in how far does that go for sails and rigging? I'd much rather do cloth sails for my ship than brickbuild ones as has become the costum in the pirate realm.

Sir Edwyn, good thing you're building for the wall project. Actually gate 37 is one gate with a (seperate tower) infront of it. Eventually its your descission though. As for the wall segments, just go ahead, I'm looking forward to your builds!! -
Lego Arcadia in times of Revolword chaos, awesome! Really love the two guys fishing, such a nice scene, sometimes I wish I was a minifig

good to see that your back in one piece! congrats Torgar! I'm going to the PaB wall in Wiesbaden tomorrow, I'm curious as to what they have, hopefully brown tiles and 1*2s ... -
Wow Gideon, this is definetely the best introduction I've seen so far!! As for which guild you should join, I'd hate to say it, but it sounds like Kaliphlin to me! And yes, most of us will stick around here, espcially since the History forum has become a mere LOTR forum and here we have a true community of real castle freaks!!

with the mitgardian colors in it you should have some mod move this to the GoH forum, so it can be counted as a freebuild. Anyway, nice little vig, really love those autumn trees. (BTW a good source of Mitgardian green arms are the toystory soldiers, rather cheap to be obtained these days)

but that's the point, brigdes, houses, boats, fences ... everything eats into the red brown bricks. Personally I think after the bleys, it's the third most important color for castle mocers! -

Welcome Sir Edwyn, it's good to have new builders in this guild, as there are only few people who last longer than three or four builds. Currently we Mitgardians are down to three who've hung around here since the beginning and only a hand full of those joining later are still around. So in short, new blood is always in want! And congratulations on joining the best guild! @Brickington: With three unfinished project sitting on my desk I'm so out of red brown. Kinda odd to hear that you could have too many! -

southern Mitgardia actually is a lot like Avalonia. Actually of all the Mocs I've made for Mitgardia, not even half of them contain snow! -

with Soccerkid and Ecclesiastes on vacation its definetely way too quiete here! Anyway, I'm currently waiting for some bricks to arrive so I can finally finish those three mocs sitting on my desk, a really sort of frustrating activity! -
that's what was about to suggest! Anyway, nice little vig there lg!
-
wow, those retractable walls are just totally nice. I also like your pumps, (what's Lenzpumpe in English?) such an important detail but I doubt I've ever seen it in a Lego ship before!
-
I really like this kai, especially the pictures taken in the dark! Great story too!

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the encouraging feedback @Frank: that helped a lot and I actually found a way to form the stern that now I'm pleased with: I also started some first basic rigging @Perfectionist: well, with you guys dominating the realm of the 18th and 19th century, DC being the master of the 16/17 th century, I decided I'd go for the 14/15th century . Not so many have build there yet! @CB: interesting information. I now put in the Mitgardian colors to make the ship more colorful as befits your suggestions. Here is a shot from a another perspective: Of course a lot of the things are still at a rather preliminary stage. But I'm waiting for more bricks to arrive. More updates soon!

when we had the walls of valholl we actually had a spin off challenge in which the two mocs tied had to do another moc, that was pretty cool too
-
thanks mate, what I was wondering is whether I should keep the triangular version of the stern or go for something more straight. Anyone an opinion on that?

hey man way to go, what a great castle. So many things to love about this: the water, the castle itself, the rockwork, all just totally nice. Can't wait for your third moc!!

@soccerkid: thanks man, I actually opened wip discussion with more pics over the pirates forum, as it is sort of in the threshold between the two forums:http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=79704#entry1523571 -
@fraunces: the lower deck contains hinges and supporting bricks. There actually isn't much room. @frank: yeah, it's becoming really round, I've just realized that btw, I made good progress today. I'm not 100% convinced yet, but its getting there:
