  1. Do we think Scooby's head can be interchanged with minifigure heads? It's at least turnable because I've seen it looking over the raised leg and away from the raised leg.
  2. Well it's in the Exo-Force set Supernova (among other 1st wave Exo-Force sets with the green haired guy) Edit: so, this
  3. Thanks j2g! This might be my favorite lego set of the year. I mean there are amazing big sets and all but personally, this is where it's at. I thought of it as more of a 6248 remake. Same scale, same skull. No spring loaded skeleton jumping volcano but it's definitely the strongest of all three sets. I mean.. I like the others too, a lot. And probably 6279 better as a concept, but this one is executed flawlessly. The perfect $20 set, has my favorite figure of the theme, and one of those new gator/crocs... Dang I haven't posted in pirates in forever.
  4. This is a good point, they should have done the black headband. I've been too concerned with a quality issue (face printed too low trying to decide if I want to buy again to get one that looks better. Somehow I always tear into the packaging of things without checking for flaws) on mine to really think about design improvements.
  5. Bummer I thought the Bizarro pack was supposed to get us Guy and Darkseid Ah well, Bizzaros are good.
  6. I don't know that they're gonna blend in that much from outside what is already fully realized in the marvel cinematic universe. I mean the film cast for everything (even if they don't portray story from every film, I'm sure they'll fill up on characters from them) rivals any of the other film series based Lego game, and will have a nice style of belonging in the same universe. I don't think Tt wants to handle cinematic redesign of anybody when real redesigns are gonna come up and embarrass their efforts... then again, skipping the popularly-demanded captain marvel and black panther might cause an uproar, and their comics costumes are modernly detailed enough to hold their own alongside movie costumes... I dunno. But I don't think the Spiderman content is likely. So lets see, Disney's officially using, but hasn't publicized designs for: Captain Marvel Black Panther Doctor Strange Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Jessica Jones Black Bolt, Medusa, Etc (assumed on particular characters, but Inhumans) and some associated characters (Kingpin definitely showed up in the Daredevil teaser this morning) Has rights to but hasn't opted to use yet (at least that we know of): Ghost Rider Punisher Blade Elektra She-Hulk unseen associated villains/allies/supporting cast for any current avengers endless others Actual high profile marvel characters who have shown up only in Agents of Shield: Victoria Hand (playable character status in lego games always makes me feel better about untimely demises) Okay wait here's an aside: It goes without saying, but I'm pausing to re-appreciate just how much joy is in playing Lego Star Wars (and subsequently other Lego movie-series-based games) freeplay! Playing people who've kicked it or have no business in the time or place they're in feels so good! Playing as any character you encounter - what? How is it possible? It's still too good to be true! #BooooNeverJabba Deathlok More characters I really like on the show but can't speak for their comics presence. Oh my God! What if we get another amazing synergy moment like throwing a bonus Indiana Jones into Lego Star Wars and they give us... A preview Star Wars VII character or two to play with in free play! Think about it! Huge property for Disney, Lego, and Travellers Tales, and it's a bit premature for content to populate a fresh Lego Star Wars entry on its own. And the character abilities are always already built into the gameplay, just called different names.
  7. Anybody else waiting on pictures of official mixes/murps for series 4? I imagine they're still bothering to do that for the 2015 series?
  8. Whoa Berp is a Mr. Mouth!
  9. Me too on preferring a comic-inspired sequel to a new, exclusionary direct film adaptation. I was already bummed out enough from the exclusion of Nightcrawler and Rogue last time. C'mon. And like Oky just said, the first on was overly derivative of The Avengers/Avengers Assemble to begin with. Shield/Loki/shawarma being uncreatively center stage. Coulson's high presence gets a pass because he's really Clark Gregg, has a colossal gun, and plays in the best Deadpool level. I'm not saying the game didn't succeed in being fun and eventually allowing the world of the comics to dominate (which is what we're losing now), but mainly that Joss Whedon made an absurdist gag out of superheroes getting Mediterranean food, but that does not need to be referred back to like it's now a representative part of Marvel. It's like that thing in the last year where every blog post about Lego had "____ is awesome!" as the title. This is what I'm expecting too. Two movies is too little but doing two multi-level Avengers movies along with abbreviated Phase 1 and Phase 2 groupings with a level per movie sounds like the ideal way to represent the series. And here's the reason I'm getting the game. (it'll be okay, wallet) Oh no i just realized we're gonna get a loop of the lame Pinocchio reference tune they're so damn proud of crammed down our ears as we get blasted apart in the final battle. On the flip side if actual Pinocchio gets a cameo from that, that would be a clever jab. I'd nosefight.
  10. So as the first dip into uncharted territory (branching off of the familiar elements of champions, villagers, predatory beasts, and tiny face hijackers), it could be more solid I think but I like them alright. I don't understand why anyone expected any extra connections on the bones. They are arguably only appropriate to stylistically depict bones, barring some out of the box thinking. Seemed pretty obvious to me. If Skull Basher had a face with more bulk that fit snugly up to the horns, I'd be way into it. As is, it does not, in my opinion, fit the concept well at all. And in general I would have much rathered no face repeats. I do like this and I figured it'd happen at some point. The gearbox in the configurations seen obviously shouldn't be the end-all same function in every set forever. The Rahkshi got a side swing, the Knights Kingdom figures all got varied attacks after the first wave of them - of course locked in to the one piece bodies, which is bogus, but the point is figures with different attacks interact well. The LoSS actually kept me from fearing that action features would stagnate in upright figures. I'd been playing around with designs for a Bionicle I inspired/compatible 3D printing project during fall 2013 up to the discovery of actual official Bionicle (and temporarily abandoned due to a rough patch for my imagination) but I intended different technic functions for each figure in a single wave. I'm happy to see Lego basically doing that. Oh hey, a Haiku! No one appreciates this? Here ya go, buddy. Just makes me think of flicking off somebody's baseball cap. Absurd advantage to the toa.
  11. Nether Fortress is gonna be the first and maybe only Minecraft set I get (beyond the initial microworld). If they do a swamp I'll get that too. I dunno. I may reevaluate the others. Nether Fortress is one of my favorite parts of the game when you can actually find one.
  12. Oh my god I hope this is true. And that it leads to the super heroes returning to fill out the ranks of the Justice League, and some Marvel mutants and supers. And Doc Ock. But on topic, those prices seem high. Maybe even though it says "like the marvel ones," that's just a bad interpretation and they really are more statue than action figure? Don't wanna get my hopes up, but that Cuusoo project TheDesuComplex mentioned did look exactly like what I'd want this to be. Like I said about the prices though, are they gonna be including some much more enormous figures? Durge? Or come like premium figures with a mount or a turret? Or something completely uncalled for? It's the last one, isn't it? It's the last one. Ok, Lego. I'll take your delicious pieces.
  13. MonkeyChud & TheDesuComplex: I think they're the armor add-on that's already shown there. With the jagged edges coming up from skull grinder's shins. Doesn't have the flow I hoped for from from hearing it called clothlike (though I never expected anything but a hard piece) but I'll reserve judgement for a better resolution view. But it really looks more jagged than ragged like the shoddy armor on the moria orcs in Peter Jackson's Fellowship of the Ring. I do wish we could have that Thok color that got discontinued too. Whoops. That's what happens when I don't refresh the page for 30 minutes.
  14. Yeah! Lots of variety. Space Police III spike, Atlantis tooth, Chima odd hollow horn, Lone ranger longhorn. We also got a lot of flame(/electricity/energy burst) parts, which this could also be categorized under.
  15. Yes but still it might occur to you that no-one is going to mistake Ben 10 tails for the piece I described, then that I might not be talking about the one that clearly has Ben 10 tails, and have enough curiosity to investigate my crazy talk. Or if you're not gonna check, don't speak out dismissing it. You're good though. It's my fault for not doing it visually the first time. It's because it gives it a different style, and that's the look they're going for. Wasn't essential to maximum building possibilities on launch of the entirely new system. I like the idea of pin/axle connection returning but looking at the pieces, even if they looked like they could, that's certainly incidental and not even a remotely intended connection. Just a clunky cheat like rubber banding parts together, or at best like putting a plate sideways between studs. This. Good on ya for comparing to the known geometry, I eyeballed it and thought it'd be too thin outright.
  16. Oh, you're right. Silly me. Just kidding, Mr. Dismissive. Have some verification. Skull Grinder's Horns
  17. Hey did someone figure out yet: Skull Grinder's horns are the Ultimate Phoenix's head feathers! Really cool looking.
  18. Using Chrome for Windows, and it's Brickset that's giving me grief. But I have certainly experienced IE being unusable for typing in Eurobricks - on a university computer. On my own computer I buried that terrible browser so deep as to never see it again Incidentally, congrats on 1000 posts! Well it could be, say, a vampire in a hawaiian shirt or something like that. The werewolf is coming from a tradition of s4 werewolf and monster fighters werewolf. I think it's pretty believable. Because I'd say that those are surely witch socks, but there needs to be a continuation of the purple dress: that's your cloth piece. Then you got the lack of leg bones on the skeleton suit. it goes hips->nothing->feet. What? There's the incomplete printing. For sure. I can't imagine that's the intended look for full production. (You're right that nothing's getting replaced at this point, obviously, there aren't any redesigns of decoration or parts, but surfaces missing print: right there) I believe the skeleton is also the owner of the wrong head, like people have already said (I think I did too in my first post in the topic). The Man-Eating Plant having a panicking dude inside in flagrante digesto seems righter than the skeleton costume having a ghost head. And maybe the arm screw up is on the Man-Eating Plant? Lime green with thorn print? Could badly use an accent color on the body section and it would make sense to continue the vines onto the poseable parts. I kinda wish they'd potted the Man-Eating Plant, it needs something besides printed texture and a giant molded head. EDIT: Whoops, sorry there 8BrickMario, reading comprehension issues there. You caught the lime arm thing and I didn't see it and parroted your comment.
  19. Some combination of Brickset, my browser, and my internet connection likes to send my comments straight to hell, so eurobricks, have my thoughts: J'a-freakin-dore. Fabulously tacky and dated. All the women are fabulous. I'm super happy about the return of the bouffant from Prez B's secretary, and only last night I was lamenting never getting the vampire bride. The Tiger girl is amazing. The Frankenstein guitarist is the coolest thing ever, and we've finally got that guitar in a good color! I like the skeleton costume but I'm not sure why he's Strong Sad. I feel like that might be a mismatch, probably for a generic unspookified Ghostface. Giant brain guy is fun, I appreciate the glove and boot thing going on. I like that the werewolf is our friend the lumberjack. And pirate zombie captain? c'mon. So good.
  20. Man oh man 7, 9B, and 10 (I can't wait for official mounted figures to return) are almost my favorites. My favorite is that mask coral! And the WIP bird skeleton perched on the shipping box is almost too nice to complete
  21. I don't know why it suprised me because obviously it's a necessary part of the design, but it did when: I looked inside the masks and discovered geometry that butts up under and over the silly looking nose and jaw, and realized those facial features are actually functional to secure the position of the mask. Between that and the pretty good actual connection, they really work exactly like they're supposed to.
  22. I saw the name and expected this guy's involvement But this is a great little scene! I love how little space (and time?) the process takes up, and all the dwarves drinking away the problem of losing their jobs...
  23. That's what I assumed, not an international promotion. I kinda figured that when the packaging didn't have the sticker on front that said it was included. And no I got the pass and it's really just the 6 level packs I think. I paid the 1.99 for BB
  24. Haha these are actually the two I got - I wanted Gali for my first purchase but everywhere I've been has been down to really mangy selections. Before the new year I found Onua, Kopaka, and Pohatu - got Pohatu and a Protector of Ice (which ended up a gift to my sick brother who has been a collector of ice figures through Bionicle 1 up to HF Rhino-armored Stormer 3.0). Today I ran to 3 stores that had nothing whatsoever and then finally found a Tahu, Kopaka, and Pohatu again - so I got Tahu. Very cool sets. I also have the broad shouldered PoF and PoE. My priorities are with DC and Minifigures this first wave of sets BUT I am aiming for a full set of Bionicle when I can afford it, because they're fantastic. Itching for toy fair reveals!
  25. Sorted into the Marvel Super Heroes category. Good job, Toys R Us.
