Good plans! Looks like it will be nice, small and full of detail. I like the pics of your old town, I see you like to use the old grey roads too! I think the old grey roads were the best out of all the types of road out there, there is really no additional building of sidewalk needed as there is with the green roadplates. I'll be looking forward to see your finished town.

HELP! I'm looking for WW2 M1 US Helmet
Modulex Guy replied to BaronSat's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Brickforge has similar military helmets, I'd check those to see if they will work for you. -
Yes, I know they are a bit blocky, I was thinking of using a headlight brick and a 1x6 tile to get the right effect. About that sign, I originally was not going to have that and am going to make my own better sign, it is just this one, I found in a bin of mixed LEGO I bought at the same time I was building the station. I was like: "oh look, it says 'station' i'll just plop this in front of the station I'm making" I'm re-doing the bike rack because I think I can make it more realistic, and will re-do the diagonals to make them more... not blocky.

Getting started in LEGO Trains - What to buy?
Modulex Guy replied to MrTools's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Both RC trains only need the batteries to get going, that is it, but you have to replace those often if you run the train for a long time. The Emerald Night needs a bit more to get going, but its more worth it in my opinion because you buy the rechargeable lithium battery from S@H. For the Emerald Night, in the set itself gives you the instructions to build the PF version and I think the list of parts needed to do it. Here is the PF stuff you would need to get the Emerald Night going: http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Leaf.aspx?cn=587&d=70 Lithium Battery, Charger, Speed Controller, XL Motor, IR receiver, extension cord, and the optional light.- 191 replies

These?? Not for sale. Sorry. At least I'm giving you confirmation that the Dragon LEGO Universe does exist!

I'm looking for this set: 8389 M.Schumacher & R.Barrichello I would like to get two of them, one in MISB the other can be opened complete. I would like to trade for them, Just let me know what you need and I'll see if I have what you are looking for. FYI (I mostly have basic bricks in all colors, tons of round plates, some town figs, NO Star Wars sorry.) Or if trade is not possible, then I got cash.

MOC: What good is a town without a LEGO store...
Modulex Guy replied to Modulex Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Glad everyone likes the details! I'm also in the process of building other classic town buildings, pics soon! -
I consider myself 90% purist. I do like some of the custom elements such as BrickArms and Brickforge and custom made figs, but I rarely buy them. I build with official LEGO elements and are completely un-modified. I do occasionally make a custom sticker for a sign, and buy aftermarket pneumatic tubing because its stronger and less likely to crack due to age. MegaBlocks = Blasphemy!

MOC: What good is a town without a LEGO store...
Modulex Guy replied to Modulex Guy's topic in LEGO Town
If you look closely at a picture of the real store the little technic holes represent the little windows with small displays in them, the larger windows are the desplays for sets: (best pic I could find that shows the shelves with display windows) -
EXTERMINATE!!!!! Very Awesome creations, I love the show Doctor Who!!! Nice work!

I've been asked a few times at shows, "I like your town, but where is the train station??" So... I built one! Built like old European buildings like in Germany, a train station: Young couple waiting for the train: The platform: The station building: The front of the station: Bike racks: The ticket office: The bay window: The second floor is empty right now until I finish building the offices. Comments Welcome!
-
I decided to start building a new style of buildings and try some old European style wooden beam buildings and built a LEGO store so my townsfolk have somewhere to buy their LEGO! Here is my store: Front view Back of the store: A look through the windows: The PaB wall!: Shelves with community windows: Top View The back of the counter and PaB cup stacks: Second floor, just storage for the store: Comments always welcome!

Here is a good one: You know you are a fan of LEGO when you never had a dark age. (I played with LEGO as soon as my baby fingers could put two Duplo bricks together.)

BMW Sauber is leaving F1 next year. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/07/29...ve-formula-one/ At least some good news is that there are rumors of Robert Kubica moving to Ferrari for 2010. (I hope) Looks like all of my Robert Kubica BMW Sauber hats, shirts, flag, diecast cars, posters, and all other random BMW Sauber stuff will now be rather collectible.

hmm, All train topics gone? I sense a new theme board coming along, "LEGO Trains" ?

To all of those who say, "where is the big exhaust", It does not need one. This is not your typical steam engine, its more of a home water heater on wheels that uses a gasoline/kerosine vaporizer and a pilot light to heat the water and uses re-circulator valves to power the pistons which power the gearbox and power the car. Here is a picture of a real steam car: 1909 Model R Stanley Steamer.
-
Awesome! it reminds me of Jay Leno's Model R Stanley Steamer! The boiler looks like the real one. Nice work!
-
I like it! The playability is outstanding on your little layout! The only minor thing that I would change though would to put baseplates under the entire layout, hide all the wood of the table (but thats just my opinion).

Yay! the mailman brought me a nice box today! More Modulex!!! The Boxes: The bricks: 2x2 brown & black, 1x2 brown & black, 2x5 brown & black. My entire Modulex collection together: Each brick up close: I'll be building a small MOC with these tonight, I'll post pictures when I will finish.

Glad everyone likes all my Vintage LEGO! I'm still waiting for an order of 2000 more modulex bricks! I'll post pics once they come in. What a shame...I would have asked to buy them from you if you got them.
