  1. I saw in an interview that someone linked to here, within the last few days, that the very real excuse behind the unlegoing of vehicles and sets is that shows that are blatant toy commercials can't be shown in some markets and having a one to one recreation of the toy gets it classified that way. So you get a very slightly less blatant commercial that can be broadcast to a lot more kids.
  2. I kinda want to click the link but this is also exactly the kind of wording that comes through peoples accounts when they're hacked by robots. Haha what a good point, Stephen! you know that reminds me of how I make 500 dollars a day working in my pajamas at home, and it all started when i went to www dot eurobricks dot com...
  3. Oh just remembered to say: bummed the proposed "sound brick" gimmick didn't make it in. I guess I can use the obnoxious one from the alien conquest mothership and pretend it's the iconic sound design of the tardis........... Yeah, nope. I like this a lot. Beats both the official ones in my book but an easy mod from either (besides colour (when in england...) and eyestalk print). Make me sad, and I hope they do something classier when hawkgirl rolls around I mean if it works for a weeping angel, generic angels and angel statues, and thanagarians, that's a lot of bang for the new part development buck. And if it can get pushed through quick for the giant dimensions budget... Hawkman, Hawkgirl and Weeping Angels would all sell like hotcakes... That piece is my jam. I noticed it pretty late in the game when I was perusing the Friends selection, but before they showed it on the "toys" in the winter toy shop rerelease designer video. Wish NewElementary would play around with that for a post...
  4. A bummer there's not an opening door. Gotta have an opening door. How can the doctor invite Velma on a time 'n' space adventure without a door? Jinkies! Also (copy-pasting this from a youtube comment I made) I feel like there should have been light burst accessories to go on neck and wrists for the regeneration Woulda been fun.
  5. Too true! Sadly that was the one that was out at toys r us when I went there yesterday with the $20 of rewards points I earned by probably overpaying at least $50 for things. But I got all the purple ones, the other two construction guys and the glasses wearing green guy for $11 - didn't dare to buy more due to all the skylanders and couple of dimensions figurines I bought in my last pay period. But lovin' them. Took out my collection, like "tornado" up there, and altogether it's quite a charming lineup. Wanna make some of my own monsters with some of the newer series I haven't played around with yet. I've been keeping them all in one loose shallow sterilite drawer though, and I've got all the previous series - some of my series ones are getting broken clips from having things pushing down on them, gotta replace some arms and fingers, and designate some more storage or display space in the future. Probably preferable to link one or two pictures to a gallery. Takes a lot of scrolling to get back to conversation over that, all in the middle of a thread
  6. Whoops, here I was thinking I could read :P Sorry - good wishlisting!
  7. Oh dear god what a legendary suggestion! Traveller's Tales, get you some Rowan Atkinson up in there!!!!!!!!!! I was suprised I hadn't seen it said yet, though I'm sure someone must have in the main topic. Get john barrowman to record some subtle flirting with every character from every theme in there
  8. 9. If it was Lego they certainly would have said a "little reveal" to be cheeky. Lego parts are little! And it wouldn't miff people who don't think Lego is worth calling a big reveal. But I personally really really wanna see that set. I was about to say it'd be my first ideas set, but remembered I have the minecraft and the classic space mech. Thankful for dimensions softening the blow of the delorean I missed.
  10. JK Simmons in... Portal? So, do the level packs have no "free play"? Because I skimmed a portal pack video and it looked like all the portal pack pieces, and only the portal pack pieces get one through the level.
  11. Super yes to Marvin, super yes to PercyJ's Wile E and RR, Bugs and Elmer should teampack, aaaaaand we need a Tasmanian Devil with a spin attack! Pretty much yes to all of PercyJ's suggestions. could take or leave speed racer. And the original Jurassic Park sets are a must, but like, swap out the phone for a triceratops. more dino presence needed! Existing license characters: Scooby Doo Fun: Velma (just gimme Velma!!! The Doctor needs a companion!) Some of my suggestions work better if they ever let characters be included without a whole free roam zone. Samurai Jack Team: Jack and the Scotsman, Bagpipe car minibuild Fun: Aku, Beetle Drone minibuild (Rebuilds: Wasp Drone, Mantis Drone) Terminator 2 Team: T800 & kid John, motorbike minibuild Fun: T1000, Skynet VTOL minibuild Team: Sarah and Miles, T800 arm minibuild I know these have been stated to be out but years down the line if the licenses are wrested back: Star Trek (classic & TNG) Level: Kirk, Enterprise minibuild Team: McCoy (w tribble accessory - recolored pompom) & Spock, Phaser/Scanner minibuild Fun: Uhura Fun: Klingon, Bird of Prey minibuild Fun: Borg, borg cube minibuild Fun: Worf TMNT Team: Raphael & Casey, mini Shellraiser Level: Mikey, minibuild pizza shooter Team: Bebop & Rocksteady The previous 4 lines incidentally involve portals. kept wanting to put time portal accessory or teleporter and realizing the redundancy. Very yes! ... Fun Pack: Toph
  12. Don't see emmet's rebuilds and I wanted to see the mech. As soon as Disney Infinity was announced, I hoped for a looney tunes game in retaliation. Much zanier and more possibility of outlandish character abilities just made that seem like it'd be a funner game then using disney characters - who in infinity seemed a lot less... "animated" than even they should have been (haven't played it so maybe I'm just a prematurely judgemental numbskull). But I really respect Looney Tunes more than a lot of the Disney franchises, for the fun factor and for not demanding worship so much, outside of letting the quality speak for itself.
  13. It's not that it's a quality issue. The parts are the same real Lego parts as ever. it's just, I feel, a fact of the Lego Vikings axe piece and clear clips.
  14. Okay so I got Marty and Nya. But also, being at the store in person, I looked through all the alternate models, and some of them look crazy great - the scooby snack has a build that gives you fire breath, the "axe cart" turns into an axe flinger and a flying cart, Shelob turns into a ride-on and a ride-on acid spitter. Emmet's model builds into the mech from the film. This is just from the Alt builds I didn't know about previously, because I like other ones we had seen (cyborg's 4 legged walker, spitter raptor, and so on), and a whole lot of the primary models. I was thinking that most of the iconic things I wouldn't wanna rebuild into the gimmick versions, but the already gimmicky stuff is all fair game :P So I was thinking some of these things are gonna break straight away though. Wonder Woman's jet has polycarbonate flag parts - those clips are gonna last for maybe 4 rebuilds. Same with Gimli's axe heads (and that's assuming you keep all the game pieces upright and not all bumping into each other, in which case those axe heads are gonna break before that). I don't suppose the game lets multiples be set up? if you had two Gimlis and wanted to keep two vehicle configurations at the ready? Are all the options on the toy tag for a vehicle/gadget stored on the tag, or just the model ID, with the rest in the game? Hope all the building instructions make it to the Eurobricks official set LDD files really soon. I'd do it if I had the game, but I don't.
  15. I think I have 3, but only the one in my collection proper still has the arms attached - the other arms are all being used as individual parts. Don't weep for them Viking woman's two faces are great for making a scene where a woman's out having a good time with her friends and suddenly a guy walks up to put the moves on her.
  16. Yeah this topic's too hard But I haven't seen anyone mention Aztec Warrior, Wrestler, or Motorcycle Mechanic. Those are super solid.
  17. I'd just want, say, equal parts Egyptian, Mesoamerican, Greek, and Norse. You know in response to the topic name even though I'm way deep into the topic.
  18. So my TRU has kept them behind the electronics checkout for about three series now, which makes me mad, because I thought they just weren't getting them and I've had to run around getting them from multiple places because that's the only place I'd ever see the box properly shelved. Every other place has them on pegs... But I think it is due to the ripped open bags, which... I just think it would keep them from selling if you have them out of sight behind a counter that isn't staffed half the time. Anyway I asked the cashier who knows I'm in there all the time "hey this might be unreasonable, but can I hand pick those if I stand here to do it?" and it turned out it was not frowned upon! Box only had 2 of the 6 I still needed though, so apparently someone found out they were there.
  19. I still need the witch, tiger gal, and zombie businessman. This is more dragged out than I am accustomed to Just got the werewolf today though, it's fantastic.
  20. On the one hand, love the model! On the other, I was not in the know about Andromeda's Gates (I guess I saw this from the front page recent posts - but yay, oodles of sci fi models to look at now!), so I felt a very real disappointment when "ice planet" didn't involve blue and clear neon orange
  21. Hey so is there any trooper diversity under the helmets on these figures beyond the lady officer people are mentioning?
  22. The whole product line was out on the shelf at my Walmart. Mentioned that it may cause people trouble, but they couldn't really be bothered. For the hell of it brought one to the register, 'cause every once in a blue moon it's in a manager's heart to override the ol' "no sell", but no luck there, as I expected. Would have been cool to not have to suffer the dirty looks from the poor sleep deprived midnight launch TRU crew for a $20 set, but whatever. And I'm gonna make this abundantly clear, before people slam me - I was very upfront about the "I don't think these are intended to be sold til friday, so I don't expect to get it but I thought I'd have it scanned and see what happens" - I did not put anyone through any hassle or cause any disruption. The cashier said "yeah, I guess these are about to be taken off the shelf" (I think they're trained to say anything that doesn't scan is a recall, to keep a line running), and I said "Kinda expected that. No worries, thank you." Probably "protesting too much" here but I didn't want anyone to think I'm awful.
  23. I've been to 4 Walgreens and found 10 different figures (no banshee, z. businessman, z. cheerleader, werewolf, witch, or tiger girl). They only have about 12 out at a time, and none of them have wanted to scan. Gave in and went to my Wal-mart where I figured a full box'd be out, but nah. No rush I guess. But what is the "sold out" about? that's crummy.
  24. I loved this exchange in the comments: "Grown men playing with Legos?" "People with Hobbies? Perish the thought!" But yeah I do prefer the garage model here.
  25. I'm 100% numbered series (no Gold), 100% Simpsons, 100% Lego Movie, 0% Olympics. I had to have Series 1 after seeing the figure reveals on the employee badges or whatever they were. I got to Toys R Us when S1 was put out to see a guy walking out with 1 of 2 full boxes - being S1, these never got restocked. Went barcode, opened at home. Never again - panicked on way back to claim one of my all time faves, the Mexican Wrestler! My sister got my spare diver, and I went to feeling the figure parts - I got an excellent average with that, and thankfully no further figures are distinguished by total lack of accessory. Anyway, past that nothing's been a hassle to get. Well, the Gold series I checked every bag I ever came across, so that was a hassle. Also have toy soldier, and the color variants from the theme sets (rock band set figures, halloween set zombie. missed green hair clown from cake topper looking forward to zombie skateboarder ). - I consider that my adding something new to this thread. No-one ever thinks of the color variants. Black and white rocker girl is pretty worthy in my book.
