  1. Hi all :) So, yes the Apple watch does need charging every day, I also have a Pebble Steel (I should hook that up to my robot) and I feel that is more solid in many ways (waterproof, battery, connection) however its not as pretty! The watch is still very nice! Currently you have NO access to any apple watch hardware sensors, developing for the apple watch is pretty limited at the mo compared to normal dev (no subclassing, no custom controls, no hardware access, no gestures) All code that you write for the Apple Watch actually runs on the watch.
  2. This robot allows you to communicate via a 2 way video feed anywhere in the world The LEGO EV3 system has really opened up the mobile possibilities as it allows you to control it via Android or iOS smart devices (WIFI or Bluetooth). Here I use 2 iPads that stream video to each other via the Quickblox.com SDK. The caller also passes down movement controls to the robot to direct it about. The EV3 is controlled via Bluetooth using direct commands. The QuickBlox SDK allows you to ramp up the video quality but for this demonstration I felt it was not needed Links http://quickblox.com/developers/IOS Video conferencing https://github.com/dsjove/legoev3cpp LEGO EV3 control
  3. It was a fun event, sadly he did not have a go, which to be fair is safer :) LEGO Segway by burf2000, on Flickr The Segway has already kinda been done by me V2 of the board will be faster :)
  4. Here is a new video of it from LEGOWORLD Copenhagen More photos can be found here
  5. This is now going to be at LEGOWORLD next week. Trying to make it look better, here is a slight redesign
  6. Thanks mate, I hope I can make it go side to side by reversing some of the motors.
  7. Thanks mate, thats awesome! Hope to bring a lot more in 2015, this is only v0.1
  8. Yeah your right, finding somewhere to try it out is always the hardest part!
  9. My good friend Henrik gave me a great idea, build a LEGO Skateboard / Hoverboard that uses Rotacaster Omni Directional wheels as its the year of Back to the Future. Here is a quick rough prototype of it. It is supporting my weight at 85KG. It uses 8 NXT's, 16 NXT motors and 8 Rotacaster wheels http://www.rotacaste...tic-wheels.html Next version to be stronger, and look cooler! I had another go after the filming had stopped and was great fun, until I fell off lol
  10. Once I get a Google Wear device, I will take a look. The main area missing is iOS support!
  11. Yeah anything thats Android and supports Bluetooth can control the chair, I hope to at some point do a iOS version, whats your smart watch like. I have a Pebble at the moment and love it. Is their a need for an Android app?
  12. So Google Glass runs Android 4.4w and so it talks to the main NXT using Bluetooth. This NXT then controls the others via touch sensors (paddle system at the back) Ask away if you want to know more!
  13. Sorry I been away for most of 2014, damn them kids lol So just knocked this up last night. Works quite well Here is my son having a go:
  14. Hello all, so has anyone got Android controlling Ev3 via their own app?
  15. Thanks dude! Thanks people, hey if your nipper wants a go, maybe we can sort something out in the future mate. I always try and make the effect for people who come and see my stuff :)
  16. Yes sometimes too quick, some kids nearly lost their legs! It seems kids dont understand , stand back!
  17. Glad you like it :) I do plan to see if I can get it to go round corners, and also to make it look more like a train :)
  18. I am a mobile developer but thats nothing to do with it, this was built out of leftovers from other project, ideas etc hence why its the same colour as the wheelchair which is still alive and rolling. Running out of room now for big projects lol Any suggestions, should I put false tracks on? I don't really like the idea of a roof as it be murder to get in to
  19. Well it seems to work, what next?
  20. Morning, so its uses 24 NXT motors and 12 NXT's currently controlled simply by touch sensors Except wheels, 100% LEGO XL motors are a little weaker (rpm of NXT is lower) and I did not have a massive supply of them at home. My Go-Cart is powered by XL's
  21. I don't think I am going to add a roof, maybe a windscreen, roof would have to be robotic so that I could get in. Ooo now thats a idea Next is to make good controllers
