  1. Alright then. Sadly this is only barebones partial rules because the other boards have different heroes and some kinda additional weapons and riches (come to think of it, I'm sure it must just be collect the riches off the board and buy a weapon, which is then a failsafe against poor rolling), but nothing to guess on the shared basics I guess. 1 2 3 Actually, while playing it the first time against my 6 yr old goddaughter, I did realize that there's a good bit of ambiguity - finally concluded that move and battle happen in the same turn, so not p1 move to monster p2 turn p1 single roll attack p2 turn but p1 move to monster and attack to the death p2 turn p1 move to monster and attack once if no damage is taken on hero, attack again/attack other adjacent monster, if actions do not apply, end turn. if damage is taken end turn p2 turn (the 'fighting chance' angle for p2 trying to fight same monster) and I really only figured that because it talks about fighting every enemy you're next to in one turn. but the big thing I'm left with is: May I jump past the battle if the other player is locked in defeat (I have to assume yes) and how do I get next to the boss to fight him if that's where the other player is stalled? do I push the player aside? stand on his head? do I need to do the same for those other little battles? that said it is of course a lego game and they encourage you to change it up all you want... it's just unprofessional that they wouldn't tackle these situations easily found on the first playthrough, make a game for little kids so confusing. I can imagine plenty of little frustrated kids over it. Edit: the end your move and fight thing is obvious now. I was erroneously equating "move" with "turn". still wondering on the defeated player occupying the space - maybe you move them back to start to heal. fight to the death, move to start to heal. yeah, that's gotta be it... Edit Edit: somebody tell me if I'm missing something that's right under my nose...
  2. Got 3857 Heroica: Draida at my toys r us today. Everybody think I'm safe to scan up and post the rules without any sort of flickr account deletion by lego hitmen? proof in bag: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5150/5737490287_d765d49782_m.jpg lego hitman: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2786/5737490283_097b1835cd_m.jpg
  3. If I'm cleared for hosting I'd be willing to do it. thursday afternoon my semester is over, so I ought to have sufficient free time. but I definitely want to participate too.. sad to see nobody else picking western or japanese town also, I know it's always vile to bring up one's favorite obscure intellectual properties, but just a thought, and it could be made generic enough: something like a generic All-World of Stephen King's Dark Tower series: It's post-apocalyptic, but it's post apocalyptic by thousands of years. Civilization has restarted, to a world with an order of cowboy knights, living spartanly in ruins of an arthurian castle, with down-to-modern-earth commoners out in western style towns (complete with saloons), deserts, forests, shores, mutant animals, stonehenge-y stuff hangin around; BUT smattered with run-down mysterious traces of the modern and futuristic: abandoned subways crawling with mutants, oil derricks, evil AI monorails, robots, new york ruins, 80ft biomechanical animals guarding portals to other worlds, wrecked planes, outposts full of computers, invisibility jackets, ATVs and war machines yeah, it's a little out there. guess that'll just have to turn into a personal project. but just as an alternative to the played-out left4dead post-apoc, a richer, captivating post-apoc experience that's a blend of lots of the other stuff. And another thought: everybody talks about upscaling the heroica boardgame theme (as in "What I want to see is minifig scale manifestations of this"). we could make that happen with a community build. one more: a space twist on a non-space theme? for example, here are my WIP dabblings in spaced up fright knights/wolf pack: My link And please don't think that because I have crazy suggestions I can't be a contented cooperative team player with whatever everyone wants
  4. Shame on me for not voting, but hooray for my two faves getting first and second. you guys earned your bricks.
  5. RawJaw Witchdoctor Bulk Stringer Nex. Possibly extras of any of those.
  6. I was thinking about that the other day, there was talk about it one day and then it seemed like it totally fell away Glad I wasn't just imagining it happened, because i'm really really curious and I think even as a macho man I'm going to be suckered in Edit: aaaaaah! I just looked at the colors
  7. My favorite detail on this has got to be the hot rod grille. this theme gets a lot of hilarity points
  8. Not order-able, though. You need to set yourself up with extended mode, which is pretty much universe mode with even more parts. link
  9. haha, in fact it's the exact same pic I took with my awful little ipod camera.
  10. There's a cool illustrated poster for heroica in the new lego magazine. also there should be a video here but it's not up yet. also, LDD recreations: (I'm shaky on the official layout of Waldurk and I may have the wrong one. there are high-res pics of it out of box like it looks here, but the box design itself has another - it's just a rearrangement though) heroica.lxf building it helps ya piece together the gameplay. kinda. also there's this template of sorts all the sets follow - so custom heroica boards can become a crazy new form of MOC. Tributes to other epic quests...
  11. Yeah, sadly I can't answer, I can only second your puzzlement. I thought for sure it'd be something self evident in the preferences menu or file but it's still stumping me. though come to think of it, I have a laptop and a desktop and the desktop still gives me the clear ones. I should probably go compare the settings...
  12. That is too damn cool, I never would have suspected. now I can make a whole colony of people with obscenely bulgy brains. and I too am happy about the li'l syringies. oh and the blue camo stickers are cool. and the glorious mustache.
  13. My top musicians: Sax player. Marching band Sousaphonist and Drummer. Elvis impersonator also, and I know most of these have been detailed by more committed people than me : Banana suit man swiss barmaid lederhosen-clad mustache and lager enthusiast female welder Opera singer (Brünnhilde) Venus de Milo (with broken arms and a chisel) ballerina powdered-wigged judge generic captain ahab generic james bond with conspicuous 'gadget' anyone who's an excuse for more disco hair
  14. Hey, is the tip of the double barrel spaced the same as the binoculars? And can we see the figures with a uniform swap?
  15. I do wanna see the toy story lanky body parts show up again... maybe they can redo the basketball line and make a yao ming
  16. Nah I've never ever heard of little artists, I was talking about the original work by Koons
  17. So this has no bearing on anything, but has anyone looked at the Shop at Home page for the fountain of youth set? The last picture is odd. disembodied arms giving a toast
  18. Aaaaaaahh! My first sets ever! oh nostalgia...
  19. Whoa whoa, everybody take a step back from Dr. Who for a second Time cruisers maybe? Time twisters?
  20. Haha I'm glad I helped one of the greats
  21. Who else clicks control+1+3 as soon as a model loads? It's such a handy shortcut.
  22. haha, glad I clicked on this Recognized the work immediately, glad you got your solution
  23. I had thought the same as you and only realized what he wanted right before i posted my solution, which incidentally... Was better than yours Mr. Convuluted But yeah, nicholas, either do it like brickdoctor said or just put a brick in the middle of there, connect and delete: Smaller range of viewing angles for connecting but all in all you have less steps. Bonus: "exploded assembly view" (lifted out to display nesting function):
  24. pulled it out of design by me to copy, pasted in the extended file
