  2. If your happy with that Jim, Oh mate, long time no speak, what have I missed, Any robots?
  3. I have already reviews some metal parts, that were very impressive, so if anyone does want me to test out the parts, put them in a model or something do let me know, I generally youtube my results :)
  4. Ages ago, I got sent some very nice 125mm Rotacaster wheels (actually the first to have them) and I built a simple large robot with them. Now, with the UK's largest LEGO show coming up, I thought I would build something a little bigger. Work in progress, 2nd version as first version broke when I sat on it! Its going to look like a car, drive like a tank, hopefully be NXT2WIFI controlled. 13-14 NXT's When it broke The main base area supports my weight and moves quicker than the wheelchair, my aim is for this to work outside. Once I get the subframe finished I post a video!
  5. If anyone wants to send me some parts for testing :) (worth a try) Some very interesting bits out there!
  6. OO I need to make one of these for a show, I will take a look!
  7. I love RobotC but learning Lejos would be more useful to me as learning Android
  8. I will dig out my wifi that I was told to buy. I have not tried wifi yet, its on the list to do! BrickCC, I think you can program the EV3 with that already, I seen news about it just had no time
  9. Good work on making the gyro boy, I do hope to try and build it tonight. I believe the retail is a little cheaper than the Educational version, both have pros and cons
  10. I will try and build the GyroBoy for you and let you know what I find. I have seen it work in person before.
  11. I cant believe someone is selling the motors, as far as I know, the educational set is already out and the retail is out 1st of September. I already have mine as I am a MCP. They have done a bloody good job on this!
  12. Thanks for a the nice comments, I may look in to metal track so it can go round corners but not sure yet. Someone suggested having a giant turn table at both ends of the track for kids to rotate the train
  13. So I investigated more and you will need to download a add-on that enables them, they have not released this yet. I use RobotC to but am going to give this software a good go.
  14. The education version should support the extra sensors but I don't think the retail version out of the box supports the educational sensors, could be wrong I have not loaded them up side by side yet, on my things to do.
  15. 8 of the NXT's can easily be charged via a normal chargers, the front 2 NXT's the batteries have to be pulled out as the charging socket is blocked
  16. lol, it runs on track not floor! Not a bad idea for sound effects etc however the NXT is pretty quiet, the EV3 is louder so I may add one of them to it. Once I have enough track, I will run it at work. Not a bad idea covering the boiler, should I make it look more train like?
  17. Its pretty heavy to be honest probably 10KG or more, the motors do actually act as part of the support for each wheel. There are no bearings
  18. Here is a close up, slightly out of date as its now longer but gives you an idea
  19. LEGO 16L single train track but in 2 pairs http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3228c
  20. Once I get more track I will take it to work and do a proper run
  21. So something I have been working on for a show, I am going to add a carriage so that I can pull kids along. 100% LEGO 10 NXT's 20 NXT motors and uses LEGO track. Sadly cant go round bends
  22. You know me mate, I already have a 24 motor version in testing (this one is 8)
