  1. Independence Day Resurgence: Despite the bad reviews actually not that horrible of a movie. Very entertaining. Of course nowhere near the quality of the original classic. I would go into this not expecting much and without too serious an attitude about it. Only half of one of the cities is destroyed and of course I live is in the half that's destroyed I'm glad i'm not the only one to notice that. They practically used the same design.
  2. The Last Battlefield got me. I never realized how much I enjoyed and miss the years of watching the Clone Wars when I was younger. I still remember the lead up to the movie and how exciting it was to finally have new Star Wars material. The same way people talk about how the franchise being done after Return of the Jedi and then how exciting it was to get Heir to the Empire, I felt the same way about the Clone Wars.
  3. I might have to break down and buy the season 2 on blue ray as well so I can finally watch it in proper quality and not through other sources. I can't speak for the entirety of season 3 as obviously we still have a long ways to go until we get more information on what the overarching theme of the series is. For instance whether Thrawn is a success on the show will largely depend on how well they execute what his overall plan is and that most likely will be the finale. Thrawn is all about playing the long game, and if the long game doesn't pay off for the audience that'll be disappointed. However season 3 is I think even better then season 2 so far. If you like season 2 you'll love season 3. I imagine, and this is just my predictions, that there are going to be a bunch of Rogue One tie ins such as characters in that debuting here but later on in the season when we are closer to December. If anyone has seen the preview for tomorrow's episode and pieced a few things together there's already a loose connection to Rogue One in that. We still have to get X-Wings and U-Wings in the mix.
  4. I just realized something! Starkiller Base is basically revenge of the Thermal Exhaust Port. The gun is a giant port to the core that is in a trench around the center of the station. The exhaust port from the original is a giant hole to the core in the trench around the center of the station.
  5. Are Toys R Us exclusives only exclusive that to one store in the US and in other countries is sold everywhere Lego is sold normally?
  6. Empire of the Sun- Great movie and one of Christian Bale's first films. It's funny but I like to imagine him as a kid having a freakout like he did to the reporters on the set of Terminator Salvation. Porco Rosso- One of the lesser known Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli films. Excellent as all of Miyazaki's films are. Even in a film where his protagonist is a piggish womanizer, and a tad sexist, he still manages to portray strong female characters. This is one of his strengths as a storyteller to have such dynamic characters in each of his movies that really shines. Nausicca and the Valley of the Wing- Incredible movie. Miyazaki's first major film and all this time later still shines brilliantly.
  7. I never thought about it but wow we could get a Rathtar! We have to! Now THAT is exciting!
  8. If anything im happy Vader is going to finy be in a cheap set and im an owner of the Final Duel. He's just one of those characters every kid and AFOL should have so the fact he wasnt as readily available vexed me.
  9. Perhaps but we ARE getting a decent cheap set that looks great and has Thrawn in it! If that's indicative of anything however the fact that they included a cheap figure in such a small set is either due to fewer rebels sets coming out next year or a different economic approach. Rebels sets may not be selling nearly as well as the ought to and they figure pull back and put out a cheap set with desirable figures that may make them more then lots of different expensive sets.
  10. Oh by thing I meant the black thing behind your vignette on the table. However bringing the saucers together was a good choice!
  11. Don't give up yet. Check out the AT-ST modification thread and you'll see how with tweaking this model is fantastic. Height is an issue, that some of us are working on solutions for, but what it trades in height it makes up for with form.
  12. Not to speak for him but to my own knowledge currently the only method of obtaining black booted white legs is by erasing the mad scientists legs.
  13. Quad jumper is making it's way everywhere now. In the table top game X-Wing, the Quadjumper has become such an overpowered ship to the consternation of many. It's really strange coming from the X-Wing forums hearing them always complaining about the ship to here where now a lot of people are also upset. The quad jumper is a neat design and if it's not too expensive could be a fantastic ship. Will I buy it? Only if the minifigures are exceptional and the price is low.
  14. Wow I am extensively impressed by this. Wow! Does it have an interior? If not no matter, this is still an incredible MOC. Very nice alien design on the left with the ray gun.
  15. So fun fact, I think one of the best ways of scaling height for Star Wars vehicles is to use the rancor big fig. In the canon rancors supposedly are an average height of 5 meters. The AT-ST is 8.6 meters. Now I haven't measured the height variance between the bigfig and the model scientifically, I will and post here eventually. Now AT-STs between Hoth and Endor seem to have variance in height, perhaps they are capable of extending and retracting legs depending on terrain, so for the sake of easiness let us round the AT-ST model to 9 meters. That would mean that the AT-ST from it's base unmodified height should be slightly shorter then two rancor bigfigs. From what I can reckon with my eyes and loose measurement the legs need to be three studs shorter then they are for more accurate height. I could be wrong and it's two again I have to do some measurements.
  16. I can't compete with the awesome hardcore sci-fi others are reading but I just got finished with Heir to the Empire for the first time since I was a kid. I never read the other two Thrawn trilogy books but so far the first installment is fantastic!
  17. If you happen to be an Ashoka fan, apparently the audiobook of the new Ashoka book is voiced by Ashley Eckstein. SW audiobooks tend to be really good so that may be worth checking out. Hera's Heroes:
  18. I've finally gotten around to extensively modifying my chicken walker using several of the techniques shown on this thread, largely two pilots and lifting the eyes, as well as some of my own. The under chin of the gun, the saucers, are borrowed from Anothergol's model. My goal was to try and get the model closer to the screen model but also stay true to TLG's model. Some of my modifications: (Thinner neck, replacing dark blue grey with light blue grey for the most part, four railings around the hatch, changing the chassis, and rounded feet) More pictures:
  19. Melancholia....wow. That may be the single most depressing film ever made in the history of cinema. Excellently done, possibly one of the best films of this century in some regards but my oh my if you suffer depression especially from watching sad films I don't advise watching it.
  20. Gosh darn it I didnt want to buy the Y-Wing but that figure is gorgeous, perhaps one of the best alien designs TLG has ever made! If the other figures in the set are of this quality I will have no choice but to.
  21. Because have you seen the K'nex set? I'm sorry but that thing is an eyesore. There is no comparison between that and this, Lego's looks incredible and actually something I wouldn't mind guests seeing when visiting.
  22. Wow definitely a great and thorough background story! Welcome to the Rebellion!
  23. Wow that looks immediately recognizable, even before I saw the reference picture! You look like you have the Death Trooper's blaster on the table as well
  24. Oh no, I hope Moroff isnt molded with a massive backpack! i'm sure it would look cool but then we won't have a normal version of his species...ah well I guess that's how it must be.
  25. I don't know if it was posted here but someone asked Dave Filoni if X-Wings were ever going to appear on the show. He replied if they do it would be an awful lot like this scene from Empire of the Sun where P-51 Mustangs come out of nowhere and raid the Japanese Airfield Christian Bale's character is imprisoned at. Empire of the Sun P-51 Cadillac of the Skies! Now all I can think of is "X-Wings! Cadillac of the Stars!"
