  1. So people, manual levers it is then. The thing probably weights 50KG Sadly the shell does not strengthen it, just for show at the moment. So we saying no guns, cannons or launchers?
  2. So question to the forum, should this be manual drive via levers or drive by phone / wifi? I think the manual may be more fun. Maybe the cannon could be remote control? I would try and do both but don't have enough ports, maybe use an accelerometer, mindsensor keypad?
  3. Here is the update, its pretty heavy To answer questions, panels, a few hundred (maybe 300), 5 x 11 frames maybe 500 +. It is using 15l LEGO axels, there are 4 hidden Rotacaster wheels under the seat to make it extra safe so the whole thing is on 20 LEGO axles. Its currently on a 6 person table!
  4. I have a few cool LEGO MINDSTORMS t-shirts which I got from LEGOWORLD Denmark and Holland, oh and one for Great Western LEGO SHOW (being on the stand) Got a EV3 one on today.
  5. Currently 24 motors and 12 NXT's I may add more to power the front 2 wheels This runs on 125MM rotacaster wheels
  6. So now its a tank that looks like a coffin! Next I am going to reshape the front and put a cannon on it! It weighs a lot!
  7. A slightly better pic, let me know if this is boring people!
  8. Last night I spent quite a lot of time trying to work out if this is actually going to work, I decided to eat pick and mix sweets and just go for it. Trying to build the body now and made a seat
  9. See I have some very cool metal parts but generally I have never used them. I do however use Rotacaster Wheels and 3rd party sensors, the NXT2Wifi is a good one, Mindsensor and Dexter also make some cool ones. The LEGO Wheelchair would not of worked without Rotacaster!
  10. Quite a lot of the parts have been left over from the LEGO Wheelchair and so I had them spare hence the colour scheme. Now, yes Skynet, well the funny thing is the next project I do will be a lot smarter than this, proper image processing etc
  11. There has never been a black camera just the VC and The studio one (Which are very similar)
  12. You could do this via a PC or a Mobile phone if you can could. Look at NXTRemote for Android or MindSquall for PC Or LeJOS allows PC control.
  13. So manage to build the final shape and lay the 24 motor wires. I did give it a quick test on carpet and it can turn and drive me (85KG), It will work better on harder floor. Next is to put the NXT's to the front, wire up the controls, then build the shell.
  14. While I was away I had a good play with the software and built 2 of the models (Main one and the Scorpion), I also used the iPhone app which worked really well, read the help. Think they did a very good job on the Retail and Edu software.
  15. I agree, if your just using LEGO as a way to build, then why not use 3rd party pieces, I use 3rd party sensors
  16. Nope I make it up as I go along, planning it in my head lol!
  17. So you want your phone to read a QR code to control the NXT, if so yes if its an Android phone and NXT 2 Fair point, I assumed NXT 2, but yes if its Ev3 then there will be more possibilities in the future!
  18. I have not tried Microsoft's Robotic Studio but there is also MindSqualls RobotC I found nice and easy to use, it did lack some BT samples ages ago but this is not a free product. BrickCC is very similar I believe and FREE! The interesting one is LeJOS because it works on a MAC, Windows, LINUX, is free, allows remote control, and was pretty easy to get working with Android devices. This is the one I am now learning :)
  19. I am making this to use up my 5 x 11 frames as I never use them for anything, much bigger fan of 5 x 7. I am hoping to build a large motor out of lego to show off, with pistons going up and down. wont power the car but would look cool
  20. Not sure what the difference is in topics but here you go.
  21. Did you sort this out, BT is very flaky, once connected its ok but can crash the NXT
