And that is why you should never turn your back to the enemy... even in space! Those Ninjas are everywhere!

I have noticed your fan and really like that you made an attempt to use both Modulex and LEGO together. I personally do not mix my Modulex with LEGO, because as you mentioned that it really does not combine well. i think though in this case it works rather well, although the red is a bit to... off in this MOC, if it was grey though it would fit perfectly.

Welcome to EB from another Modulex fan/collector/hoarder.

If you had to collect it all over again...
Modulex Guy replied to David Thomsen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hmm, this is an interesting dilemma. I think that I would buy everything back plus stuff that I missed in the past as well, I would not know what to do without my collection. -
ANOTHER MODULEX COLLECTOR!!! WOOO!!! Welcome to EB! I love that you used many rare window elements in your MOC! How big is your collection of Modulex? And how did you start MOCing with it?

I luckily never really had a dark age... Mine was more of a dim age. I never gave up building MOCs out of what I had, but buying sets had stopped when I was about 2003 through 2006ish when I was in High School (those dismal teen years). Around 2007 I had discovered Racers, started buying a few because I like cars. Also around the same time I had discovered the LEGO store in Schaumburg and PaB! It started with buying a cup of parts here and there, and now, me at 20 years old, I find myself buying more than ever. ...I love LEGO.

I have a feeling that this post is just to stir up disputes on the board. It does not sound true to me. Thus my assumption of Interweb troll.

To me the blue/white car is a 3G Mitsubishi Eclipse and the red one is definitely a S2000.

Can we get a picture of your table set up? I have built my fair share of train tables, shelves, and work benches to work out how to properly re-enforce and support them.

Aint nobody takin' my Modulex. Anyways, I can't wait for this set. Looks fantastic.

I build new school buildings, I'm not rally a huge fan of not having a back wall, plus I like to build with realistic style. But most of the cars I have in my layout are mostly 4 wide cars, some built as classic style with variations of new and old. I build trucks in 6 wide.

I love the way you made the book shelf... very Ikea-esque. The stool is a nice design as well.

Purchase in bulk from Pick a Brick
Modulex Guy replied to BryanKinkel's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You DO NOT order these boxes, they are shipping cases delivered to LEGO stores and the LEGO store is allowed to order them for PaB, go to a official LEGO brand store and ask if you can buy bricks by the case and ask what they have in stock. Then buy the case at the LEGO store. -
Is there something wrong with my RC motor?
Modulex Guy replied to Carefree_Dude's topic in LEGO Train Tech
At the last show our club displayed at, we had the new passenger train working. We have also noticed that the wheels spin and the train cannot pull a large load, we think, and looked at it a bit and realized these trains are very light and the motors have a problem getting grip. Add a bit of weight and a fresh set of batteries and see if that helps. -

Every store has these boxes, they are the standard shipping case that LEGO uses for PaB, also what bricks a particular store has all depends on stock, many times I ask for a case of such and such, and they do not have it. Here are pics of a case from one of our NILTC members: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=370339 -
Stunning and Beautiful! May I ask what you used for your lighting and power? I'm always into lighting up MOCs and always look for new ways to light them up.

Wanna go buy me all the Ninja sets.

Purchase in bulk from Pick a Brick
Modulex Guy replied to BryanKinkel's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, you have to know that when you go through LEGO, I think its better because you do not have to pay for shipping and you are getting factory fresh bricks, no nicks or scratches on the bricks. I just did a quick rough calculation that there should be between 650 and 700 2x4 bricks per box. here is how I did this: I counted out how many bricks fit in a cup, cramming got me to exactly 100 bricks, then took a box and began to fill it up by the cup, I got 6 and 3/4 cups into the box (not topped off since thats how the boxes come) and it came out to about 650 to 700 bricks per case. Cost wise you are better off with the case because if you calculate it out, the case is cheaper... 7 cups at 14$ is 98 dollars 7 cups worth of brick in a sealed case is 70$ I'd buy the case. Hope that helps. -

How many bricks are you in need of? I've boughten quite a few cases of bricks and two with 2x4s, I never counted them but there is quite a bit in there. -
I think its just pre-hover conversion. Nice MOC.

When did I say this? The CC is my perfect car. The dealer just did not have the color/trim/engine I wanted at the moment on the lot and I would need to order it. I also called them again to ask how long the wait is for the order, I would have to wait 4 months for the car. I'm really thinking about putting the order in. Also haggling is no problem for me, I think its fun, the best thing to do is go to the dealer for like three or four days in a row debate their numbers, counter offer, leave, repeat, threaten them to go to another dealer, bring in KBB reviews and prices, argue the spec sheet, ask for deals on accessories etc. Thats what I ended up doing when my mom got her Honda Odyssey. The dealer really got frustrated that we kept coming in and wanted to get rid of us at whatever cost, we left with the car 6 grand off the sticker, upgraded at no charge to the "touring" wheels, premium floor mat and got all the free shirts, coffee mugs, key chain things they had. All in all, great success! Oh, posades, you are looking for wheels, get these: CSL reps in black:

Well the reason I am taking the letter seriously is that I have gone through the fine print crap, went over the whole deal with the paperwork, financing, trade, down payment, and all that. The dealer wanted to give me 6500 for my car as a trade, which I consider fantastic because I had other offers for less than 5000$ before, and thats how much my car is worth. We also qualified for a 2.1% interest for 60mo. And also they did not have the car I want on the lot and I would have to order and wait for it. CC VR6 4Motion in Shadow Blue metalic, Gold Coast Votex body kit, black leather, 19 inch "motorsports" wheels. It would be like three or more months wait. By then I can wait for a 2011 model.
-
I am fully aware of those letters with the fine print, this one was a bit different, It was a "top dollar trade in" letter also with VW's own "Autobahn for all 0% financing for 5 years" deal, plus it help to have a good relationship with the dealer since they do most of the service and tuning on my car. I was at the dealer last night and drove the CC, all I could say is the car is amazing/flawless/awesome, though I do not think I'm ready to jump the gun on this car yet since I love my current car too much and the CC is quite pricy with the VR6 4Mo.
-
I just got a letter from my dealer with some interesting and tempting offers to trade in my car. I'm going to the dealer today or tomorrow to test drive a new VW CC 2.0T to see how I like it or not. Although I'm probably not going to get it since they do not have the one I want in inventory, the VR6 4Motion. We'll see though. Pic of the car:

I know this is an old topic, but it still proves to hold a good conversation. I myself am an all around train guy. I like the good ol' American freight trains, old steamers, and such, but I also like the European classic engines, and modern high speed rail as well. I also have to add that I like Japanese trains also, particularly the Shinkasen bullet trains.
