand itself.
  24. I wonder if this set might have been meant to be larger originally and they redesigned it at a late stage after receiving negative feedback on having so many ludicrously expensive sets.
  25. Someone on Reddit a while back was saying that the trans neon colors were permanently retired. Is that true? That would pretty much ruin any potential '90s space reboot if so.
