1. @Pluto_MkII: It is basically two 4x4 gears hooked together at the center diffs. One is vitually axle 1 and 3 and the other is axle 2 and 4. The advantage in that setup is that there will always be two wheels spinning, one in each 4x4 setup. As @Zblj said, the rear two axles can be consideres as one, as there is no steering included. So in a "perfect" setup, where no tension/torsion during curves can happen in the drive train at all, there will be 6 differentials needed: 1 per axle 1 between the two front axles (as they will have different turning angles) 1 between the center diff between the front acles and the two rear axles. That setup however will lead to the situation (one wheel spnning) that Pluto_MkII described in his post above.
2. I created a conceptual differential layout for an 8x8, just to see if it could work. It does it so far, even there is obviously still some minor tension happening between the axles. However it is better than not to have any center diffs at all. Any opinions?
3. Lucio, is the drivetrain a permanent 8x8? How many center-diffs did you use? And where did you place them?
4. So, Effe, this axle is just 2 studs too wide to use it in the Arocs or 8258? Do I see that right?
5. Did somebody try to modifiy the Arcos into a 8x8? The two front axles should also be driven.
6. You're totally right! I absolutely oversaw that! Thanks for clarification!
7. I additional changed the stabilizers. I removed the red 7L liftarm and replayced it with two thin 6L liftarms. That looks better and gives the Arocs much more ground clearance.
8. I just implemented Effermann's idea and build a bumper:
9. In Germany that "thing" was called "Kübelwagen" - "bucket wagon". Nice MOC!
10. Here are some photos of the beast in action: ...... And of the small modification to handle the other battery boxes: .. Edited permissions in Flickr ....
11. What a monster!!!!!!!!! Yesterday I finished the build and it was incredible fun to build it!! This thing is huge and heavy! But works outstanding! I did not use the LiPo battey boxes, but two of the standard boxes 59510. Thus I had to modify the back of the beast a little bit, so that they fit across the chassis. And - unfortunately - I did not have 10 hard, yellow shock absorbers, so I used two grey ones for the front axle. But that is definitive too weak. When starting driving the front axle significantly starts to drop. This is, what I have to change. My boys love that monster, they are always quarreling who has the remote controll. THANK YOU, Madoca!!!!
12. I am pretty sure, that it is NOT a independent suspension in the rear. It is a pendular suspension, that is "just" supported by the grey shock absorbers.
13. Yeah, I know! :-) But it is not visible in the videos, how it works. This guy is never pushing the vehicle e.g. sideways to demonstrate the function of the supsension!
14. I'd really love to see the suspension working.
15. That will not work. Then the car will lean over to one side! It will not stand straight up!
16. Obviously there are two versions of the crawler. I just got mine for birthday and I found out that in the instructions something was modified. At the end of the axle, that comes from the driving-motors (L) there is one of these mounted on my model instead one of these . On the cover of my box, the old one is still visible, in the instructions and the part-list inside the instructions the other part is mentioned. So, what might be the purpose that TLG changed that part? The funny thing: While building, I was wondering, why TLG was not using the old one! Later I found out, that they obviously were doing that in the beginning. Regards, Gerhard
17. Here are some nice pictures of various Unimogs. Have fun! Regards, Gerhard
18. Can you post some pictures? That would help to see what exactly xou mean. Thanks!
19. Very nice mode from user Dijco85 in Brickshelf.

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Dijco85/Unimog8110/007.jpg

More pictures in his BS-folder. Regards, Gerhard
20. I added a pneumatic driven bed to the Unimog already some weeks ago. Some of you gave me the challange to ad a 3-side bed to it. Here it is! But I was inspired by Barman76 and his blue Unimog. He used a small LA for it. It is still in prototype stadium, so there will be some additional changes upcoming. See 4 more pictures in my flickr photostream. The pictures there also have a bigger resolution. Regards, Gerhard
21. The video is hilarious! Regards, Gerhard
22. No. That equipment is definitly good! Can you lift it up? It seems, that you can't. Regards, Gerhard
23. I just added a solution to have a working steering wheel in the cabin. I added also a gear ratio, so that the steeting wheel turns faster than the HOG-steering. But this can be simply removed. I was inspired by Barman76 blue Unimog, who has a similar solution. See more details on my Flickr photostream. Regards, Gerhard
