  1. Well it's really just long beard coming off the chin and 2 sides of a long moustache. What I like about it is you can pair it with virtually any headgear that doesn't have a chin
  2. I'm not ready to take a side but I just wanna say, as a lucky owner, that set at the top is killer. It is more peewee's playhouse than anything, but it is stuffed with fun. which is my favorite thing about it unapologetic tacky awesomeness.
  3. I approve if you're ripping on doctor who, but stay off my Bill and Ted Hey I wanna build one of those little bricky polar bears
  4. 'Scuse me, Professor Alienwar, may I faint now? What a model. And of my absolute favorite kind of thing to boot.
  5. Wow I don't know how i didn't notice that but you're right, it's a completely different part. No middle shoulder ball joints Edit: By the way, they did vary it on the others. Nex has the same torso
  6. Vexorian, I could smack you for making me spend more countless hours on that ridiculous tvtropes
  7. I agree on "the new looks are great" BUT They had a couple options with Ashoka here: Don't do the cutout Model some cleavage I don't care which and I know star wars is a family thing and the character modelers are too chaste to go near the womanly contours but seriously, one or the other. one solid mass directly under the fabric? as if it was a ripped away piece of orange peel? I just find it disturbing for some reason.
  8. So are there no new episodes until the Savage Opress episodes in... january? is the regular airdate? (I'm not gonna venture out of town to a theater for the early showing) Nothing between Pursuit of Peace and that upcoming arc? does anyone know?
  9. OK I can't work it out - what is tfw?
  10. you know I almost did when I was in TRU on the lego aisle - bright eyed kid runs up to the atlantis display "that's what I want for christmas: Legos!" the mom walks by and dryly/sarcastically/maliciously says "oh great, more stuff for me to step on" my jaw dropped in disbelief as I think "that poor little guy. that cranky ol grinch of a mom" the dad says "no no buddy, what you want is transformers" and they all walk off. it's a hilarious story but what kinda parents deprive a kid of lego? I felt pretty sure it's meant to be a printed tile when I saw it. That's part of why I got all excited about it and posted it in the Ninjago topic (credit to me. ) "Event intended for children..." Yes I noticed that, and by all means, get 'em on the technicality. You can't send somebody in your place? (good luck on finals btw. everybody around here is finishing them this week)
  11. impossible on the first one at least. compare it to technic motorcycles, even creator motorcycles. now remember it's a theme set with two premium quality figures. More likely $20, or $15 is as much as I can hope for (like the atlantis trike -that's possible) and I dunno I guess and hope turbo shredder is $30 but I'd think again, 5 to 10 dollars higher from the substance of the set and current pricing on comparable sets. $30's still believable though
  12. huh. I have all three of those - I'm gonna have to try that out
  13. But there have been lines that advertised videogames and nothing came of, I think mars mission was one, then the closest thing was "LEGO Battles" which by all accounts is a throwaway. So, if I may put it mildly, expect absolutely nothing.
  14. Can I still put a request back in for them?
  15. this kicks serious butt. Printed viking shield, new hats and hairs, wolfish elf recolor, geisha's fan, hazmat suit and hazmat guy's accesory, flask, gnome hat.. sensory overload. and i don't even mind all the repeat figs also i wonder if dr inferno hair is gonna get the solid plastic treatment..
  16. I'd assume it's "Spring 2011", with the Hero Factory/Design By Me "Recon" thing. So, is there a reason the "Minifigures" parts hadn't been added back in? Are they some of the parts that we're just not permitted to get? We know that at least the first series parts are modeled... Are there other parts you've heard are in place that we should know about? And are they replacing any more parts with flexible versions?
  17. On this note, booooo giant buzz lightyear head, booooo.
  18. Sounds like you've been turned Much rejoicing is in order. and the Time-whatever they weres, yeah - I remember getting the mountain base kinda thing on clearance a few years after the theme came out. One heck of a fun set. I also had the Twisters vehicle with the clear blue barrel of junk, pop up and down skeleton top hat heads, and a bathtub base. Trippy stuff.
  19. So are the remaining sets floating around with eurobricks bigshots somewhere, waiting for review?
  20. Aaaaaaaaaand she got herself an elven archer. I was wrong.
  21. I forgot to say, so I bought my 16 figures, and my mom had ridden with me so she tried to get a few figures my little brother and sisters wanted (they wanted 4 to 5 each). Then we got a couple more to round out the number (buy one get one half off sale). We got out to the car and sliced the packs open with first aid kit scissors to make sure we hadn't grievously misidentified, but just on the ones I had bought (as it turned out we had a lot more hula girls than we thought ) Anyway, when we got home we ended up having all the right things but somehow overlooked the rapper my brother wanted. My mom was inventorying her extras and an extra we accidentally got was the blacktron cyborg. Being a lifelong star trek fan she geeked out: "Oh COOOOOOOL! I'm keeping the borg!" I think that's Mom's first minifig. Can I get an "Aaaawwwwwww"? (I'm calling it, her second is going to be Jack Sparrow )
  22. well inverted slopes are at the top of what I'd like
  23. ah see it took me until now to realize that. well that's cool. I thought all that armor was gonna be askew all the time. silly me
  24. See I was afraid that was gonna happen. I had made a comment in the cursed cobra statue review about the brick version of the socket: To which Front replied: Looks like you might have to be very surprised, Front. EDIT: no I'm just kidding, and it's not the same thing, so I can't say 'told you so' - which is a jackass move anyway. everybody knows official sets can have alternate parts - for example, a city fire helicopter 4900 I just got at target (it's a 2008 set originally) has apparently gotten a silent update to part 92842 from part 4617. the instructions haven't changed, the set number hasn't changed, but it's been substituted. EDIT EDIT: But seriously Front, please don't be offended. I felt like I'd irritated you the first time around and that wasn't my intention. I feel like I need to pass you the peace pipe
  25. More likely those of us who would hate it know that and will simply ignore it's existence. I know the track record for straight to DVD movies. I can't spend any time or energy watching, hating, or even acknowledging them. I love your mexican village stuff, and you're right, side by side the training center looks like it's totally ripping you off
