Why do people buy new sets and never open them?
Modulex Guy replied to Ambo100's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm on the "Buy it now, no time to build now/forgot I had it" side. I now probably have as much brick MISB as I do opened and used. I usually buy 1 or 2 or 3 or more sets because I either need the parts, the set goes on sale or clearance, or because it is just awesome. Being a full time college student I do not have the time to just sit down and build every single set I buy right then and there. I recently bought a bunch of Star Wars sets, all the Prince of Persia sets, and it all just went into my pile of "to be opened later" sets. I still have sets from like three or more years ago that I never really got to. I also forget about sets sometimes, once I found a city firefighter impulse set crushed under the seat of my car... I was like "oh, look at this, must have been here for a year or so". -
Like this: This was my van the Thursday morning of Brickworld! Always pack carefully!

Most likely its an April fools joke... Forums do stuff like this all the time, on my car forum we always mess around with the board, we change names make stupid topics, once we even flipped the entire forum upside down and turned it pink. This sounds normal.

What is the hardest Lego set you have ever built?
Modulex Guy replied to SharkMan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Like I had mentioned in your other post, the LEGO Education sets do NOT come with instructions, they are sets for classrooms and are meant for kids to use with their imaginations and teachers to use as class aids. -
Well, that is what you get from LEGO Education, A box of random bricks with a few extra pieces, in this case wheels, windscreens, airplane bits etc. and since these sets are made for classrooms, the kids are to be taught about building, the teacher shows the kids some basic building techniques and the kids use their imaginations from there. The education sets are no more than basic brick sets with a few more specialty bits thrown in. I've ordered loads of things from LEGO Education Division before and thats exactly what it is designed for, many of these sets or part lots don't even have a box, they come shipped in a large mixed bag in a shipping box or a plain cardboard box. Hope that answered your question.

I thought the turbo 4 motors require premium fuel... thats how it is with my Passat, the 1.8T requires 91+ minimum stock (it says it right on the gas door) while the V6 Passat takes any old 89 regular gas. I always fill my car with Shell 93 octane, or 100 octane race fuel when I'm in a good mood... My car loves the 100. As mentioned above, the forced induction cars require the higher octane fuel, but not necessarily get worse gas mileage, I can easily get 35mpg+ cruising down the highway even with the APR stage 2 software.

I think I am going to move to army building.
Modulex Guy replied to ziljin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I thought of doing the same at one point, I wanted to make a Ninja army... until I saw the BL prices on just torsos alone. sheesh, too much $$$ -
I love the grab bags, I get them every time the store has them! All the grab bags are is just return sets, broken down store display sets, extra PaB, etc... A few bags ago I managed to get a lot of Emerald night parts, a heap of Build a minifig bits, PaB, Indiana Jones figs and parts.

I Need Help in making a hairpiece!
Modulex Guy replied to Modulex Guy's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
So yesterday evening I went to a local hobby store where the guy that works there is very knowledgeable in al hobby things. I asked him my situation and he said that the best option, is to make a master out of clay (sculpey) and to make a mold on that, the store had plenty of mold making kits and resin kits. Well I bought a cube of clay and I'll see what I can do with that. -
I Need Help in making a hairpiece!
Modulex Guy replied to Modulex Guy's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Tutorial, I would like to make it myself, I just need some instruction on the best way to make it. woody64: I have seen your 3D printed stuff and researched it a bit, It looks fantastic, only issue with that is that my computer skills suck and I would not be able to make a prototype render on a computer. -
Hey customizers, I need some tips on how to make my own hair pieces. I want to make anime style girl hair from each of my favorite anime series... which would be like 20 something individual hairpieces This kind of hair: What would be the best way to approach something like this? What would be the best way to sculpt something like this? What materials to use? ...I do have experience in making model car kits, painting, etc... tools, paints, and modeling supplies I have, it just the sculpting part I'm in the dark on. What would you do? I need help.

I had to choose "Buy now, Pay later" Usually I buy all the sets I want either right when they come out or a month or so afterwards... max the cards empty the wallet, and bang my head on the counter when the bill comes at the end of the month. Although lately I've not been buying the big sets, I still want the Imperial flagship, Fire Brigade, 2 Grand Emporiums, Taj Mahal, pretty much all the big Star Wars sets...I'll get them eventually though.

Ah, yes, Pokemon. I used to like Pokemon when it was just the original series and the original 150 (152 including Mew & Mew Two) I still have all of my cards that I collected, I think I have at least 3000 cards or so. I also played the Gameboy games also, Pokemon Blue/Red/Yellow.

Thanks! Although I was a bit disappointed that they only let me buy just these two, I wanted the Battle of Almut set also, but they said I was pushing it already. Oh well, at least I have these two.

I have not really made a proper review here on EB, but I can make some reviews tomorrow when I will have time to build them. ...Yes, Etzel, I'm still allowed in the store.

Woo! Story of how I got them posted also in PoP thread.

Went out for a few things this morning, came home with this: Just a warning to all of you going out to buy these before release... the stores won't sell these until April 1!!!!! (not april fools joke) The two TRU's I went to, one refused to sell them since it was not in the computer system yet, some stocker put them out by mistake, they took the sets away from me at the register, and I watched the manager take all the sets off the shelves. The second store I went to also had them fresh off the truck and mistakenly put out, computer said do not sell until the 1st! I was arguing with the manager of the second for like 30 minutes that if a product is on the floor, they have a right to sell it to the customer, etc. etc.... I argued to the point that I said I'm not leaving the store without these, so they price over-rided the computer and I got them. Also watched the employees take away all of the sets off the shelves and to the back. Such a hassle.

Unless you get the two tone sport package!: Best Interior I have ever sat in very comfortable in the front, but for someone who is 6 foot 4, the back seats are way to small with the low roofline. I drove in the VR6 AWD version at the dealer, and the VR6 really has some good "get up and go", I love the car.

Parts that just can't be taken apart without swearing loudly
Modulex Guy replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've had that problem with helmets and pieces jammed into them. Get yourself some needle nose pliers, it makes all the difference. -
Well, the reason it got moved since in your original post you did not mention anything about pirate sets, if you did, it most likely would not get moved. Anyway, on topic, I'd love to show pics of all my sets... problem is I don't build them, I buy for parts, then Moc.

Very nice set, although I'm not crazy about the china made figs, I would buy this for the white ninja, but if it is a China made fig then no. To me, I rather spend the premium on BL for the original fig than a China made one, me being a collector it kinda feels like cheating.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Modulex Guy replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Blackheart Brit, the store employee was wrong. These are confirmed to be a complete minifigure per pack as a complete matching part fig. - A nurse will have all pieces, torso, head, hair, accessory, etc. - A clown will have the head, torso, hair, horn, legs, etc. The thought that it would be random fig parts per bag was just initial speculation when news of the theme first popped up. -
PM to you!

Hey Hey! wow, someone from Naperville! I'm also in Naperville! Like Stash2Sixx said, come down to an NILTC show (which I'm also a member) and see what we build to maybe get some inspiration! Yes It's the Oak Lawn Library, although this time I'm not displaying, just did not have the time to get things together.

I found a mass of these around my area, the Star Wars ones look great! I bought a ton.
