  1. awwww superkalle you made me think this was a LDD4 release announcement for a second
  2. Priceless. Wild to see the classic lego oar, helmets, and dragon arms in conjunction with all that technic-bionicle. I approve heartily
  3. Lovin' the pumpkin warriors, and you're right about new hermione Lego can never get aragog right, but they've done some pretty terrific spider designs that they should just adapt to his role. take the wild collection spider
  4. So OK, this was my theory, and looking back I'd say you're right, there's really a torso back there - but i was just thinking that since the arms and legs have come so far from an "all-in-one" design, maybe the torso has too. So I thought from a glance it was parts like these, plus a couple connectors: assembled like this: and giving the illusion of a "proper torso" when viewed from the front: anyway it was just my theory. but yeah looking at the shoulder pads on the villains, it's nowhere near the solidness it would need to be for a structural element, so yeah there's a torso back there.
  5. Hang on, I'm gonna do a mockup and show ya.
  6. There's still the summer rotation. That's not taken into account by the leaked retailers catalog, just the winter and spring '11 sets
  7. I kinda think it's not two pieces of armor on a torso, but one piece of armor on a jointless torso, that black joint parts are then connected to - like the glatorian neck beams, except a shoulders beam and a hips beam. Just a possibility. It would kinda fit with the other new joint parts - since we get long and short socket to ball beams, maybe we get long and short ball to ball beams as well.
  8. Yes - I love the style and detail of bionicle, but this is about what I've been waiting for since the announcement of bionicle's end was made. I believe the press release made some comment like "replaced with a more versatile line" However... hmm. ok, here's the thing. bionicle was a step away from system compatibility (connect bionicle to technic, connect technic to system). now it almost looks like you need bionicle to connect HF to technic. also, as far as simpler than bionicle - so was znap
  9. *oh2* *oh2* Anybody see the new dog and crowbar in the city sets?? sorry to be off topic. Those would supplement the adventurers just fine though.
  10. Ultra-Specialized? The way I see it, the pieces are more versatile than many, many we've had recently. as for the shared... yeah. it'd be nice to have more parts. I think it's a tradeoff: they decided to reinvent the core parts of the system, and had less of a budget for individuality. I'm happy getting that for one wave though. It's a total refresh. and the parts are definitely compatible with bionicle, technic.. heck, all other lego with a bit of adapting. And that's what i like about fire lord too. New parts
  11. yeah i've been converted. I want them all.
  12. Has anyone contacted the LDD team recently for a new release date estimate?
  13. ah sí, gotcha. I know those lil guys as bars, but ok. thought he was talking about the axle holes on the weapons replacing pin holes on weapons. didn't read it well enough. don't forget 'excellent'
  14. probably nitpicking, but I think "axle" and "rod" refer to the same thing. The lil round guys whose absence you lament are Pins
  15. That cracked me up. "no boots, no loincloth: no service!"
  16. After two pics I was hoping that was the case but still couldn't tell if it was a tail in the back or stuck to the arms - awesome.
  17. I dunno, Shine. They aren't fully rendered, but there's certainly the possibility that the heads won't be translucent (I always thought it was a shame that the whole detailed head was a translucent piece). Furno and Nex each have translucent lightsaber blades that are rendered as translucent, and Evo and Breez each have spikes that match their heads, and I'm sure those will be opaque... Also the heads are a new mold - glatorian-esque in connection, sure, but not glatorian. Look at the chin. Silliness. The authenticity isn't being debated - these are from the same retailer catalog as the rest of the sets being discussed around the site. Final or prototype, sure, up for debate. if you think it's a lazy modeling, it could well be unfinished, but it's not 'fake'.
  18. That is a plus indeed wait a minute... are you fishing for praise for your own work? I am glad that each piece seems much much more multiuse - even though I'm not a fan of the overall look of the models. The slate is blanker, the possibilities are higher! by the way - lazy spears, spikes, hands, lightsaber bar. 4 molds.
  19. Just a comment on the crab claw: I bought the newest Krusty Krab just for the novelty of having Spongebob, and I was mildly irked that Mr. Krabs still had standard minifigure hands - now I can update the little guy like he deserves (oh but it'll be a problem when he cant hold his money ) Also I suspect that piece was developed just as much for POTC's Davy Jones as it was for Atlantis  One more thing, looks like it would make an amazing eagle/griffin head with printing - it doesn't look enough like a crab claw to be planned for use solely as a crab claw.
  20. Well otherwise they would be pretty useless. Even the presence of magnets would ruin the piece entirely. There certainly is, look at them again. It's a triangle where each edge is a handle (with a conical spike protruding from one end) Not all of them - the figures sold in the tops seem to have nicely detailed, non-logo torsos.
  21. They do have separate set numbers - ergo it shouldn't be a blind pick, if that's what you're worried about.
  22. Could the booted skeleton legs possibly be 2 part? with the bone piece being a little bar and clip? Also the colors are much more conservative than everyone was afraid of. I only count blue red white and black. You people got my hopes up for neon ninjas In one picture they are. In another, they're a new piece: the one holding the gleaming gold atlantis tooth. As nunchucks . (i think.. in any case, that's a new piece on the scythe-y thing.)
  23. aw those tops aren't offensive at all. and the theme looks quite decent imo EDIT: ok the dragon head is very bad. other than that, it's all ok by me
  24. I've alway thought ninjas are tired and overrated, so I actually had no interest in this theme until I saw the big bike. that might just elevate it to "epic fantasy" level. Scantily clad warriors! Dinosaurs! Bikers! Skeletons! Magic robots!- and other staples of rock album covers. a kinda "no way" theme I'd be happy to have - and this might come close enough to appease me That's ridiculous. Were there not picture proof, I'd say "that isn't even a thing" A complete unknown which has no actual similarities to the lego product. So it's a battle top: there are plenty of battle tops. Lego knows mega bloks never merits an "answer". and I think the idea of a battle top encasing a human fighter to convey spinning around Tazmanian Devil style is a terrible idea that LEGO deserves credit for. and maybe not the worst gimmick we've run into in lego sets - as long as the figs can't be damaged during play Beyblades are amazing. My heart soared the other day when I found out they're still in production (via a tv commercial) I gotta see these sets now to see how much i love/hate them. pictures of the other themes are out, I wanna see these
