LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
SpiderSpaceman replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
Two Face: maybe I don't see it like I should because I already have my original figure, but I think his suit (I have seen and saved the pictures) is supposed to be navy blue and burnt orange. Both are perfectly acceptable freakin suit colors! they're not trying to go all neon on him, folks. have a little faith, I think it makes sense. I agree that fuzzy little pic doesn't look so great but I'm tired of you all hollering "colorful colors!" - I can't imagine that that is the case, and neither should you. cheese sauce cripes. -
I think that's just part of that torso I am impressed at all the printable surface area on there though

The Underwater Version Contest Voting
SpiderSpaceman replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
11. Thor Lund's Subvan Campicus SXF 2000 - 5 points -
And see, I ran across this the first time right smacking' before it went global - some guy was saying "please vote for me so lego will make this" and I just thought "poor gullible starry-eyed bloke, that doesn't happen" (And I'd seen the Shinkai but I guess I hadn't paid attention to it's origins) Anyway, enjoying my humble pie. Who's up for modernized space theme recreations?
-
I kinda bumped into a representative stocking up TRU for bricktober and it's definitely one of two themes that get officially released before new year's, but I don't remember which month. the other was "Big Bang" which had no logo and I'm sure is just codename placeholdery for Superheroes or something

SpiderSpaceman replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
SpiderSpaceman replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
alright, so I don't get the channel and I'm gonna save my money this time around, not buy the season pass on itunes - what day do the episodes get to the star wars website? -
yeah some of these heads are going straight to the pay it forward free parts topic
-
yeah hulk doesn't have fingers yet either, you can see that he's exactly the same prototype from comic con, with the head an' all. I do wish he was lantern green, and if they were gonna do that they wouldn't have painted the brand new parts lime. still hopeful for purple pants and beefier legs though The bionicle chains are back full force in the hero factory hand cuffs! whether or not official lobo happens, this gets us that much closer

Any chance the Hulk chest is covered by that yes? I'd think that gets some pretty titan-ic bone coverage.

What IS LDD
SpiderSpaceman replied to Lalror's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Well LDD is a powerful hallucinogen. everybody knows tha... oh, LDD? neeeeeeevermind. I really started using the program right before 1.3, so I was originally using "all bricks, any color", as well as the designer set palettes. As I had a terrific little selection of the designer sets, I'd use that to save things I'd built so I could start anew, or start digitally to see if I could build something worth taking my other models apart for. then for a looong time it was generally a bummer due to the no selection of parts wide enough within a color. but now the glory's back with Extended, so yeah. same stuff. saving real models so I can free up real bricks, making things I'd have no hope of making physically, planning for sure. Also, most of my good ideas tend to come hands-on, but swapping back and forth from program to plastic lets me make revisions where I'd otherwise hit a dead end, so I can build a much more satisfying model -
Hi folks, There's a thought I've come across a few times and though I don't have anything to apply it to now, I think it might be cool to have a thread around to check. Long and short of it: There's an ever growing number of sets that are really collections of potential smaller sets, and sometimes you just don't want the extra baggage. For instance, a popular current sentiment is that with these mixed up good vs. bad sets, you can end up not getting a good deal if you don't want the aesthetic of one side. And some times people just like architecture, or scenery, or vehicles, or arrays of loose props, and often you have to get it all mixed together Let's talk about Dragons and Helicopters. Some people wanna collect all the dragons, but lament the 'garish garbage' that is skeleton vehicles. Others are skellie vehicle completists (Dead bikers representin'!) but really can't bring themselves to justify getting that big set for the fraction that's what they're after. So! I propose we list the partial sets we want and see if anyone is willing to chip in. Then you pick it up, break it up, and ship it out. Other Examples of Easily Splittable Sets: And we could possibly start databasing when we decide what the fair price splits are. Anybody care to "beat the system" today?

Obsessive Minifigure Buying Disorder
SpiderSpaceman replied to 22kane's topic in Special LEGO Themes
As I went into a mild panic when I realized I got all but the (pie) clown a minute ago, I'd say yeeeeaaah. OMBD for sure - but while waiting for this series and checking I was in a bad full sized set Buying Disorder So my wallet welcomes OMBD. (no regrets of course ) -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
SpiderSpaceman replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Oh no no no, jeez - I meant check after the purchase but before you go all the way back home. check in the parking lot and walk back into the store if necessary so you don't have to make a second trip. I originally said "scissors in your car" but edited remembering that the take-your-car-everywhere phenomenon isn't the custom in all regions. in fewer words, I just meant 'check before you go home' -

not hard at all by feel (never use bumps)- the only difficulties come when you've got a series with figures with no accessories/hair (like the mexican wrestler) or similar accessories, like clown hair/pompoms, telescope/flask, and maraca/microphone (all still easy to discern, just a temporary throw off). the guy above me says it all on the topic of double checking. have scissors with you so you can peek and just walk back through the store if you do make a mistake. I made one with series one (that undetectable mexican wrestler) but it's been 100% accurate onwards -

Sorry to interrupt: How long has 55300 "closed firm key" had a connection point up in the hex hole? Glad to have that fixed. -

but why do a slope anymore anyway? I think I'd rather see a molded part, attaching like the mermaid tails and tentacles, with a light ripple to it, hitting the ground with a subtle stud wrapping contour (akin to the glowing castle ghost shroud) -
Thank you. Peppermint M, look, nothing personal, I love being a member of this site, and I don't wanna get in bad standing with the mods. BUT: I think I can tell you that's outta line, because you're my peer, and it is. There's no reason the mention of a alternate, just as legitimate version of a TOY should make you say something like that about fellow human beings. Come on, global village here, play nice. I think the rugrats would be shocked. eh, looks like you already tackled it. no worries. Both comments were ugly, and I don't think "passive" is the right word. It was a negative stereotype against Americans; We the People are not some barbarian culture that truly promotes violence. But you're absolutely right. there is a difference between talking about glorifying imaginary violence and talking about actual violence. And people need to be sensitive to real rising violence anywhere. Though I don't think he actually ever mentioned recent senseless attacks but just that it's not a uniquely American problem, but a world problem. Just a pointing out of failing to follow the timeless advice of the one without fault throwing the first stone. Finally, on topic That's what I'm thinking. The dino 2010/attack dinos were not in any way decent. I'm ok with special molds if they're just spicing up lots of good widely useful parts. I'm not ok with multilayered, glued and bolted, overshaped, underconnectible, galidor-esque junk.

Yeah, but the comics companies play dirty against one another nowatimes. Really dirty. Like Marvel giving comic shops exclusive issues for shredding a number of DC books. And Oky, I hadn't considered any other possibilities... Should I not think it does?
