You pulled the Ratrod look quite well! I love how you used the small wheels on the engine for blower pulleys!

I like many of the others said above, I use photos, music, and movies to get my building in gear. Lately for my Japanese style buildings I have built and am building, I just place my big Ol' 40 inch TV on my build table and watch my favorite anime series for inspiration, if something cool pops up, then I pause it, do a sketch if needed and build!

I'm 19, I'll be 20 in February.

I do not have any 1x1 rounds, but I have tons of the pink flower pieces, I will do that if I build any larger trees. I did not go for a bound foot look, a normal LEGO minifigure's footprint is a 1x1 so I did not want to stray farther than that, It's also tough to get detail on such a small scale. I use traditional minifugures because those are all I have, I have a good 500 or so regular town figs. I don't use any flesh colored figs, I like it traditional. Like I said before, detail on such a small scale is hard to do, yes I tried to do a sandal look and I think it somewhat worked. I have the buildings built on a 1 brick high base because I want all the buildings to connect at the base by Technic pins and for stability. It also adds tons of rigidity to the overall structure so I can transport it to the NILTC shows, mostly if I had a building on a single base it would get flimsy in a box and break apart during transport. It also does not use very many bricks to go 1 brick higher, the inside is mostly hollow, just enough brick on the inside to support the layer of plates the building is on. It also allows me for the future to be able to build SNOT roads. Hope that explains a lot of things.

Thanks all, that you enjoy my building! My next building might take more time until I post it, my build table and room have gotten to the point where everything is a disaster, I need to re-sort and re-organize first.

The Temple is on my "to do" list and I will eventually get to making a fairly large one soon. I actually have a bathhouse in the works! Just waiting for some Bricklink orders to finish it! Hehe, "Japanese Guy"... funny. Even though I'm Polish I do like Anime and Manga a lot and thats where I got most of my Inspiration. The tree in the garden is a cross between a regular tree and a Cherry Blossom, I just needed something taller that a flower to fill the corner.

This is my second building in continuation to my project of building a Japanese city. It is a Tea House! Like my other building, it is built as a module so it can connect on the bottom to the other building. The roof opens up and it features a fully functional sliding front door! I also built a few traditional styled outfits for the servers. Here are the pics: Close up of the door: Door open: The Garden: The waterfall: A look inside: Inside: Inside: Close up the server: Another outside shot: THe old man, thinking in the garden: Here is a pic of the two buildings together: If you have not seen the restaurant, here is the link to that: Japanese Sushi House Hope you enjoy this building too! Comments welcome.

Those are pretty much custom made by the person who owns the car. You just need to go to a vinyl graphics shop and buy some squares of transparent red film and cut them yourself or have them put them on. It also depends on how you want it cut, some do the tails solid red, or cut out the reverse lights as the photo I posted above, or cut a bit more out for the turn signals also. This is a ten minute job for a high quality vinyl shop. All red: Reverse lights and turn signals not masked:

Here are the better masked taillights: Its just a red film over the stock lights. Much better IMO.

I do love the new STI's but the one thing that bugs me is those clear tail lights, not really my taste at all, but I've seen guys do a red decal mask over them and it looks fantastic, I would love to get the STI especially for these brutal Chicago winters we have.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion

Now the question is, When are these going to start hitting store shelves!?! I am so buying tons of these! -
Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.
-
I've walked past that popcorn shop before! Its quite small! Great MOC!
-
Actually those parts came from a different Bricklink Store! its The Chromeshop! The Chromeshop And to add, the chroming process is not paint, it is liquid electroplating, where the parts are dipped in a solution containing the various metals and its a plating process.

Why yes I will.

What LEGO do you expect under the tree this year?
Modulex Guy replied to Legoliner Pilot's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm not expecting any LEGO under the tree, I always get the "I never know which sets you have or don't have." I will most likely get cash or a gift card or something in that nature, which I'm fine with, because then I can go on a shopping spree! -
Yes... My Non-LEGO Room: All the Indy cars I had autographed personally by the drivers, same with the Top Fule dragsters and Top Fuel engine parts, plus many autographs form various drivers... All my cars range from 1:87 scale to 1/12 scale! Thousands of Hot Wheels (shown and in boxes for the moment. The tall case has 1/24 scale NASCAR cars, some are 24K gold plated, others are limited to 1 of 50 pieces made, and many autographs like Richard Petty, to Tony Stewart. PICS! Stuff that just didnt fit in the room:

I had those same thoughts when I was younger...even though I'm still just 19 I no longer think those funky mods are cool. I used to think the giant spoiler, "coffee can" muffler, Lambo doors, decals, body kits, huge monitors, wild interiors, etc. were the hottest things on the planet. Fast & Furious Yo. I still do buy mods for my car, but they are sensible that can be taken off, just performance mods, and just bolt-ons. Because If I were to sell my car, I can take those off, convert my car to stock, sell the car, and sell the parts separate.

A good fabrication shop would rather have these brackets welded to the body, bolted to the door and with added support metal, these kits are good, but for a heavy door such a a 300C door, there runs the risk of bending the bracket or breaking, I've seen a few of those AutoLoc "Lambo door" brackets just snap in half. The door handles are the tricky bit in this instal because once you unscrew the stock handles, you are left with an indentation of the part where your hand goes under the handle and all the holes for the handle, those would have to be welded closed, smoothed out with body filler and re-painted, a high quality show would buy a new door skin, cut it up to move the indentation for the handle to the front and re-weld in the new skin. Or go the slightly cheaper method to get rid of the handles all together and go "shaved doors" this would save the hassle of moving around most of the door hardware and would require only filling of the stock holes in the door skin, but that would still require repainting of the whole doors to get the color matched properly. and to open the door, you just get the remote that "pops" the door open. I cannot get you an exact cost of this install due to every shop charging different rates for different work. ...I just quickly looked at the 300C forum, the few people that actually went through with this say the cost was between 5 to 8 grand! ouch! This is what you get for 8000$: (just for doors and paint)
-
Well, if you want to suicide the rear doors, you need to find a respectable body shop to weld in the flipped hinges, to relocate the handles, you need to first cut out the factory handles and remove the mechanism from the door and weld them in on the other side of the doors, and pretty much just flip them around, stick the left door locks on the right and vice versa. Then remove the door latches and move them to the B pillar to close the doors...oh and you cant forget to re-route the wiring with extensions from the B pillar to the rear if you still want to have power windows and locks. Its a very costly job to re do the door handles just because there is so much fabrication that needs to be done to make them functional and look right. If you have lots of money to blow, go for it, I personally think its too much $$$.

Yup, It is a curtain! Ant thanks again to everyone who likes my restaurant.
-
that is one of the problems to this roof, you cannot put plates on the ends! there is a slight bend to the entire roof that is like 1/8 of a stud off, but surprisingly its a very sturdy roof, I've been moving it about the house and on my work table all day without a single problem.
-
Well to answer your question about lighting I have no idea how it's wired. I found a bunch of sets of these at a local party supply store as "wedding decorative lights" they were like 2$ to 3$ each. And glad that everyone likes My MOC, Thanks! ...I'm also in the process of building another shop... I might finish by tomorrow evening.

I built it in rows, one row facing one way, the next row the other, and repeat. It was a bit of a zig-zag method to build the roof.
