    WIP: Carrack

[pid][/pid] 149D Finished ship on page 2 [click image] Hey there, this is actually a project for the GoH forum, but as I would like some feedback from the ship building community, I'm starting the wip topic here. Anyway, I'm currently building a carrack from around the last third of the 15th century. I'm more or less relying on the revell Santa Maria model, despite the fact that it is not really clear whether the Santa Maria was actually a carrack or a nao. Anyway, here are some wip shots and it'd be cool if you could give me some constructive feedback:
  2. @soccerkid: looking extremely good. But I've been pretty buisy too, as the carpenters of Helgestorp are putting together a carrack in order to transport Varlyrian sell swords to Historica:
  3. Holy shit Legonardo, this is awesome and your gate is actually equal to the gate guild by Z, one of the greatest Lego Gates so far!!
  4. I really like all your statues. They all have this certain Ecclesiastes look. Hard to describe what I mean to say, but I really like it!
  5. I was wondering, is it a must to have a battle scene? I'm currently having tons of ideas for the story to tell, and already three mocs in the making. Two of them in Varlyrio and one half way between Varlyrio and Historica. But I'm not even half-way done telling the story with these three mocs. A battle scene though is far from even being thought of!
  6. if you look at page one you'll see that so far we've had several challanges for titles. The only difference is that in Mitgardia only one person may earn a title.
  7. Interesting idea, we acutally haven't had much manufacturing mocs in the GOH real. Time to focus more on the civilian side once the last challenge is through ...
  8. Buurli I really love this, such nice builds, so many details, just a lot of fun to watch and read. Great work!
  9. great work, besides all the other things mentioned, I really like how you created a rather realistic desert feeling! Cool stuff!
  10. Hey, this is looking much better! Great to see that you took in my considerations! As for the flower stems, I wouldn't put them evenly all over the place but more in 2 or 3 larger groups, especially around the bottom of the trees! And yes, with snot I meant sideways, but that's something for your next moc!
  11. that depends on what you'd like to build: castles and armies: urukay army, civilian buildings: cottage!
  12. First of all, great Idea. Nice trees a really cool spot to have a hot bath. Some suggestions: - Your water needs some more action! Either you snot your water or you use transparent white plates to create the illusion of moving water. Both techniques have their pros and cons. - I don't think that this is the problem. I think you should overlap you plates thus creating several height levels: grey close to the water (gravel, rock), one up a small band of brown (mud), one further up green (meadow) and you should add smaller vegetation such as flower stems, bushes and swamp plants etc.
  13. That is a really cool moc, great cave effect, nice water and I'm glad I'm not the only one who still struggles to photograph his buildings moc expert style
  14. actually he had a bit too much varlyrian beer @eccles: impressive!! As for beer, ain't nothing better than Augustiner from Munich, though Franziskaner is pretty good too! @sk: couldn't be Valholl as it doesn't fit the wall standard, I'd suspect that it is Cedrica @all: the food talk is part of our cross cultural exchange programm we are all going through here at EB!
  15. That's what I really like most about this whole GoH experience, you can see how everybody is progressing in their building skills. Just as this mocs proves to do so for Kai. So great job, man. I really like it a lot!!
  16. speaking of wip shots: man, how much I hate this camera ...
  17. yep, currently doing my indoor scene which is coming along rather nicely
  18. but hey, you don't even have a beer law, so how could you possibly have the best beers?
  19. you don't really want me to counter this list with a list of German beers, do you? As for the whole beer thing, beer, good food and mocing are just one thing, couldn't do without!
  20. Nice garden there Infernum, the waterfall does the job! @DM: we like gardens!
  21. It's a shame you never finished this project because it is a pretty darn good looking castle. But I really know how that goes, I too got several unfinished mocs sitting on my desk ...
  22. Good to see Nocturnus has come out of its hiatus, nice little Vig!
  23. I reall like you cottage, especially your roof is really cool. Next step, a larger house that can call itself an inn!
  24. Come on dude, going to Florida in February? It's all about spring break, admit it! Best cheese and chocolate - definetely Switzerland, I have to second that! Best beer in Belgium - are you kidding? I mean I like raspberries, but not in my beer!
  25. I know about your distaste because you acutally claimed so in the discussion about my moc. However, I think I didn't use more than 10 or so headlight bricks. Technic bricks with the pin also do the job.
