  1. Also I was just gonna mention, the Design By Me/Hero Factory promo (shown in the instructions in one of the other reviews) showed a black torso - there may well be a full selection of black and silver versions of these parts, so Stringer 2.0 could still theoretically exist as the poster child for custom HF sets. as in "Hey remember this guy? He was your fave. I bet you were wondering - why didn't he get an uprade? But oh wait check this out - he did, and you can get him right here! But why stop there? Make your own! Blah blah blah, blah blah blah!" Edit: oh also I'm sure we get a summer lineup in hero factory as well... Probably a whole new situation because "attack on the station" doesn't seem like a year long storyline and I'm just saying, chance for a stringer two-oh in there as well
  2. I think you're being too hard on the head but this is actually my top favorite among the villains, jetbug a close second
  3. I'm more excited about the art at the same link. Garmadon looks cool, and that's really the first time I've been able to see what he looks like at all. I know they're all just the art from the cards but dang, it's good looking stuff - and now I want a lego teapot for my sensai
  4. 'Sinner', repent of your terrible pun Looks like a great set to me, thanks for the review - but you failed to mention the ever-useful head-mounted buzzsaw. I mean, come on... EDIT: oh no, you did. 'repetition of the arms'. sorry, nevermind
  5. It seems we've stumbled upon some new favorite parts for space builders everywhere that orange body armor is off the chain.
  6. Found my set of 16 in New Orleans. I'll see y'all for series 4. and yeah, the dots aren't a very clean identifier, but they're a start.
  7. the heroes that are on top of my list are Surge (and I'll be salvaging weapons and armor off last year's model to combine) and Breez, but as this one is my school colors I'm obligated to buy it - and I don't mind in the slightest geaux tigers these sets are great. the helmet attachment solution really surprised me but I like it. I like the different textures across the head, I like the opacity of the head. and I am thrilled about the expensive soft plastic
  8. Found something really cool tonight when I went to buy myself a full set of series 3 minifigs TRU's in the US have a little Ninjago promo event on December 11th. This is the loot: Which incidentally also means that Ninjago will probably be in store by then (unless they only have one demonstration copy of the Starter Kit, but come on. the point of the event is "try it, buy it")
  9. Yeah my 1 USD is in transit to your pocket and I'll go get to review writing on the app store and just a note, I love the interface, I love the whoosh when changing views, and I love the brick turning (though I could stand something where you don't have to turn it quite so far, maybe just a more sensitive 'flick' in the direction) for me lack of SNOT doesn't matter as much as inability to attach bricks to the underside of things... (I'd like to see a way to flick to another view once in the view from the top, like a view from the side, so you can pull out bricks. or something) and is there a way to color what's already in place?
  10. these sets are gorgeous. I'm wondering about the head piece though, how accurate the big bubble eyes and beaming grins on the renders are. also, that sure looks like an illegal connection on Surge's lower leg armor The orange chap's headgear is a riot, with a head mounted buzzsaw and a little H shaped pack on the other side. all the little helmet attachments are stuffed with fun and wacky details
  11. Cutty you sent me on a crusade to find a post I made back here. enjoy.
  12. Well that's really all I meant, I was just steering around using the "Ch word" but yes, regardless of the reason (which is what Aanchir just said ) I'd bet heavily you'll find far better looking katana in the Ninjago sets. Whether or not it matters enough to influence your economic decisions will vary from person to person
  13. yeah but it's a really weak looking gold. compare it to, say, an atlantis trident or the new pharaoh's quest staff, and it just doesn't hold up - I only realized this because I was comparing my cobra staff to the new staff. they still compliment each other well in design but the difference in color really, really stands out. On another note, check out the great robes on the dragon rider
  14. Hawt megablox - it looks like the army helmet is a go after all - you seeing this, Peppermint M?
  15. 5980 Squidman's Pitstop and the other sets I was referring to are 5979 Max Security Transport and 7713 Bridge Walker and White Lightning
  16. Don't put your son in a trivia quiz against my 5 yr old goddaughter (she's been watching the Chamber of Secrets film every day for the last couple weeks) Just a tiny detail, but the batarang as a cast iron wind vane is a great usage.
  17. Louisiana's still waiting too... been to TRU every day of the week except thursday and friday. Bought the $10 offerings of the new Pharaoh's Quest, Atlantis, and City police while waiting - Slowly but surely running down my budget
  18. I like that they've replaced the transparent armor plates with a molten rock print armor plate
  19. Brickset still has it listed - set 2519 It's probably just a 'limited edition' style set... kind of the extra surprise set of the line - like the body shop and prisoner transport truck in SP3, or that big headed walker in Exo-Force Yeah, but I think the original purpose of those 'stiff' arms was to do a variation on the battle droid arms, so they could hold a weapon correctly. They just got recycled in the Castle skeleton warriors because it was already in production and pretty multi-use.
  20. OK, thanks for confirming that
  21. yeah that may definitely make it worth getting for me. I couldn't tell there were ball sockets in this set until the review (btw thanks for the great review, Hinkley) side note - LDD factory mode shows the new sockets but i don't trust that they won't mix in the old till they've run out, and I don't need any more that are gonna crack on me in the first week of use
  22. I like it. It has character and really does remind me of cabin camping, which i do annually. Still think they're trying to beat "Lincoln" at his own game (lincoln logs have a loggier flavor, but in details other than that, forget it. limited possibilities and no stability... yeah lego wins)
