  1. It was a fun novelty but the design does not lend itself to an accurate design. Would be very cool to say a figure scale one though.
  2. Ive always heard good things ahout Shadows of the Empire, is it worth reading?
  3. My personal list of EU stuff I hope returns to the canon: -Victory Class Star Destroyer -Director Isard -Rogue Squadron -Tycho Celchu Very good points, I had completely forgotten about the Senate and the need to hide the DS internally as well as externally.
  4. X-Wing Rogue Squadron. An incredible SW book that makes me sad Rogue Squadron has been usurped by Corona Squadron in the new canon. Wedge Antilles is a straight up boss. Isard and Tycho Celchu are no longer canon as well... I really want to go and reread that one.
  5. All these incredible AT-AT MOCs that are to scale with minifigures is really making me hungry for an AT-AT UCS.
  6. In a strange way I love this design and I honestly see them working as a next generation of Y-Wings for the New Republic. You did the design so much justice well done! I love it!
  7. With all the negativity around the Death Star I want to inject some positivity to this thread. THANK YOU LEGO GODS! Thank you for keeping the same Imperial officer torso print and giving us two more color variants before updating it. So now we can have a consistent officer corps in standard dark blue gray, white, black, and light blue gray. On top of that we're getting really cool updated naval troopers with back printing. This is really really cool and they fit in with our current imperial collections!
  8. I think the problem with the ghostbusters controversy is that there was a fog of war and nobody really knows who was or is on whose side. There were those who didnt like the movie as they were indeed sexist whilst others didnt because they simply did not enjoy it. Likewise there are people are probably enjoyed it due to the movie having an all female cast and those who liked it since they simply believed it to be good. My point being I think people are getting generalized into groups they dont neccesarily belong as per usual with the internet. Then of course this so called hanmer of justice will occasionally fall on the wrong person. There are no two sides to this issue, its a work of art and there will be many different interpretations. I think if someone says something sexist you just tell them dude thats not cool and move on with your life. You dont have to shame them or curse at them. Simply say thats not ccool and walk away. But dont assume people are sexist and go after them.
  9. I think based on what everyone is saying and the evidence in the films the clear difference between the completion of the two death stars is the development of the Super Laser. I think the hull for the first death star was completed first while the engineers and scientists still worked on refining the laser. This might explain why in Rogue One we see them lowering the dish onto it since the laser is still being tested. The empire had the benefit of knowing exactly what they were doing and how to build it when they aimed to make a second death star. I have a feeling that scene with Vader, Palpatine, and Tarkin is meant to be in the future by a couple years hence the Venators with lack of paint. Since the second DS was half completed by Return of the Jedi and that's 3 years to get to approximately 50% we can maybe guesstimate that the scene in Revenge of the Sith is a year or two after the events of the movie. however like you say Lucas wanted to end with the double sunset which is probably the best way to end the prequels. I believe according to what we now know from Rebels the first construction began around Geonosis or at least heavily involved the Geonosians hence the Imperial genocide of the planet.
  10. Depends on how crucial Thrawn is to next seasons plot. Hes going to be highly desired by AFoLs just like Tarkin but the question is does Lego know that? If Thrawn ends up being the equivalent of the Joker or Moriarty to the Rebels, then he could very well be the hot figure of the next wave. And hes cool looking to boot.
  11. Are these death troopers on the reddit?
  12. I didn't think a group of lego fans could sound more depressed. if anything the thread just reminds me how fortunate we are as SW fans to be getting anything at all.
  13. I have a crazy idea. What about dual molded black legs with black boots for the black clad imperial officers?
  14. There is a micro fighter with an imperial officer, but how they will look i'm not sure.
  15. See this is the reason leaks can also be terrible it leads us to a hundred different assumptions. We don't have a press announcement to go along with the set and we keep accusing TLG of being lazy. However for all we know and which is most likely the TLG had no intention of creating a new Death Star UCS. Is there many issues with the set absolutely and the fact the differences are so minimal beyond figures is rather annoying. My primary concern with the argument they decided to not fix that which was not broken is that like's they want to avoid taking any risk. Justifiable considering the disaster that was the Assault on Hoth. Still I, and I hope I don't sound entitled, would have preferred a figure scale UCS AT-AT. Now they have to realize that set if it was ever made would sell just as much as the Falcon set did and more. Plus a UCS AT-AT would fit the Assault on Hoth playset.
  16. Is there any canon explanation for why the first death star took nearly twenty years to complete and the second one took only 3 years to get operational?
  17. Adventure Time world looks fantastic! I just realized something about Dimensions. We're basically Jack Skellington going through the door to christmas land. There were all those doors leading to different dimensions in Nightmare Before Christmas...oh now i'm hoping with Disney involved we may get a Nightmare Before Christmas pack!
  18. Hold up there's a lego store in bethesda now? Is it bigger then the one at Tyson's Corner?
  19. It's because in the large scheme of things, historically there haven't been that many roles for minority actors and really still aren't. Yes things have improved dramatically from sixty years ago but there is still a bunch of under representation of minorities in hollywood and representation matters not just for careers but kids. If your a black kid yes you can connect to a white actor because we are all human, but nothing will beat seeing a superhero or a character that looks like you because the closer they represent you the more likely that could be you. It's part of the fantasy. For instance my High School advisor is a big star wars fan and he was telling me when he was a youngster watching Empire Strikes Back when it first released. He loved it and then Lando showed up and he was beyond ecstatic. Of course he loved Han Solo and Luke but he told me when he saw Lando he suddenly felt like he could belong in this universe that black people existed in that galaxy, because just like the MCU Star Wars is dominated by mostly a white cast. Thats not to say there's anything wrong with casting a white actor, i'm a white guy that used to do theatre however look at all the movies released. Look at all the video games main protagonists. All white dudes. For now since there aren't many roles for minority actors having a white actor play that role isn't helping to diversify media. That being said in sixty years time, where hopefully we get our act together, it won't matter if a white guy plays a black part (unless race is distinctly important to the character).
  20. I just dont know if im down with Voldemort getting down.
  21. I have no problem with Zendaya playing Mary Jane. Sure its not an exact fit but people of african descent can be red headed, but even if she isnt naturally does it matter since Dunst is as blonde as they come. Im more concerned with her getting the character right and since shes only just been cast we have no idea. Until proven otherwise I will keep an open mind and make my judgements when I sit down to watch the movie just as I did with Jared Leto before I watched Suicide Squad.
  22. You get to watch the Dark Knight for the first time? Ah man im jealous. If you enjoyed Begins then you will like the Dark Knight
  23. And if ones willing to pay $500 why not pay $600 for it? See how open ended that arguement is? Its not about the actual money but reather the value for the money. Where did that additional $100 go to improve the set? Most of us can only see minimum changes. None of the figures have new molds or even dual molding and the only new thing for the figures is some new prints, and yet most of them dont even have leg printing. For $500 why doesnt every figure have leg printing or arm printing or dual molding? This would have been the set to have a classic han solo figure with side of the leg printing as well as dual molded legs for boots.
  24. There's absolutely no way he won't at least cameo. The death star is Tarkin's project, he's so prominent in ANH which this movie precedes (that's not a spoiler btw) plus he's the dude Vader answers to. We may only see him briefly but I don't doubt he will show up. Will he show up in a set...I really really hope so. My worry is all the death star figures will end up going for $50 a piece on BL.
